Hack 10 transponders successfully

How to unlock the Hardcore Hacker achievement in Rebel Galaxy - Definitive Guide

This cheevo will be awarded for successful hacking of 10 different transponders in total.

As you are flying around the various solar systems every so often you will get 1 of 2 different notifications, either a distress signal or unidentified signal received, both have achievements attached to them.

For this cheevo you are looking for the unidentified signal. Once you see this head towards the purple marker and you should see a small satellite. Once you are close enough hold cn_A to hack it. Then you will have to press the shown button sequence before the time runs out.

This is a very easy cheevo to get but the placement is completely random so I can't give locations and be sure once you have hacked a transponder you then land asap to save progress because if you die before saving you progress will be missing all you have hacked since the last save.

Also worth noting at time of writing the siege breaker cheevo for breaking 10 seiges seems to pop for a lot of people when getting this specific cheevo as I did for me too, as this works in our favour hopefully it won't get patched too soon laugh

Sometimes while in warp, you'll get an "unidentified signal" alert and flying to this signal position reveals a satellite which can be hacked. To hack it, you initiate a QTE (Quick Time Event). Now punch in all the buttons in the correct order and one of several things result, including informing you of a mining or looting opportunity, updating your maps of the latest commodity prices across all the stations in that system or updating your map of bounty locations. You'll encounter way more than 10 in 1 playthrough.

Repeaters are objects found randomly in space. While flying in warp, you may receive a message about receiving an unidentified signal (Unidentified Signal, similar to the distress beacon of a merchant in trouble or a pirate ambush). Stop and scan the area. The repeater will be indicated by a purple symbol on the radar, just like a regular signal. Fly up to it and complete the mini-game.

When a repeater is hacked, profitable mining locations, pirates with a bounty on their heads, all prices in all stores, etc. are indicated on the sector map.
