How to unlock the Friendo achievement in Rec Room - Definitive Guide

There are two ways to get this achievement, both are only doable after you first leave your dorm room.
1, (Easy boring way) While in ^RecCenter open your watch (menu button) select People and press the green friend button next to a random person's name.
2, (Harder much better way) While outside your DormRoom (eg ^RecCenter) select gestures (DPad-right) and handshake (Add Friend). With your hand out walk around and stand in front of someone. If they select the same gesture while looking at you, you will shake hands and a pop up will say Friend added.

Second method doesn't work, I tried It 2 times.
Just sending friend request is enough for for It to trigger.
