How to unlock the Pedal to the Medal achievement in Rare Replay - Definitive Guide

For this achievement you must earn a Gold medal on all stages first (this means the 2 medals on Carrier/Story) stages aswell as 1 Gold on all bonus stages, this will unlock the last few bonus stages and allow you to get this achievement.

If a stage has a green outline on the level select screen it means there is a transmitter you haven't collected yet, these transmitters will unlock new bonus stages.

This achievement is buggy. I have gold on everything and even the platinum achievement so I know I've done everything, but this one hasn't unlocked

Good to know. I was wondering how I knew if I found all the transmitters on the levels with multiple ones.

Thanks for explaining green means more transmitters! That's awesome! :)

Hi, I did every mission (story and bonus, even the moon) on gold, but i'm only at 67 gold medals, and nothing happens (i can't find another mission). If someone could help me i'd appreciate it ^^

I don't get it, I have the achievement for finding all the CPs, but I'm missing bonus missions, and all the missions I currently have all have gold, I'm sitting on 70 gold medals and have no idea where to go for what I'm missing.

All my missions have a red circle around them. And all my main missions are gold. The three planet missions aren't appearing for some reason. Has this happened to anyone else before?

As with many people, my achievement got stuck, in my case at 91% even though I've completed everything. So, I completed everything again. My completion percentage has now increased to 94%, but still no achievement. Luckily the game is fun and pretty quick to complete once you've got the hang of it, but this is trash.

This achievement seems to be bugged for me. I have completed" TWO" playthroughs, gold on every mission, reached rank 20, finished the 4 bonus missions at the end (planet missions). I even have the stamp for the achievement done, yet on my achievement progress it says 97%. WTF!!

I had the same issue as Marcus above and just want to note that you can't access the other planets until you get gold on all other side missions. So you need 74 gold in total before being able to do Mercury, Venus, Mars and Neptune.

Ok, here's everything you need to know to get this achievement.

In Total, there are 36 Side Missions. With few exceptions, side missions are triggered by the collection of CPs (Communication Points.) in the level. You simply touch them and they are active, offering a new side mission on the mission select screen.

There are 26 CPs total. If you have a mission available with an inactive CP, then it will show a Green border on the mission select screen rather than a red one.

Here's a list of the available Bonus Missions:

Baboon Catacomb
Backlash
Bison Ridge
Cobalt Quarry
Cooter Creek
Corvine Bluff
Dagger Pass
Dark Heartland
Falchion Field
Geode Square
Gibbon's Gate
Glander's Ranch
J-Bomb
Jade Plateau
Kipling Plant
Lizard Island
Mica Park
Magma Peak
Marine Quarter
Mars
Mercury
Moon
Moraine Chase
Morgan Hall
Neptune
Orion Plaza
Saline Watch
Salvage Wharf
Sideswipe
Silver Junction
Skerries
Skyfall
Sleek Streets
Thunderfist
Twilight Foundry
Venus

For the Racing levels, some tips ----

First, Some levels (Cooter Creek, Jade Plateau, and Skerries) have a shortcut that you are intended to find and use or you will never win.

Secondly, almost any vehicle can go lightning fast off road as long as you don't accelerate offroad. Just let yourself coast, you'll barely slow down at all.

Third, Before every race, there are four tones played and the light turns green, if you press the accelerator for the first time exactly on the fourth tone when the light changes, you'll get a boost.

Last thing, if you need to wreck a building for a race, (or in the regular game) this is key!! If your vehicle hits the building while airborne or tilted on its wheels, the parts of the building that you hit will automatically wreck. Some levels are built around this concept. If you see a rock touching a wall of a building, you're meant to drive over it to wreck the building.

Alongside the carrier stages, Blast Corps includes a large number of bonus stages, which challenge you with a course to complete (based around either a race or destruction) as fast as possible. Depending upon how fast you complete these, you'll be awarded with a medal - bronze, silver or gold for progressively tighter time thresholds. A platinum medal can also be earned once you've achieved gold on every stage.

Of course, before you can attempt the bonus stages you'll need to unlock them, which may simply be from completion of an adjacent stage in the world map but in many cases will require the location of communication points - see the "Corps Blimey, Guvnor!" achievement above for these and refer to the diagram included under the "Carrier Bagged" achievement above for the locations of the bonus stages.

To unlock this achievement, you'll need to earn at least a bronze medal on every bonus stage. Bronze times are generally quite forgiving, but if you need any help with your speed in a stage, the following Youtube video demonstrates platinum-speed completion of all stages in the game:

A list of the threshold times for each medal can be found in this guide: click here (refer to the NTSC/North American times, even if you're based in a different region).
