How to unlock the Brute Force achievement in Rare Replay - Definitive Guide

I got this achievement in less than 5 minutes with the following method:

* practice mode -- choose Sabrewulf

Stand next to your opponent and rotate the thumbstick while spamming cn_Y:
*If facing right, rotate clockwise.
*If facing left, rotate counterclockwise.

This cranks out tons of 8, 9, 10, and 11-hit combos. You'll find it works most efficiently when you have your opponent pinned against the edge of the arena.

I really hate fighting games. Even this great advice was a pain for me. Took me like 20 minutes with this idiot-proof guide.
Something that helped is mash y before you start going to town on the joystick. Also... this is kinda sad, I could not rotate the thumbstick fast enough with my thumb. I found a position in kinda in my palm (actually where my palm met my fingers) that I could sit there and rotate for correctly and fast enough to crank out the combos. It still took me like 20 minutes. I kept getting triples. But eventually would get into a groove and get like 5 decent combos back to back.

Hmm, sorry to hear that it took longer. Maybe I should go back to it and work out the timing I used, so it will be clearer. Glad you got the achievement, though!

The easiest way to do this is using 3 special moves in one combo to get a combo of 7 or higher.

Go into Practice Mode with Sabrewulf(or your favourite character). The combo you need to do with Sabrewulf is:
B --> F + MP, QP, B-->f + MP, QP, B-->F + any button
(On the default setup this will be:
cn_left, cn_right + cn_Y, cn_LB, cn_left, cn_right + cn_Y, cn_LB,cn_left, cn_right + Any button.)

Repeat that 25 times. It should only take 5 minutes.

For negative votes, please explain why

I'm a bit confused to be honest; Quick Punch is mapped to cn_X and Fierce Punch is mapped to cn_LB. Your textual inputs contradict your button combination layout.

With either, I still can't pull off a single Master combo. Exactly how fast do you need to enter these inputs? My understanding is that modern fighting games cache your inputs but it doesn't seem to be the case here.

Dunno who downvoted... but this did help me even more than the previous solution, with the 1st one I got around 10 in 2 hours, with this method I got the rest in 5 minutes...

Thanks for the tip

I'll be honest, I haven't downvoted you but I still have no idea what any of that algebra means. Any chance you can write it in Xbox button presses for the fighting game rookies?

If I can just throw my two cents in here, I found it easier to do the combo using B instead of Y. Not 100% but it DOES seem that using B nets you an extra hit. Once I swapped from Y to B i was getting Masters almost every time. Thanks for the help with the combo input though!

The combo needs to be done quickly, the second button press(quick punch) needs to be done during the cartwheel attack, then the cn_left cn_right cn_Y needs to be done straight after

I could NOT get the guide to work a single time. Ultra combos were easy and worked every time. What got me the achievement was mashing the buttons thanks to Chronic Killer's suggestion. That worked like a charm. I think I would need a visualization to understand what I am doing wrong when following the guide because I know I am hitting the buttons provided.

Wow yeah - tried all the solutions here and was getting annoyed. Started button mashing as recommended here in the comments and saw the tracker start progressing immediately. Less than 10 minutes later and its done.

Yeah, Maybe I'm just not good at directions but that was getting annoying.

I started button mashing.
Did find a pattern that worked about 99% of the time
Flurries of MP and QP and lefts and rights.

L R MP, L R MP, L R QP, L R QP.
If done correctly, with Sabrewulf, you should spin into the opponent twice, then punch him up, and summon some weird ass stripper glitter out the floor for two hits and then punch him another time for a master juggler combo

Go into practice mode and select sabrewulf. The button input using default controls is cn_left, cn_right + cn_Y followed by cn_X followed by cn_left, cn_right + cn_Y followed by cn_X. I found it easier to hold cn_X slightly longer than a tap and make sure to press the next sequence while the animation for the previous sequence is still happening. Below is a video I made showing what it should look like. If done correctly you will get an 8-hit combo. Repeat 25 times for the achievement.

This is the best of the solutions available. Having tried the others for a while it only took me a few minutes mashing Y, X and LS to get the required 25 with this.

The most easy way to do this is to do Ultra Combos. I have chosen Jago´s.
The condition for an Ultra Combo is a red glimming life bar and a combo opener. I have chosen Jagos Double Kick as opener.
Legend: FK = Fierce Kick, QK = Quick Kick
The Input for this Kick: cn_right+FK
During this Kick you have to input his Ultra Combo. Jagos Ultra Combo has the following Input: cn_downrightcn_downcn_downleft + QK
So the full combination = cn_right+FK, cn_downrightcn_downcn_downleft + QK

Credit to "Weezleram": You can only Ultra someone on their final health bar. In Team Elimination mode, everyone only has one life bar. This means you can Ultra each person on their green life bar once they are low health.

Better yet, you can set the opponent to have 11 characters on their team. You can knock out 25 Ultras in about 5 minutes this way.

Alternative Solution from Bownzinho
D, DF, F = QCF ( cn_down , cn_downright, cn_right )

Glacius QCF+MP ,QP, QCF+MP, QP, QCF+MP is a viable alternative. There is nothing wrong with using the Ultras for this as you can use it to knock off that achievement too but there are loads of combos that use the same special three times with autodoubles in between (ex. Sabrewulf B, F+MP,QP) then you will be able to get 4 combos off per round and that is a much quicker and much easier method. You have to do 25 rounds if you only use Ultras, you might as well use combos with those characters during the matches too to get at least 5 per match

You will need two controllers for this solution. I would also recommend going for this AFTER the ultra combo achievement so you will already be partway there.

I found the easiest way to get this was to wait at the title screen until the character bios appear, then enter the code cn_backcn_Xcn_Acn_RSlcn_Acn_back to unlock all options. Go to options and turn on cheap juggling. Now go to arcade mode and press cn_start on your second controller. Select sabrewulf for player one and any character for player 2 (I chose orchid). Now spam cn_leftcn_rightcn_Y and after a few attacks the second player will go into the air. Continue to spam and you will juggle ridiculously. When the match is over, press start on the second controller and do it all over again until it pops. You should get this achievement in 10 minutes. Good luck!
