How to unlock the Easy Cup Master achievement in Rapala Fishing Frenzy - Definitive Guide

In order to gain this achievement you must complete all the 5 Lake requirements on the Easy Cup Tournament. Once you complete a challenge, the next becomes available. They are quite easy, in my opinion, once you learn how to identify the fish needed. It is the only one available at the begining of the game. Here's were you'll learn about casting, combos, etc. This should take about 1hr 30min to complete. Very easy, just time consuming.

Hello there, you should head over to the forums and ask there or go to youtube for a video. It's been such a long time since I wrote this guide(2009), I can't recall.

I know this next one is gonna sound hilarious, but it's some sort of Dance Dance Revolution....with fish!
You have to hit the buttons and commands they prompt out while reeling in the fish with LT. So when they want you to do RS to the right, you do to the right, reel out is RT, and the buttons, like X, X, B, Y is obvious.

Tips & Tricks for Tournaments & Challenges

* Use the default lure

ALL fish can be caught using the default lure, but some events require you to change to a specific one [The Shad Rap lure in ONLY found in the 0 ft depth menu]. If you have to change it:

1. When standing on the boat but not fishing, press to open the menu.

2. Use and to select the kind of fish. [optional since all lures work]

3. With [up/down] select the depth you want to fish. [use the default]

4. Use [left/right] to select the lure type.

5. Press to select the color options. [optional]

*Stay where you started

1. Most, if not all the fish you need can be caught from the starting location if you use Attract.

2. If you're having trouble finding the fish you need, while standing on the boat waiting to fish press to bring up the lake map, highlighting the "Hot Spots" around the lake where you WILL find the fish you need for the specific event.

* Manage your time.

Especially critical in the harder events / challenges. [I have lost too many challenges on time!]

1. ONLY use Reel-In Boost, Ariel Boost and Drag Up/Down combos, except when going for a high score. If you use most other combos it will take longer to land the fish.

2. Be sure to either cut the line, click , if you've hooked the wrong type or are making a long retrieve, or do not Sure Bite the fish to begin with.

3. After you have met the event requirements, use the remaining time to go for the Fish Connoisseur achievement (do not use Attract).

* Getting high scoring fish

Having trouble with those 15,000 point challenges? Here's what to do.

Points are gained by successful and unbroken combo streaks. The higher the level the longer and harder the button sequences and the more points you'll gain. You'll also get a small (100-250) bonus for the star reputation/size of the fish. Using this method I regularly catch 2200 - 4000 point fish.

1. Make a long cast (100+'). Although not critical it will allow a few more combo's in the last 20 feet.

2. After you do the Attract sequence, let the lure rest a while. More often than not the fish you're looking for will bite after a successfully Attract.

3. When reeling in, TAKE YOUR TIME. The longer the fish is in the water, the higher points you'll get. I found a pattern that really works for me.

> Stay out of the red. When retrieving I'll stop and let line out. eg: I use until the tension meter is almost to the red, then I use both and (going against the direction of the tension) until the meter almost hits the middle. At this point switch back to only to retrieve. This will keep you out of the red and seems to bring on multiple combos.

> Don't miss the combos. Breaking a string seems to really delay combos from reappearing. You especially want the Time Warp, Old Sage and Fish Hero. These give the fish energy and add time to the fight.

> Size doesn't matter. The difference in bonus between a 2 and 5 star fish is small (150 +- points), unless the fish is not legal and then nothing counts. I've thrown back too many 2200+ points fish because they were not legal .

* What fish count?

1. Only legal fish count toward the achievement totals. If it says it's not legal and you have to let it go on the summary screen, it will NOT count.

2. If you caught a fish that does not count toward event / challenge goals i.e. catch Smallmouth Bass over 12", the fish WILL count so long as it is legal.

3. If you fail an event / challenge all the fish you caught will NOT count. Bummer!

[Thanks to LeMansFahrer for some great tips.]
