How to unlock the Long Lifespan achievement in Rare Replay - Definitive Guide
1 - Stay where you spawn, aim at the swimmer and tap to shoot. Watch out for the round ship with the homing missile as it will damage you and freeze you for a couple seconds. As long as you aren't destroyed early, you shouldn't have a huge problem. If you die, restart the playlist!
2 - For Battletoads, just take it easy and wait for the enemy turret to approach. Use to preform a big spiral shot to clear the turret, and then survive a couple of waves of moving circles to get to 15 seconds. Feel free to use another spiral attack to last a little longer.
3 - Pace yourself! Food will regenerate 20 health, so don't pick it up unless the counter is at 30 or so. Just keep navigating the rooms to new rooms to find new food and avoid being hit by enemies.
4 - This is all about the pattern and getting a good start. First off, don't hit the kraken at the beginning! Now just go from the top right corner to the bottom left corner in a counter-clockwise motion, starting your movement when the tentacles appear, and then reverse it. Pattern it with the proper movement of the Kraken and it is quite easy.
5 - This is a combination of memorization and quick reflexes. Just practice this as much as possible in regular snapshot mode before going for this snapshot! Small tip is to make sure that when you're weaving in a slalom pattern that you don't push all the way to the edge as it will require more movement to get back across to opposite side when the pattern speeds up. The blocks take up half the alley, so your character only needs to be 75% of the way over, not all the way hugging the wall.
If you're able to complete the playlist, the achievement will unlock.

Here is a playlist of guides for this game!

Alongside the full games, each pre-N64 game in Rare Replay has five standalone 'snapshot' challenges available to attempt; this concept is taken a stage further by a set of six 'playlists,' collecting together five achievements that share a particular theme. theme. To complete each playlist, you'll need to complete each set of snapshots in sequence without failing more than twice across the whole set.
For this achievement, you'll need to complete the 'Precious Seconds' playlist, for which each snapshot requires you to survive for a certain threshold time. The snapshots are as follows:
1. Cobra Triangle: Last Man Swimming
You're down to your final swimmer! Keep them safe for at least 45 seconds.
The snapshot sees you defending one lone swimmer from a constant assault of attacking boats. In general, the best approach is to aim your fire across the swimmer's location, firing continuously, with perhaps a slight side-to-side rotation of your firing arc. The standard attacking boats pose little challenge, but what you need to watch out for are the UFOs that spawn about every five seconds - these fire homing missiles that will disable your weapons for a few seconds, long enough for a boat to capture the swimmer. Try to take out the UFOs as quickly as you can, which isn't always easy as they tend to stay around the outsides of the screen, but if you get hit by a missile it is possible to recover if there are no boats immediately on screen. The UFOs can make this snapshot a little frustrating, but hopefully after a few attempts you should get the hang of the scenario and reach the 45 second target.
2. Battletoads Arcade: Rash's Last Stand
It's Rash vs the universe! Survive Robo-Manus's assault for at least 15 seconds.
This snapshot takes place at the start of the game's final stage, but 15 seconds doesn't actually see you coming across many obstacles so the snapshot is fairly straightforward to complete. First fire towards the top-right to take out the first gun, then you can use two special attacks (firing in a circle) to destroy the homing bombs and twin guns that you'll come across next. At this point the required 15 seconds will have passed, so just carry on with this sequence until you eventually die and you'll complete the snapshot.
3. Atic Atac: Glutton for Punishment
Keep your hunger bar above the halfway mark for 60 seconds! Mmm, chicken...
This is fairly self-explanatory, but just make sure that you're collecting food as and when you need it and avoid the monsters as far as possible. Don't pick up the food before your hunger bar has dropped a little or you'll be wasting some of it.
4. Cobra Triangle: What's Kraken?
Your weapons are out of commission! Avoid the squid's tentacles for at least 30 seconds.
This is a boss encounter, but your aim is simply to survive as you have no way to attack. You start with your boat in the middle of the screen, unhelpfully between all of the squid's tentacles; what you want to do is get yourself to one of the corners as soon as possible. From here, wait until the squid's tentacles surface and move towards you, then steer your boat away from them, towards another corner. This can be a little tricky in places, but keep on repeating this movement pattern until you reach the 30 second goal and you should be able to get it.
5. Battletoads: Turbo Tunnel Infinite
It's a toad's worst nightmare! Survive for 45 seconds in an endless Turbo Tunnel.
Set in the infamous 'Turbo Tunnel' of stage 3, completing this snapshot successfully is all about memorization and reactions - and practice - with your speeder bike accelerating as the course progresses (such that obstacles come at increasing frequency). Honestly, the best way to go about attempting this is just to practice, as fortunately the pattern of the course and obstacles is fixed. The YouTube below may be helpful in learning the course layout.
