How to unlock the Truly awesome! achievement in Rayman Legends - Definitive Guide

Edit: I've been told the dailies are visually updating properly again. Thanks for the heads up!

You need 6000 points from cups to reach Awesomeness level 11 for this achievement. If you complete everything in the game and get all diamond cups on all paintings you will only be just over the 10th level of Awesomeness, with 4184 points.

To get the other 1816 points you must do daily and weekly challenges. This is where it gets rough because you are competing directly against other players' scores to determine what type of cup you get on the challenges.

To get Diamond you must be in the top 1% of all players who completed it. That means that on the average daily challenge with 1200 to 2500 players only the top 12 to 25 will get Diamond. Do not pull your hair out trying for these. A LOT of people that are already awesomeness 11 just keep doing challenges. Maybe they just love the game. Maybe they are blocking the top tier so newbies cant get diamonds. I dunno. I've only managed 5 diamond cups in the 3.5 weeks I have been doing challenges.

For Gold the top 1.01% to 20.00% get it. That is a nineteen fold increase over Diamond and much, MUCH more obtainable. Out of 1000 players, rank 11 to 200 will get gold, 190 players total for every 1000 challengers. Try to get in the top 15% though if you do it earlier on when there are still 5 or more hours left because a lot of folks jump in at the end and can bump you out of gold if you are around the bottom end of the golds (top 18-19%).

Silver only requires you to be in the top 20.01 to 50.00%. Out of 1000 players that would be rank 201 to rank 500. Extremely easy to do, especially if you have finished the main game and gained mad skillz.

Bronze is from 50.01% to 90.00%. If you cant get into the top 90 out of every 100 players to do a challenge then you probably can't finish the single player achievements anyway and probably aren't going for this one.

A Diamond cup is worth 50 points; Gold is worth 10; Silver is 5; and Bronze is a whopping 1 point.

There are two daily challenges each day and two weeklies, for a total of 16 challenges a week. So the max points per week is as follows:

Diamond every challenge: 50 x 16 = 800 ppw (points per week) or 2.27 weeks of doing every challenge

Gold every challenge: 10 x 16 = 160ppw or 11.35 weeks of doing every challenge

Silver every challenge: 5 x 16 = 80ppw or 22.7 weeks of doing every challenge

Bronze every challenge: 1 x 16 = 16ppw or 113.5 weeks of doing every challenge (that is just over 2 years!).

A more realistic goal for most gamers will be getting Gold on most challenges, with maybe 2 or 3 diamond cups on a "Go as far as you can" weekly as these are easier to get diamonds on since you have a week to keep practicing and memorizing the obstacles, with a handful of silver medals on the occassional daily challenge you just cant seem to nail down.

Assuming you gold everything, with 4 diamond cups total by the time you are done and 3 silver cups a week on a harder daily challenge or two, you're looking at still finishing the game right around the same time frame as doing all gold medals, or 11.5 weeks-ish.

If you do all golds, no diamonds, and three silvers a week it only stretches it to 12.52 weeks to finish. What does that mean? Don't stress out and get carpal tunnel trying to get diamonds. Just try to get solidly in gold territory and finish the game around the 12 to 13 week time frame.

Lastly, there are various types of challenges:

Get them quickly! - If this shows up as the Regular daily or weekly it is your best chance for a Diamond because you can bring in a co op buddy (local only). Having two players grabbing lums is much faster than solo, although its pretty cheap. The goal is to meet a specified lum total as fast as you can. You cannot bring a buddy into the Extreme daily or Extreme weekly, however.

Get there quickly! - This is your basic speed run. Either fall down the infinite pit, climb the infinite tower, smash through the dojo, or sprint through a horizontal level as fast as you can.

Go as far as you can! - whether pit, tower, dojo, or horizontal you just have to go as far as you can without dying. The horizontal and tower versions have a death wall that chases behind you, but it seems to stall for a second if you do. Just don't stop too long. The dojo version of this is "as many as you can" where you keep going from one room to the next smashing plates and balloons to get lums. The rooms get progessively trickier, to an extent, but the basic layout repeats often so you can get pretty good at this one.

I suggest looking at youtube video tutorials on how to gain a lot of speed for the speedrun challenges, because these are by far the hardest to get gold on. Good luck!

Apparently it's just the lum rewards that are doubled (Which I don't seem to be getting anyway).

For anyone interested,

It took me 42 days of doing every daily and weekly challenge to get the remaining points to hit level 11. I was averaging about 4 diamonds a week.

Overall from challenges I got:

24 Diamond
68 Gold
1 Silver
1 Bronze

I am glad its finally over :)

So, most of this challenge is attained by playing through the game and all that? The remaining rank is against other players.. Does it not get easier if less people are playing?

Fewer people playing = harder to get gold/diamond cups.

It is so much easier to get diamond cups now that it is Games With Gold. There wont be an easier time to get this achievement.

For example, yesterday 50,000+ took part in the daily challenge. That means you have to be in the top 500 for a diamond. When I was playing before, only around 1,000 would do the daily meaning you had to be top 10 for a diamond.

I'm playing now that the game is free and I'm getting gold on everything, but no luck with diamond yet. What are the best types of challenges to aim for diamond? Any videos or tips for that?
0

By SiegfriedX on 05 Mar 2015 15:40
The distance challenges are probably the easiest, as they're easiest to practice and you don't need laser-perfect timing to the millisecond like you do with speed challenges. No real tips since they're randomly generated other than practice, practice, practice. I got like 14 diamonds or so back when not nearly as many people were playing, and I'm not a god at platformers.

@LifeExpectancy Yeah, your experience is pretty on par with mine. Yesterday I got a diamond on the distance challenge after trying for 1 hour. Since the collect challenges can be done with 2 people I don't have anyone to play with me, those are pretty much out of chance for diamond.

@sniffles x thanks for the videos, they surely help with the speed challenges!

By MajimaActual on 14 Mar 2015 19:34
It is lol. When I played you had to be top 20-30 for the weekly for diamonds. Now, you can be like top 500 to get a diamond from what I hear. Get it while you can folks.

Also having it go GwG was a nice boost to my review votes. Tons of upvotes on my Rayman review since it went GwG lol.

Have done this on 360 but now I'm double dipping.
I'm just taking it easy and doing gold or silver and move on. I found its not worth the effort to practice. I just took whatever I get in my first try which is like 65% silver 30% gold and 5% bronze. However I have yet to earn bronze for the X1 version

Most likely. It is based on Ubisoft's servers. I cant see them keeping the servers up indefinitely. Although I do believe the 360 version's servers are still live so it may not be discontinued anytime soon. Still, if u want the completion sooner is always better with stuff like this.

I was never able to get a single diamond, so this ended up taking me 132 days from when I first started the game. For those just starting, would recommend doing the daily challenges as soon as they open instead of waiting for you to complete the game.

By MoneyShot360 on 07 Oct 2015 15:29
I'm landing in the top 300 on challenges pretty consistently now, and I've never once gotten a diamond from them (I came close once or twice though not long after it was GWG.)

Yesterday I might have gotten a diamond if about 800 more people had done the normal daily, but for some reason less people had played it than extreme.

I just play the game for 10 minutes a day, make sure I get silver and get gold if I can. Only got under 400 left, been grinding this cheevo out for over 3 months now! But I'm not spending ages trying to get golds all the time, easier just to get silver and forget about it until tomorrow, although it takes longer.

Still plenty of low-skill plebs playing. ~10k for challenges that take no effort to register on, like "Go as far as you can challenges" where the minimum is just a handful of lums or steps. Makes it easy to get diamonds on most challenges if you're willing to put in the time (other than trying to beat dojo coop-ers while playing solo; very hard.)

Watch youtube vids and record your own gameplay when you fail distance challenges to get better. Watch ghosts on dojo and speedruns as you improve to learn tricks to speed up. I learned this just days before finishing, but there's a good reason all the top players use Globox on dojo challenges...

Hey everyone. Just a friendly reminder that the longer you wait to do this, the tougher it will be. I consider myself to be a pretty good platformer (in general) and sometimes I find myself struggling to get gold on the daily extreme challenge because most of the people who play the challenges anymore are people who are obsessed with the game (i.e. really good at it!). As of now only around 1000 people play the daily extreme challenge on any given day. So get your cups in, quick!

I hate those campers who do nothing but play this game, I’m 200% sure most of those are cheats after looking at their records! One of the challenges was up to 11.0km in a distance challenge only 5min after starting. Seeing as it takes more than 5mins to run that, I’m calling cheater.

I wouldn’t bother with diamond cups anyone, they’ve been made out of reach by a pathetic few.

They either just love the game or are intentionally trying to cock block the leaderboards for daily diamond. Probably the latter. Playing that much for that long, it probably isnt hard for them to post a ridiculous score/time/distance.

So that's it after playing since autumn last year everyday the daily challenges. One of the most f*cked Up achievements ever.
My top: don't go for diamond, that is nearly impossible (I didn't got a diamond in the daily challenges at all..) watch the tutorials on YouTube for higher speed and you'll get gold medals easily. If don't, don't waste time on it

Finally. 80 days later, or over 11 weeks as the guide says, I am done. Managed to get all golds every day bar one. Definitely no point going for diamonds, since they’re made almost unattainable by the god-like players who still hang around and can pull off the advanced movement.

It really helps if you enjoy the game.

By vbailo on 04 Mar 2022 15:38
It’s true that it is much harder to get gold with less people playing, but it’s also true it’s much easier to keep your gold too. I’m down to my final few weeks, and every time I get gold on dailies and weeklies it sticks. No one ever bumps me out to silver, even when I’m right on the threshold. If you’re logging in every day to play, getting gold is trivial. This achievement is not so bad as long as you’re willing to commit.

I agree, platinum cups are very difficult to get unless you cheat. I got my achievement today and i managed to get only 1 platinum cup and it was from a weekly challange. Golds are usually easy to get especially from dojo challanges and speedruns after you learn some basic tricks. The problematic chllanges you mentioned are those that require some effort to complete to the noob crowd doesnt even bother to finish it to be registered on the leaderbords.

I wish gold was at least 20-25 points. 10 just feels measly. Almost got 1mil lums and not even halfway to max awesome yet. As fast as you can on Infinite Tower is the worst for me and so the goal of always getting at least golds every day diminishes the more attempts you make to beat your time, only to fail. And ghosts I find just really distracts me.

I hate this achievement. :(

Tip from me if you're going for this: shoot for silver (or better if you can). Only play each challenge once, maybe twice to avoid getting frustrated. Sometimes you'll have a good day, other times not so much. Accept that that's alright. Opening the game every so often to spend 2 minutes is not nearly as bad as spending 50 minutes to get diamond, only to have it taken from you later.

I can’t get my head around the notion that so many people are still playing this to cock block the achievement, it’s absurd. Only other reason I can think of is that there’s been no new game since this one so they won’t move on.

Do they know what they’re doing? Is there a community behind it? Do they laugh at us with their Rayman plushies? Questions that’ll never be answered. It would be funny if it wasn’t so annoying.

It seems the diamond cups got much harder, as I did not manage to get one in my four months of doing challenges. (Took really long because of server issues in August/September and cups not being awarded on occasion.)

There's less people playing the challenges, so naturally less people can acquire the Diamond cups. A lot of the people who continue to play this game are decent at it, and there's not large enough inflation from random players to make this a reasonable goal.

Even the gold cup can be a slight challenge sometimes. If you still have to complete this, I would hurry, before the situation gets worse, or the servers close.

Took me exactly 4 weeks of grinding the challenges after I completed the main game.

About 1/2 of my total trophies were Diamond with the rest being Gold.

I really had no choice but to force myself to get better at this game b/c there are much less people playing the game now than at the game's peak making it much harder to break into the top 1%.

Make sure to turn ghosts on once you've played your best to see how better players are doing the same areas. There are some tricks you could learn from watching their ghosts.

The best chance getting Diamond trophies for the average player is the distance challenges where you have to get as far as possible. Every course has a section where it separates the Gold players from the Diamond players. If you can just make it past that part then you can safely secure Diamond. These are easier to do b/c all you need is practice to get past some tricky parts.

The speed run challenges are extremely difficult as they require using tricks to increase your speed that the average player will not have the skill or dexterity to execute effectively. When it comes to these challenges be prepared to restart over and over and over until you get a perfect run if you plan on going for Diamond.

There is a trick where if you spin attack and jump while letting go of directional input will give you more speed than if you were to keep pressing forward. Executing this trick puts you into a state called a "Neutral Slide". There is a follow up trick to preserve your momentum once you go into a neutral slide where you press down and jump at the same time. This is tricky b/c it also gives you a higher and longer jump depending on the timing of your execution which will result in a different path which you must adapt to.

The challenges where you are in the Dojo are by far the most hopeless of them all if you do not have a second player to help you. The top 1% ALWAYS have a co-op partner help them with the score so dont ever expect to get Diamond on these challenges without one.

All in all, this is a very time consuming achievement that requires sufficient amount of skill to achieve in a timely fashion. Quite honestly the trophy points are completely unbalanced with Diamond being the only real practical reward. Had the Gold trophy been worth 25 points then this achievement would not be so insane especially given that as time goes on it will be harder and harder to get Diamond when less people are playing.

Have to agree with you,m8. Most games I got diamond for was speed runs. I do not know the tricks of how to break boost from stand alone position but I know how to use environment to get boost - that is the key. And yes, as xMANNY FRE5Hx mentioned above, key is a ghost of better person so you can find a trick or just one particular area/moment where you are loosing 1sec or 0,5 of it
In my opinion a lot easier than "go as far as you can" - I just could not be bothered to learn and memorising obstacles - focus on what you think you get diamond. It is worth 5x more that gold so its well worth your time. Even if you have got just bronze on one challenge and you know you can get diamond on the other, just focus on diamond one. Its 51pts rather than 20pts ( two golds ) - over two times more.
Dojo - I'm shit here as well :D. Got diamond once or twice- Thats it. I could not be asked anymore.
Find something you are good at and train :). Seriously. You've got diamond - try and get better time/go further/grab more lumes by watching ghosts. When similar challenge appears , you're at home.
Currently I'm at 5674. Got diamond today for quick drop and gold for dojo (played 2 min for gold) so +60. Hopefully tomorrow quick drop will be as an extreme daily challenge so I can get 50 pts closer to 6k :). Fingers crossed by the end of next weekend I will be done!!! HaHaha (evil laugh :P )
As previously said -it is crucial to step up and try and get diamond just in one discipline. Just one will get you to your "beloved" achievement :D a LOT faster. Unless you've got time to play for the next 3-5 months everyday :).
I've started game exactly on the 1st of March but I've not played challenges since day one. Give or take I'm on 5,5 week straight. Got bronze, silver, gold but also Ive got diamonds :).
Good solution - kudos from me:) And to all of you - good luck folks - Diamond cup is your ultimate goal! :)

Just got this achievement today. Decided to jump back on it a few weeks ago since it was a free game and figured there would be tons of players so getting diamonds might be a possibility. That was exactly the case. I got diamonds on 95% of the challenges. The only reason I didn't get it was cause I just didn't have enough time that day.

Believe it or not the most annoying one for me was the go as far as you can ones. I know I'm in the minority here lol

The easiest for me were the speed ones and collecting the lums. While not a pro at it I moderately used the tactic you described. I also got diamonds with out even using it. The sheer amount of players made this a possibility.

Now the dojo.. This is the only point I would have disagree with you. I got diamonds on all of them, solo. It's not easy but doable. You just need to memorize the rooms, get the lums quickly and turn on ghosts. Ghosts help tremendously here. Again this only possible cause of the massive influx of players since it was a free game.

Hopefully my comment further helps anyone currently going for diamonds. It's still highly skill based and not all will be able to get diamonds. But If you wanted to give it a shot. Now is the time.

Overall a great solution and a + vote from me.

Gratz on the achievement its a beauty. smile

Warning: Glitched for some, see the Roadmap for workarounds

You gain Awesomeness from collecting cups from levels, Diamond cups are worth 50 points, Gold are 10, Silver are 5, and Bronze are 1. You should reach Awesomeness level 10 just by finishing the game and collecting all the Teensies. To reach the 11th and final level you'll need to play the Daily and Weekly challenges to get the remaining awesomeness points you require (should be around 2000).

Daily and Weekly challenges are timed challenges that last either a day or a week that you can win cups in. For getting a cup in these challenges you receive Awesomeness points. You can see how many you have in the "My Stuff" section of the menu. Depending on your skill level this could take anywhere from 20 days if you get a Diamond cup every day to around 2000 days if you can only get bronze. It's also possible that you can go away without a cup if you really struggle with the challenges, and then this will take a lot longer.

To put it bluntly, this will take a lot of dedication.

This message is for those who just want to embark on getting this platinum, I hope you see this before embarking on the journey to platinuming this game, I'll advise you start the challenges from the first day you start playing this game, I didn't know the requirements about the trophy until I completed the game, so it's a real deal for me right now because it's now more of a chore, as I play it religiously every day now, making the platinum take longer than tlit should have. I'm not so good at the game as such, but I aim for the silver trophies for every day/weeks challenge, I could be lucky enough to get the gold trophies in my play, but I don't bank so much on it, so by my math, it would take me about 6 months to complete, if I remain consistent with the daily 2 silver trophies, so If I get the gold trophy, good or diamond, awesome. I never got the diamond but, I just stay consistent with the silver trophies. I hope this helps someone.

To reach the final level of Awesomeness, you need a total of 6000 points. Every cup you get (bronze, silver, gold and diamond) in single player and in the "Challenges" painting reward you of a certain amount of points:

  • Bronze (1 point)
  • Silver (5 points)
  • Gold (10 points)
  • Diamond (50 points)

If you complete 100% of the single player, you will have a total of 4150 points which means you will need to obtain 1850 points in the online challenges. As the scores required to earn either a bronze, silver, gold or diamond online are not predetermined by Ubisoft. The score you get is an average of your rank in the leaderboard and the amount of people who took the challenge. Here’s an example of what happens if 1000 players took the challenge:

  • If your rank position is 901-1000 (90%-100%), you won’t win any cup.
  • If your rank is position is 501-900 (50%-90%), you will win a bronze cup.
  • If your rank is position is 201-500 (20%-50%), you will win a silver cup.
  • If your rank is position is 11-200 (1%-20%), you will win a gold cup.
  • If your rank is position is 1-10 (1%), you will win a diamond cup.

If there are more people taking the challenges, it will be easier to obtain higher cups and it will be much harder as people stop taking the challenges. Most of the time, it’s fairly possible get a gold cup on every challenge.

For example, if you get a gold cup everyday:

  • 2 challenges per day x 10 points = 20 points (2x10=20)
  • 7 days in a week x 20 points = 140 points (7x20=140)
  • + 2 weekly challenges x 10 points = 40 points (2x10=20)
  • 140 points + 20 points = 160 points per week (140+20=160)
  • 1850 points total / 160 = 11.56 weeks. (1850/160=11.56)
  • 11.56 weeks x 7 days in a week = 80.93 days to unlock the achievement (11.56x7=80.93)

That is the average of time it will take for everyone to unlock the achievement. Of course, I made these calculations with a Gold cup and not with a Diamond cup because only 1% of the players get that score. It is EXTREMELY hard to earn a Diamond cup online. Of course, if you can manage to get a Diamond cup every day, it will take 2.3 weeks to unlock the achievement, but don’t forget that as time goes on, less people are playing and these cups might remain only for the best players in the world.

The most moronic achievement in the game. It is not difficult, but VERY long (for this class of games).

The essence of the achievement is that you need to earn the maximum level of coolness. The maximum level is 11. With 100% completion of the single-player campaign and earning all the diamond cups, you will be level 10 (4000 experience points). To reach the next level (6000 experience points) you need to take part in COMPETITIONS (in the English version - challenges). In challenges you also earn cups. Since it is almost impossible to earn a diamond cup (it is worth 50 points), by default we will consider the gold cup to be the maximum reward - it is worth 10 points. We can complete two daily competitions per day (simple and extreme) - therefore, per day we can earn a maximum of 20 points. Before level 11 you need to earn 2000 points. This means that with everyday play and mandatory earning of gold, obtaining this achievement will take us 100 days. Also, do not forget that there are also weekly competitions (simple and extreme) - they are a little more difficult, and you will receive a reward only once a week (that is, a maximum of 20 points per WEEK).

Bottom line - Try to play in every competition every day and week, try to earn at least a gold cup, and even better a diamond - but it is VERY difficult. And in about 3-4 months the achievement will be yours.

I would recommend starting the challenges every day as soon as you unlock them, no matter how far you are in the game. And then, by the time you complete the game, you will need fewer experience points to achieve the last level of coolness.

I am a fairly mediocre platformer player and do not have the opportunity to devote an extremely large amount of time to playing the console. I came up with a principle for myself: it’s better to get a silver cup than to spend tens of minutes to get a gold one. For bronze we get 1 point, and for silver we get 5 points (the difference is five times). A gold cup gives 10 points (twice as much as a silver one), but it takes disproportionately more time.

It’s easier to knock out everyone’s bryuliki in weekly challenges, because... On average, from 2500 to 5000 players play per week, therefore the diamond percentage is the top 25-50, which is much simpler, and there is also enough time, consider a week

To accumulate points faster, you can use the Murphy Reset Glitch ( https://youtu.be/uUOxB3dQnoY ) for the “Bottomless Pit. Try Your Best” challenge, which allows you to fall endlessly. The Diamond Cup is guaranteed to you.

If at first it’s hard to get gold in weekly challenges, don’t give up; after a week or two you’ll spend 30 minutes, because... they are very similar and it will become a habit that you won’t want to leave this game
