This is a very easy achievement to earn if you actually know the code, you have probably already searched for a guide for this but instead found N64 controls, this guide will show you how to do this on Xbox One.

Firstly just boot the game and wait at the main menu until the character bios start coming up on the screen, at this point press:

If you inputted this code correctly you should hear Gargos laugh, now all that you have to do is go into any mode and select Gargos as your character, then BAM, the achievement should pop.

The view button you are calling it is the back button, the other one by the start button. Thanks for the help, I was confused and not sure if I was doing it right. I was hitting the start button.

Sometimes, I hate being ambidextrous. Spent about 10 minutes tapping left on the left stick progressively getting more and more frustrated.

also I think you might have to have beaten Arcade mode first, was trying before and couldn't get it to pop but after beating it got the laugh first try

I didn't complete Arcade Mode I just entered the code (very carefully) as suggested in the solution and it popped.

also wait for the laughing sound to stop before you jump into Arcade Mode......otherwise it can bug-out and the character won't show.

Definitely don't need to complete arcade mode...worked just fine with only one other match played. Just put the code in slow and deliberately, remembering that

means right stick to the right (like others have said).

Gargos is a gargoyle looking villain who’s mostly brown in this version of KI. It’s important to note that the R stick input is actually not a click, but movement to the right. I had trouble until a I realized this.

Unlocked and played as Gargos several times, no achievement. I blame Rare Replay for this though.

Edit: Achievement popped on my 3rd time after quitting rare replay, turning off my console and turning it back on and trying again.

No need to beat Arcade mode. You can enter the above kbd sequence any time (except during fight).

After the pretty soft laugh simply press

a couple of times to proceed (I mean it pauses the fight, then choose quit and

again etc...)

When you reveive the character selector ring upper left side (you should act quickly enough, as the countdown is fast), choose the weird light blue dragonlike creature Gargos, fight a little bit with him and cheevo pops up soon.

For some reason I was unable to find Gargos in practice mode, but I was able to get the achievement by selecting him for Arcade

Follow The Uber Camper first solution above... and the most important part is WAIT until you see the character bios on screen then input the code with right stick pushed to the right. I didn't get this until I read the comment about waiting for the character bios.
