How to unlock the Titular achievement in Record of Agarest War - Definitive Guide

See here for a full list of titles:

http://agarest.wikia.com/wiki/Titles

This is the hardest achievement in the game. It will be one of the last achievements you obtain and is second only to "Master" in the amount of time it will take you to grind it out. Below are some tips on gaining some of the titles and greatly reducing the time it will take to do so:

Titles 1-15

These titles require you to kill a certain number of monsters and finish a certain number of battles. They will come naturally through the game and you will unlock them all in the Boundary Plane if you get the true end. They are also possible to obtain via auto battling for which you will need a wired controller or one with a play and charge kit plugged in. (This prevents a wireless controller going into standby). Move to a quest area where you can easily defeat the monsters and where they are, preferably, far enough below your level that you'll seldom level up. Simply hold down the left stick with a rubber band/weight and then press select when in a battle to turn on the "auto" mode. You now only need to touch the controller when a character levels up or you reach 99 items so you can do something else when the game is playing itself. Try and equip skills on your characters that result in high combo counts to increase your TP gain between battles. It's also a good idea to do this in the early generations as a few of the items your receive are extremely useful at that point in the game as is the extra TP.

Titles 16-22

These require you to do a certain amount of damage in one block of attacks up to 1 million. This may seem daunting but they will come naturally. By the end of the Boundary Plane you will regularly be doing millions of damage to bosses using Ex2 and Ex3 attacks/special attacks.

Titles 23-28

These titles are awarded for reaching a high combo count up to a maximum of 400. Even in the late game, unless you set up correctly, this can be hard to achieve. The easiest way is to load up with four Knuckle Users and Winfield along with a Mage or Spear User and fight a low level monster. (The Spear, Gun and Mage have enough range to still hit the enemy when surrounded by the 4 knuckle users) Have your Knuckle users and Winfield loaded up with Axel Rave (Rapid Move + Rush + Rush Beat). Each of these will deal 72 hits to a broken enemy giving you 360 hits. Your Spear User should be using Execution (Double Edge + Cross Edge + Square Cross) which deals 48 hits. A Mage can simply use multiple copies of Stardust (16AP for 12 Hits). As an aside you should be using these skills throughout the game as well as even with lower combo counts/fewer uses of the skills together it will add up to a lot more TP from every battle.

Titles 29-30

These are awarded for completing your Esoteric Book which you can do by either performing each art or by finding every Esoteric Book and Secret Arts Book. (You will receive these from Chests in quest area, Events, Titles and in Exchange for TP from the Adventurers guild). As long as you buy the books from the guild, are following the perfect path (from the Agarest wiki) and make sure to get every chest from the quest areas then you will unlock these naturally.

Titles 31-64

Each of these titles requires you to kill a certain number of various types of monsters some of which only appear in certain generations. Monsters you fight during quest events do not count towards these titles. Do not be overly concerned with these through normal gameplay. The best time to attempt these is more than a generation after you first encounter an enemy. Press X to return to the location select screen and then return to the continent of a previous generation. Try and fight as many of the enemies as you can in quest areas so that it does not add turns to your counter (the vast majority can be found in the various quest areas). The advantage of fighting them when you are much stronger is two fold: firstly it makes the process much, much quicker as the battles are over in a few attacks. Secondly it allows you to easily overkill all the enemies netting you items that will be useful for further titles and crafting, again saving you hours of time down the line.

Titles 65-82, 91

You will only be able to unlock these titles if you are in the final generation (i.e. True end). They are awarded for defeating each of the six gods and every boss in the Boundary Plane. Check thee Roadmap and "The Fifth" for boss strategies. You will receive Title 91 when defeating Chaos in Hard mode.

Titles 83-86

You cannot miss these titles, your receive them for finishing each generation.

Titles 87-90

These are unlocked when acquiring each of the missable characters in the 5th generation:

> Dyshana: Conversation event on Marena Highway. Must be NEUTRAL.
> Murima: Joins on the southwest route to Karunikara.
> Vashtor: Do not do anything to him for 7 turns during his fight.
> Beatrice: Joins in a conversation event at Limberg.

Titles 92-116

These titles are awarded for acquiring a set number of items, you must hold all the items listed at one time. Most of these relate to monster drops, usually for overkilling them, and can be combined with titles 31-64 (they are also best completed using the same technique to save time). Some titles require you to craft/obtain certain items but you will unlock these naturally when obtaining titles 117-121, though it is advisable to first complete the monster drop titles before going for these as many of the items will be required for crafting.

Titles 117-121

These are by far the most time consuming titles and will, most likely, be the last few you obtain. You must fill up the data->items list for everything except for active skills thus you must have held each and every item at some point in the game. I would advise only attempting these titles after you have obtained every other title and completed the full extended Boundary Plane (only available on the Hard Mode True End). At this point you should have many of the drops you need to craft the items you are missing. Go through and note the items you still require (the Agarest wiki has lists of items and requirements) and make those you can at the Blacksmith's guild. You should find that you only still need perhaps 5 or 6 higher level weapons and accessories of each type as well as a few skills. With this list break the items down into the specific drops you need so you have a list of enemies, the drops, rarity (steal, ex steal, overkill) and their locations. It's much quicker to do this at once than to constantly be looking back and forth between the lists. For example if you look at a single weapon and see you require a squid tentacle, look up the monster and go and kill it then find you have to do this again later on for another item it would be much quicker to simply note you need five or six and stay at the location until you have all you need.

If you have been using Winfield with a high LUK stat and his Ex-Steal ability on every boss (hopefully twice) these titles, and the entire achievement, will take you far, far less time. Even if you have not been using him, at this point in the game you should be able to now bring him into your party and power level him on the last few bosses then return to enemies you have already defeated. (You should be in the level 400-600 range at this point with well over 10K attack/Magic and 99999 HP making things much easier) Of Special note is that the Gods and various Boundary plane bosses have many rare drops (available via Ex Steal) that would otherwise take a lot items to craft and stealing these will be far faster than collecting the various materials you need to create them via the Blacksmith's guild.

Titles 122-126

These titles require you to accumulate 10,000,000 gold at one time. You will achieve this naturally if playing on hard in the extended Boundary Plane (By the end you will have around 100,000,000 gold) but if you want to achieve them earlier the best method is to exchange 25 TP for Vessels of Life over and over again as these sell for 50,000 GP.

Titles 127-131

You must combine monsters 50 times to obtain these titles. Wait until you have Merciful Strike and Capture and, if possible, equip both on multiple characters. Move to an area where you can easily kill monsters in one hit and simply capture 4-6 every battle and combine them afterwards. You will have to capture many monsters and combine them to obtain +999 attack and +900 magic active skills later so if you are time conscious and would rather wait until then (the end of Gen 5) you can obtain them, mostly, fairly naturally.

Titles 132-141

All these titles relate to smithing achievements. Even when completing the titles related to obtaining every item you may not perform smithing 500 times though you will undoubtedly perform enhancing 500 times. It is very important to note that if you enhance all 5 levels at once this counts as only one use of enhancement so always make sure to enhance items one level at a time. The easiest way to get these achievement is to buy 100 long Sword and 100 Silver billion, make 100 silver swords and then enhance them one level at a time back to bullion. This will cost you several million GP but may yield a good item via the blacksmith making a mistake. If you have somehow yet to obtain the "Oops" achievement you will almost certainly obtain it as well.

Title 142

Obtained when you have unlocked all other titles, the achievement won't unlock until you visit the adventurers guild and click on this title when it is green.

Is there a new game + that allows you to bring title over your next game ?

Most titles carry over and you gain the items from them at the start of the new game+ as well. Generational titles (for clearing each gen) and titles given for defeating bosses don't carry over though IIRC.

Is there seriously no counters anywhere for this stuff? You just have to keep going back to see if you killed enough or whatever?

and why won't some of the partially completed ones for the enemies killed appear? I know I killed enough of at least one type, but it's not showing me the list for that title.

Sorry this explanation is going to be short.

But in order to earn all 100 Titles you have to play the game on HARD and go for the "True Ending" I highly suggest using the Record of Agarest WIKI

There are a total of 142 titles in the game, all of which have you fulfilling various tasks. Some are easy and others are mind-boggling. You can only earn every title on HARD as some enemies needed for certain titles only appear on this difficulty. Earning all the titles could take a while, but so long as you're patient, you can earn them all in a matter of time.

List of Titles

Note: Keep in mind that for the All Weapons Title, you'll find that it's much easier to obtain a majority of the items on HARD in the Boundary Plane. Using skills such as EX Steal and killing enemies in this area with overkill will increase the chance of receiving weapons you need. This is much easier than having to find all the materials for alchemy.
