How to unlock the The Future of Gaming achievement in Rare Replay - Definitive Guide

This achievement can be gained very early in the game. Chapter 1, Scene 2: Trophy Room has you slowly walking through a corridor in first person perspective. As you walk through, some of the animal head trophies hanging from the walls will come to life, giving you a super scary shock, which you can survive by pressing the buttons shown on screen - I believe that the first one is always cn_A cn_A cn_A cn_A, but the others afterwards are random.

One pass through the corridor should give you three super scary shock encounters, each of which counts towards this achievement. Simply replay this scene over again until the achievement pops, or you can even quit as you get near to the exit door and restart the scene. You should be able to get this achievement within ten to fifteen minutes of starting the game.

As pointed out by UNDEADSPYR0, you can access the scene replay option through the bonus challenges, then selecting books and clicking trophy room. The number of shocks on each pass is random, so you can have as little as two shocks and as many as four in a single pass through the corridor.

Could be useful to say you can access the replay option through the bonus challenges, then selecting books and clicking trophy room. Also you can have as little as 2 shocks and as many as 4 whilst walking through the room. +1 headspin

Didn't know you could replay the first trophy room; that made this achievement a breeze. +1

The above guide will also work, I find it a hell of a lot quicker though to wait until you encounter Medusa for the first time, you can literally stand still and get shocked over and over again until the achievement pops.

This is definitely the fastest solution as opposed to reloading a game!

You can't literally stand still, otherwise Medusa just bashes the crap out of you. You need to avoid her until she projects the green lights from her eyes as she's looking for you, and then go in front of her, and perform the button combos. And repeat.

The shock blocker doesn't stop progress for this achievement, so you can grab that and not even have to press the buttons for the scare.

A Super Scary Shock occurs when Cooper is startled. When this happens the screen will turn to Cooper's face with a set of buttons that appear on the screen that the player must press in order for Cooper to overcome it. There are more than enough of these triggers in the game, so this will unlock naturally as you play.

Super Scary Shock is when your character starts squealing and you have to press the buttons shown on the screen in time.
The easiest way to do this is in the location Chapter 2, Scene 11: Lighthouse Store on jellyfish. Constantly fall under the attack of jellyfish and press the combination of buttons shown on the screen. Do this until you get the achievement.
