How to unlock the Long Live The King achievement in Rare Replay - Definitive Guide

OK, here is the fastest way to get this achievement. Since you do not need to beat full chapters, I have listed the missions required from each chapter. This way you can get this achievement in about 30 minutes or less.

First, put in the cheat code WELDERSBENCH to unlock all chapters.

There are 8 chapters needed to beat. Each will raise your achievement progress bar by either 12% or 13% (12.5 x 8 = 100%), make sure the bar raises before moving to the next chapter.

Hangover - this is the tutorial, so beat this one easy then go to chapter select for the next ones.

Bat's Tower - only need last mission 'Bullfish's Revenge'

Barn Boys - you need to do missions 'Frying Pan' and 'Slam Dunk'

Sloprano - only need last mission 'The Bluff'

Uga Buga - only need last mission 'Buga The Knut'

Spooky- only need last mission 'Mr Barrel'

Its War - only need last mission 'Peace At Last!'

Heist - only need mission 'The Vault'

Those missions are the only requirements for the achievement. You do not need to play anything from chapter "Windy".

I’ve just spent the best part of two hours trying to beat the bloody alien. Are there any cheats other than what’s listed or is there an easy way to beat the third phase as I see no pattern whatsoever and my old man fingers don’t seem up to the job.

Please help, it’s driving me batty.

I've upvoted this guide because I know it'll save me time. I'm a little confused though, I can't seem to get the percentage to increase after bullfihs's revnege. How far do I need to go?

You can also try playing the chapter before that one and continue through until the end of blowfish.

I can't beat that Alien. I've tried for many days and many hours and still can't beat it. It's really sad to think I've waisted so much time on this game and I can't even beat the final boss. I wish they would update the game for noobs like me.

@louiphe I was able to get the patterns down and beat the alien boss but this boss seems harder in Rare Replay than in the Original N64 version even with the VERYEASY cheat. @YA BILLY Thx for this solution. smile

How do people think that this is a good game?

@Chizzy I don't understand why people think it's good either. I just gt this achivement and all the humor seems extremely low brow for the sake of being low brow. I +1'd this solution, but I am more than glad to get this achievement out of the way. I thought the mechanics were undgodly clunky, and hitboxes were widly inconistent.

On the Last Mission when you are fighting the Xenomorph.
When he bites after the first block you can start to melee him.
When he does a front flip over you, turn around and start to melee him. Try to get him to bite, so you can block and knock him out quick.

Literally unplayable. There is no NO WAY, not a snowballs chance in hell, to land that last hit on the last boss. I am convinced that Rare intentionally made the controls somehow slower and less responsive. Even with the veryeasy cheat. Nope. Can't be done.

Thank you so much for this guide! I haven't played Conker before and it hasn't aged very well. The writing is not so funny and technically the game is a mess. With this guide I skipped most of the game and got the achievement. If I really want to play it I'd use the 2005 remake, Conker: Live & Reloaded for that, it's Xbox One X Enhanced and is better from a technical standpoint at least.

That last boss is annoying. What I found worked well for the third airlock was to attack after jumping over his tail swipe, he’ll dodge but then immediately bite so I’d just block and then combo him. Makes the last part pretty doable.

Thanks to A Dreadul Shot, I got this on my first go at the third throw.

I'd expand on this strategy somewhat.

Throw 1. Knock him out after jumping over the tail. Push forwards as you jump so you're right in his face.

Throw 2. Knock him out after blocking a bite.

Throw 3. As described above, jump over a tail swipe and immediately block.

My strategy, for what it’s worth, was slightly different (by necessity):

1. Walk forwards, jump over the first tail swipe and knock out the alien.
2. Jump a tail swipe, throw a punch (miss), immediately block, throw another punch (which should land).
3. Jump a tail swipe, throw a punch (miss), immediately block, throw a punch (dodged by the alien), throw a punch (which should land).

I would also say that I’ve followed the numerous videos around the internet and none of them do the above, but following their method got me nowhere.

My tips for the Alien:
1. Turn the sound off
2. Only tap A to jump tail swipes
3. Try to get close to the door - it will make chucking him outside easier
4. Don’t over rotate when spinning or you’ll make it very hard to time the throw: once the scraping of his claws stops, try to release ASAP
5. Hitting on the third round requires a block of his bite: he tends to bite when you’re very close. Jump tail whips and circle in towards him - you need to hit punch straight after blocking the bite.
6. Patch up the holes in your wall with polyfilla and apply pressure with a towel to the bite marks in your forearm

I was really struggling with the 3rd phase - I found I had to be much closer (right up in his face) after blocking a bite to land any punches than I did on the previous two.

Hey Olimite - my tips for the third round are above, no cheats unfortunately! Like I say try to circle in to get close, jump the tail whips, then when you're close, block the bite and punch immediately.

Bullfish? Is that the one you swim away down the river? You just need to swim away from the enemy and down the river if i remember correctly. I had no trouble getting the percentage to go up on that one. I will have to replay that again when I am near my Xbox again to check.

I felt like the third hit required me to block him 4 times. First two times I tossed the alien out of the airlock, it was a simple block-combo-throw sequence. But the third time, I blocked, and then only got two hits in before Conker just stopped swinging. Did it again, got 3 hits in, and then he stopped again. Third time it was back to 2 hits. And then finally on the 4th attempt, he did the full 4 hit combo to knock the alien down. I don't know if I was just hitting the button too slowly or what that was, but it was obnoxious.

DJBringa, how did you beat him? He always dodges my attacks in the 3rd stage. I can't find the pattern to beat him.

Edit: Finally I did. Bazroy99's solution worked for me.

There's some confusion on this game so I hope this clears it up, I was confused by the game and guide so I made one as I got it as this was the 3rd to last achievement I got (as getting this unlocked my 312th stamp so technically also my 2nd to last achievement) in Rare Replay.

8 chapters need to be completed , sometimes it's just watching a cut-scene, sometimes its picking up cash, sometimes it's beating a boss, I'll list the parts that I know to better narrow it down, if yall can give me any advice as you progress I'll add it, thanks!
Also use the Achievement Tracker progress bar and have it on, it helps bunches!

Here's some cheats that will help you, enter them in the options menu:
WELDERSBENCH= Unlock all chapters
VERY EASY= Play on very easy mode
BOVRILBULLETHOLE= Have 50 lives

Chapters that need to be completed:
#1 Hangover (this is the tutorial but you only need to do the Gargole chapter of it)
#2 Bat's Tower: Bullfish's Revenge (evasive boss fight to cash)
#3 Barn Boys: Frying Tonight + Slam Dunk (cash on Frying Tonight) (pick up the cash n go through the tunnel for Slam Dunk) (note: you won't see your achievement progress bar update until you complete both of these chapters)
#4 Sloprano: The Bluff (cut-scene)
#5 Uga Buga: Buga The Knut (boss fight)
#6 Spooky: Mr. Barrel (cash)
#7 It's War: Peace at Last (cut-scene)
#8 Heist: The Vault (boss fight)

This achievement requires simply that you reach the ending of each chapter, and transition from each to the next. This being the case, there are two ways to approach this achievement. You can either play through the entire game and enjoy it from start to finish, or you can cheat. The assumption is that if you are reading this guide, you want to be done as quickly as possible, and so that is how the guide below will be structured.

To start off, you will need to unlock all of the chapters. From the main menu (the bar) go to options, and then cheats, and enter the following codes:

  • WELDERSBENCH - Unlock all chapters.
  • VERYEASY - Activate Very Easy Mode; makes the game easier overall.
  • BOVRILBULLETHOLE - 50 lives; for those tough levels.

The above cheats will make life easier for you as you go through the required levels. Once you have all of the chapters unlocked, go to the main menu again and then to chapters. Review below for the exact levels you need to complete and tips on how to do each. Before quitting out from each of the below, check your achievement progress to make sure it registered.

Hangover > All
Refer to "Conked Out" for more information. I suggest starting with that achievement before starting this one, as completing the first chapter for that achievement counts towards this one.

Bat's Tower > Bullfish's Revenge
You need to outrun the Bullfish. After the cutscene jump in the water and head down the river, using the catfish as bait to lure him away from yourself. Get to the end of the short river and another cutscene will play. Exit through the door and you're done this chapter.

Barn Boys > Frying Tonight
For this level you need to escape the large water filled room before the water rises and you're electrocuted. Head to the Exit signs ahead of you when you start and climb up the ladder. At the top of the ladder there is a "B" spot for you to press  on, and it will give you knives. Use the knives to knock down the three electrical wires hanging from the ceiling. Note that one of them can be hard to see as it will be mostly submerged in water. After you've knocked all three down hop back in the water (make sure it's not visibly electrocuted) and move to the next ladder (it should be easily visible). Repeat the same thing again and the water will rise to the top of the level, and you'll be clear to exit the level.

Barn Boys > Slam Dunk
This is directly continued from the last level. Go up the ladder to your right, and keep going up all the ladders following until you get to the top, avoiding the bees as you go. When you reach the top you need to jump off the diving board and press  when a light bulb appears over your head. This will open a gate on the ground for you to enter. Climb the ladder and jump to your death; this will put you back to the base of the ladders. From here, jump down to the ground (you won't die from this height) and go through the gate that you entered, and pick up the cash.

Slopranos > The Bluff
All you have to do here is walk to the weasels in front of you and watch the cutscene, then exit the level across the bridge.

Uga Buga > Buga The Knut
You need to beat the boss of this chapter for credit. Buga is fairly simple; you need to bite him in the groin, and then when he drops his pants, bite him again on the butt. If he jumps, you need to jump over the ripples he creates. If he winds up his bone that's him opening up for some crotch grabbing. Bite his behind three times and he will run away. Exit through the door beside where he exited and watch the cutscene.

Spooky > Mr Barrel
This is a quick level, though it can be tough. You need to hop on top of Mr. Barrel who is in the room you start in. After you jump on, direct him out the front door, then go down the winding path and out the exit. The controls here can be tough as it does get pretty fast. I suggest tapping the analogue stick to just nudge yourself around the corners, rather than doing hard turns. After you've exited the starting area you will be in a graveyard. Exit the graveyard and hop in the water (still on Mr. Barrel - he is required). Take Mr. Barrel to the right and up the watery path (you can't go up here without him). There's a patch of dirt with an exit, and jumping up there you will lose Mr. Barrel (this is ok). Go through the exit and you're done the level.

It's War > Peace At Last!
Very simple, there's a cutscene, then you need to go through the exit back to Windy. Done and done.

Heist > The Vault
You'll need to complete the final boss of the game. Darn it all, right? The boss has three phases, all basically the same, with some new attacks thrown in for each phase. You need to dodge his attacks by jumping, and then punch him four times(mash , ends with an uppercut and stuns the boss). When you boss is stunned you need to run around to his back, and you will automatically grab his tail. If you've ever played Mario 64, this is exactly like Bowser boss battles. Rotate the  until he stops grating on the floor with his nails, and then throw him with  into the hole in the ship. Repeat this three times to beat him. After the first phase he will start to dodge your punches sometimes, but he will do this far less if when you jump you land very close to him (right on top of him).

After watching the final cutscene your achievement should pop. If it does not, as has been reported by some, try replaying the last level of each chapter in order, as the game may have missed one.
