These were way easier than I was anticipating. I just did all 5 in about 20 minutes. The last one is way easier than it seems. Follow a Youtube video and go as fast as possible and sure, the gem placement is luck, but learning to know where you are jumping from and into the next screen can determine just stumbling into the gems at the right place and time. Knowing how to cut the rope with Y when you have a gem is key here, because this is impossible at the snails pace the rope lets you descend. It takes a little patience, as this will take a few tries. I think Snapshot 3 took me longer, because that needed more precision, but I'm glad there was no enemies, or it would have been the worst. Whoever made this game was sadistic.

As a note, you can die falling to the last level you need and still pass. It just happened to me.

for the 4th snapshot i had to attempt it about 20 times, and the time that i finally succeded was the first time that i tried riding those bubbles up instead, although i may have just gotten lucky.
Still, a very good guide

Using the bubbles worked better for me on the 4th snapshot as well.

@marciocxs I saw somewhere (I would give credit if I remembered) that you can check the leaderboard for each challenge, one should have no time, it should the one you need.

Hi, I completed all of the snapshots and I am visible in all the leaderboards, but my tracker is still showing 80%. Does anybody know a workaround to get this achievement to pop?

#3 took forever. Kept jumping over platforms and falling 100ft

The 5th snapshot becomes slightly easier when you realise you can just fall down when invincible and survive. It then just becomes an effort in falling down as fast as you can and avoiding the bubbles and that one plant.

The video helps a lot with the last two. I feel dumb that it took me so long to realize that the gem count was displayed in the upper left corner of the screen.

Snapshot 5 really is RNG-based, so keep trying. It took me maybe 20 tries before the gems aligned in the perfect pattern.

The snapshots provide 'bite-sized' challenge in a pre-defined scenario in the game, accessible via the snapshots section of the Rare Replay interface. You cannot use the rewind feature when attempting these.

There are five snapshots to complete, which are as follows:

1. Settle the Score
You're invulnerable! Get some payback and score 5,000 points within 60 seconds.

You need to reach a total of 5,000 points to complete this snapshot. If you can collect both gems from the starting screen, you'll easily exceed this threshold, while defeating enemies will provide a further boost. However, if you fall from here, you can either use the bubbles to attempt to climb back up, or alternatively proceed to the left where you should find another gem.

2. Jewelling Sabres
Collect a precious gem from somewhere in the Underwurlde.

You need to collect any one gem to complete this snapshot, and by far the closest gem is on the screen immediately above your starting point. Sabreman begins hanging from a rope; to reach the gem, you can either ascend this rope then swing right to the gem, or alternatively drop from the rope onto a bubble on the right of the screen, then ride this directly up to the gem.

3. Vertigo
The Underwurld monsters have gone on strike! Take the opportunity to reach Depth 01.

Sabreman starts this snapshot at depth 07 and you need to climb straight up until you reach depth 01, i.e., six screens. Fortunately, there are no enemies to trouble you here, but climbing itself, by jumping between platforms, can be frustrating enough and is likely to take a fair amount of trial-and-error to find the right positions to jump from. Eventually, once you land on the first platform at depth 01 (with the on-screen counter reaching 0), you'll complete the snapshot.

4. Down and Out
Head into the abyss and make it out the other side without losing a life. Gulp!

For this snapshot, you need to descend into a pit and then ascend on the other side, without dying. The path that you'll be taking is three down, right, three up then finally right. The main challenge here will be avoiding the numerous enemies that spawn along the way, as if they hit Sabreman, they'll knock him off his rope, likely leading to him falling to his death. There's no time limit here, so take your time and use your weapons wisely to attack the enemies and clear a safe path. You'll likely need a few attempts at this, but you should eventually get used to the patterns in which the enemies appear and reach the other side of the pit.

5. Rock Bottom
Reach the very bottom of the Underwurlde. Gems will last twice as long as normal.

A difficult snapshot to complete, this sees Sabreman having to descend to the lowest level of the Underwurld, via a lengthy path, without dying. Numerous enemies will appear and attempt to knock Sabreman to his death. Success here is dependent upon making good use of this invincibility gems, which fortunately last twice as long as usual - you should collect these at every opportunity and use them to allow Sabreman to fall large distances rapidly, without dying.

The path that you need to take is 3D, 2R, 2D, 1R, 3D, 1L, 3D, 1R, 3D, 1R, 3D, 2L, 2D, 1R, 1D (D = down, L = left, R = right).
