To start the training you need sword and shield. Get the sword by heading down right from where you exited the mirror. On the right side, up some stairs is your sword.
The shield is inside the Victorian House. From where you exited the mirror just head up and enter the house. In the right room there is a closet in the upper left corner. Open it to find your shield. After that exit the house and talk to Spiff, that floating bunny in the upper left corner. Just follow his button prompts and finish the fighting tutorial.
