How to unlock the Torpedo Buster achievement in Rebel Galaxy - Definitive Guide

- Put 2-4 Flak Turrets on your ship
- Find yourself a hostile missile platform ("Militia Deserter" missions in the late game usually have platforms there, also hostile stations of course)
- Clear out enemy capital ships/fighters
- Place yourself about 8-10 klicks away from the platform
- Switch to flaks, go to precision aiming (LT) and start taking down the incoming missiles, they count as torpedoes for the achievement.

This will take a while so put on some music or a movie on the side to distract yourself from the madness you are engaged in, shooting down torps for an hour. :)

It seems that non-beam broadsides have a good chance of taking down incoming torpedoes too, so if you keep those throughout the game you could get it through normal gameplay.
The Flak Gun secondary weapon on the other hand didn't do anything for me, I thought that would be the optimal way for getting this while just progressing through the campaign, but didn't got a single torpedo in 4 hours of gameplay.

Just got this through normal gameplay. I never targeted a single torpedo, outfitted my Blackgate with 50/50 Beam Turrets and Pulse Turrets. Every engagement I checked my stats for awhile and got anywhere from 1-3 torpedo's.

I used Pulse Turrets the whole game so had around 300 when I decided to start checking. Hunting for the Pirate Lords gives you plenty of opportunity (unless you are doing the save/reload method)

Highly recommend Pulse Turrets if you don't want to sit around targeting manually, Good Luck!

Easiest way to get this without grinding this is just to equip your ship with Pulse Turrets in every slot from as early in the game as you can. Each time you upgrade your ship and get more weapon ports, stick pulse turrets on them.

They'll catch missiles & torpedoes when you're shooting at other craft. By the end of the game, ships are shooting swarms of missiles at you and I was commonly getting 10-15+ per large engagement.

By the end of the game, I had over 700 torpedoes shot down and I didn't manually aim at a single one.

If you still need to grind this, there's an extra bit of kit that allows you to target missiles and torpedoes that costs 96000 credits, just sit about 6000sm away from a target that uses missiles and go into precision aiming mode.

For this you will need the ordnance targeting component and scatter turrets. Turn your turrets to manual fire only.

The easiest, and fastest, way to do this is to wait until you finish the campaign and have a powerful ship with mark 5/6 shields and hull. Go to a Red Devil station and find one of their raiding frigates which drops mines and shoots missiles. Switch to manual firing for your turrets and basically fly in a circle around the ship, which will in turn be flying in a circle around you, so you will basically just be keeping your same position to each other in space. The mines counted toward my torpedo count, along with the missiles. It only took about twenty minutes to grind this out, but they were a terribly dull, motion sickness inducing twenty minutes that made me question whether it was worth it.

This trophy requires a module upgrade called the Ordnance Tracker, which when equipped allows you to target missiles and torpedoes when you control the turret manually. It's highly unlikely you'll get anywhere near 500 naturally as most of the time your turrets are on automatic and on auto they can't track missiles and torpedoes. You'll have to farm this by finding a capital ship that lobs them, then stay out of range and let it keep firing them at you. Missiles fly faster, usually come in packs, while torpedoes are slow and flash like a spark as they travel towards you. Either counts for the trophy. This trophy can be tricky as it requires manual targeting and they lock only at 2m distance, which doesn't give you a lot of time to shoot missiles down but torpedoes are slow so they aren't a problem. If you find a capital ship that fires missiles and torpedoes at you, you can farm this and get it done in less than an hour. You can also find a station which has a missile defense system but that seems to be quite rare.

Missiles and torpedoes shot down accidentally by Flak, Broadsides and Turrets count as well but it's unlikely you'll get 500 from playing naturally, because it's rare to hit them using broadsides and turrets and you'll quickly switch from flak to other secondary weaponry like missiles as flak isn't very effective.

Once I figured out how to easily do this, it took about 10 minutes to knock out around 200 torpedoes. Missiles count as torpedoes as well.

I used the Polaris dreadnought and outfitted it with mostly scatter and a few flak turrets -- I recommend at least 6-8 scatter -- the more powerful the better. Ordinance tracker is a must as well.

Find a destroyer or dreadnought -- something that's relatively slow and releases swarm missiles and preferably torpedoes or other missiles as well (I happened to get this against a pirate lord, but that's not necessary). The more it fires, the better. You will want to disable the automatic firing of the scatter turrets in the menu as you'll also want to kill any other fighters that are in the way first. When you have the situation one-on-one, switch to manual targeting of the scatter guns and go after all the swarm missiles and whatever other missiles it fires. Do not go after the ship -- eventually you'll slowly circle around each other; it'll fire 6-10 missiles every 15 seconds or so and you'll mow them down.

Difficulty: Easy, but misunderstood

Might want to go for this trophy last as by then you'll already have a lot of stats in this field and the cash to pull this off in minutes.

First you need the subsystem called Ordinance Targeting and at least one fairly decent turret. I used a Flak turret for my main gun.

Secondly press start and change your settings for each turret to Manual Only (in the Tactical Section).

Finally you need to find a Capital ship (The large ones). Try a rebel base or piss off the Militia. Try and keep around 4-5sm away and ensure you only have the one opponent to focus on. Hold L2 and you can target all missiles coming from your enemy and destroy them with your turret(s).

Note 1: If you don't switch your turrets to manual they will destroy the opponent.

Note 2: The reason you want to do this last is to ensure your Battleship is strong enough to take a lot of damage while you focus on shooting ordinance.

Note 3: You can check how many missiles and torpedoes you've shot down in "Stats" under the System screen (Press Start).

A way to fill 500 tormeds in 10 minutes. At the end of the game, when you have a dreadnought, equip only Pulse Turret in all slots. It is better to fire the mercenary if you have one, as he will only get in the way. All weapons need to be configured so that they only hit Fighters.

Next you need to find the Capital ship, which fires a pack of missiles. You need to stay 1v1 with him. Switch to manually firing turrets. Next, using for protection from enemy fire and for targeted fire and turrets, we shoot down 2-3 missiles per salvo. I suspect that the rest of the missiles are also shot down automatically, since I scored the required number of points in about 10 minutes.

In statistics, the “Torpedoes fired” counter indicates the number of torpedoes shot down, not the number of shots fired. Thanks to the translators.

The trophy will be collected automatically if you use Pulse Turret in all weapon slots.

Be sure to install the Ordnance targeting upgrade on the ship.

I stuffed it myself using the same method.

I haven't been able to get a quick hit with the Pulse Turret.
Knocked it out in 10 minutes using:
1) Take the dreadnought (I took the Black Gate)
2) Place Scatter Turret (Cassette Turret, preferably Mk6) in all slots
3) Go to the tactics settings and switch to manual in all slots
4) We fly to another dreadnought, or torpedo barge
5) Switch to manual control and shoot down volleys of torpedoes
But it's better to watch it once

Torpedoes often get shot down by themselves during the game. When they launch a portion at you, if they come under fire from turrets, or if at the right moment you fire a broadside. Current process statistics can be seen in the system menu (what is during the game process, not the main game menu).

The only difficulty is that you don’t come across enemies with torpedoes very often.

During the game, you will achieve most of the required results, even if you don’t really focus on it. You can also buy a special subsystem that allows you to aim at missiles if you are very short at the end of the game.
