You don't need 3 or 4 controllers for this achievement. I got it with 2 controllers only. make sure you are in 2nd place while the alternate account (the one not going for the chievo) is in 1st place and not grabbing a single present. With your account, simply grab the presents until you get the lighting bolt powerup. When you have it, simply finish the race. Achievement unlocks. No need to use the plunger and/or using 3-4 controllers. As long as you have the required powerup, win the race.

Select the kitten on your profile and use at least 2 other controllers and assign them both any character. i chose to use the first level of the dlc (royal rumble).

Leave the kitten at the start. now take both of the other characters through the course, avoiding presents. if they pick one up DON'T use it, if you keep it it will stop them from picking any more up.

Near the end of the course there is a tall stack of presents you have to walk through, go through that and drop down. here there are 3 towers of blocks on top of yellow glowy areas. stand one of the characters (controller 2 or 3) just before the first glowy area, and then stand the other one on top of his head.

Now with the kitten (your account) work your way through the course slowly so you can get every present until you find shock all (thunder bolt). save it and get to the finish in 1st place.

Achievement pops!!

Using this method the first present the kitten picked on my first run was thunder bolt.

Just to note-

If for example if controller2 gets the thunder get rid of any presents controller3 has. then put them in place still as before near the finish. now work your way through the course with the kitten until you get the plunger then use that to steal the thunder of the other player. or alternatively you may find thunder bolt of your own, then just get to the finish

I tried with 2 pads and i couldn't do it. thats not to say it isn't possible, but on my several attempts no thunder bolts turned up.

You can use guitars and drums (d-pads) if you don't have enough controllers. i advise using the drums over the guitar. the guitars can be annoying to use on a 2D platformer.

Xbox Live match (2 players) --> Invite your friend --> Choose kitten.

The one that goes for the achievement picks up presents and use them until you get the 'Thunder Bolt' then save that and finish the race 1st place - Achievement unlocks. Note: To get the thunderbolt you will need to be in 2nd place so your friend needs to lead the race while you get presents.
