You will gain a new Guild rank for every 50 rep in your guild of choice, meaning you'll need 250 rep for rank 5. Both Guilds (Merchants' and Mercenaries') are quick to rank up if you're not wasting time with lower rewarding missions.

There are 2 Guilds in Rebel Galaxy, the Merchant's Guild and the Mercenaries' Guild. Once you pay a small fee and join either guild you can go to any guild station (look for their unique icons) including the one you're at to pick up guild-specific missions. Merchant missions typically involve finding commodities for a special client or delivering commodities to somewhere and sometimes dead drops and combat missions. Mercenary missions are usually kill or escort one. Keep doing guild missions to rank up. It takes 50 rep points to level up each rank (linear progression). If you want some of the guild specific ships like the Radovich or Sturville then you'll need to rank up.

After joining any guild (merchants, mercenaries, etc. for joining, see the tips for the corresponding trophies), the player receives a mark about the rank in this guild. The rank is visible when you press the triangle in space (relationships with factions are displayed on the right, and guild ranks are displayed on the left above the event log), as well as at the bottom of the screen when you are at a guild station.

Ranks range from 1 to 10, increasing for every 50 units of reputation in the guild (at least at the beginning this is exactly the case).
Reputation increases in the same way as with any other faction, by completing missions that have the appropriate instructions. Such missions are taken on at guild stations and some other stations.

Increasing your rank gives you access to purchase specific ships and guild equipment. For an initial trading guild, an increase is advisable, because They have a very interesting offer for bilge expanders.
