For ironman mode, this one is a bit glitchy for activation, so you have to create a new game then activate ironman mode and on the difficulty selection screen choose Standard difficulty at the same time as you spam the X key without releasing you must continue at the same time as you confirm the Standard difficulty and continue to spam the X key for 2-3 seconds while loading, after loading a message appears on the screen that details the game, a red line will appear informing you that deaths are final which confirms that ironman mode is active, and if you exit the menu and select your save you will see that ironman mode is activated with a skull appearing in the progress circle, and if you die close your game directly using the guide button this will not delete your save because of your death be quick to close the game and it should be fine
