Well, thanks a lot for the work you put in but sadly after searching the map 3 times myself and then going over it with your pictures I'm still stuck at 99% so guess mine glitched cry This is such a bullshit achievement, now I have to start a new game just for this and hope to god it doesn't glitch again. This game still has so many bugs it in but I'll be using your pictures on my second playthrough so thanks again for all the work you put into them.

EDIT: After doing a speed run it turns out that the one I was missing was picture 57-58 and was there all along (I loaded up my original save to confirmed it was in fact there). There is 6 yellow polls in the sand and you knock over the 5th poll with Duncan so you can get up to the chest....Doing this blocked off my view from the cliff side and the box was hiding there just on the right side in the sand under the poll (the poll pretty much blocked it off so I could only see it from the right side).

Thank you so much again SONIXCX for all the hard work you put into these pictures and I wouldn't have gotten this if it wasn't for you efforts toast

@Sonixcx, you are awesome! Going through these tonight to see what I'm missing. Been stuck at 98% after roaming for 4-6 hours in Shifting Sands.

I just followed it and I'm still stuck at 99%, didn't find anything new. Going to assume that my game is glitched. Thanks for the guide though, was worth a shot.

Might want to check again then Ian. I just used the photos for shifting sands over the last 2 days and managed to find every last one. I went through them very slowly and made sure i was standing in exact same spot as his map reference then flipped back to picture and checked that they were all claimed.

I'm going to speedrun back to shifting sands and then use the guide, it's easier to follow the guide from scratch than try to line up where a cube was supposed to be.

I am an actual idiot. It was the one under the bridge that I was missing, just found it while doing hunting challenges. I was so sure I had that one.

Thanks for the guide and thank god I stumbled on that one lol.

Maybe this helps for some being stuck at 99%.
I was going through this awesome collection of pictures very slowly and carefully.
The one from picture 129 was not there, when i looked for it.
I ran into that one by accident later on and it was there.
maybe it is glitched.

^ Didn't help me :( But thanks anyways.

Just wanted to mention that finding the pickups is cumulative across multiple saved games, and is NOT limited to a single saved game. if you start a new game and find the missing pickup part way through, you will unlock the achievement.

Just did that for Lonely Basin :D

I think I'm missing just one crafting block, and I can't figure out how to reach it! If you open the Shifting Sands map you'll see the big robot arm. Look at its thumb and then look left (West) until you hit the dark grey outline of rock. That little tip that juts out has a cube high up, but I can't figure out how to get it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: Figured it out, you get up there from the section accessible with a FL1R near the lost crawler.

I downloaded the zip file, but when I unpack the pictures, Lonely Basin starts at #23. Am I missing pictures #1-22, or were they not included?

By Frankie DrumsNY on 21 Jan 2017 19:16
They are not missing, each area folder has 2 folders in it if i remember correctly, 1 for the hardware pickups and one for the other stuff i have forgot what it was now, in some of these folders the numbering continue so in this case the other stuff are #1-22 and the hardware pickups starts with #23 :)

liviaro The other regions do not follow that same logic--the caches have an independent numbering system and the pickups all start with #1. And I thought that might be the case, but for the Lonely Basin the caches end at #46, so it sill doesn't work out.

Once I got to the Shifting Sands after the storm, it popped even though I only had 70% progression. Maybe it's (positively) glitching up for others as well?

Thanks for doing these. I downloaded the file but ended not using them as it unlocked at 98%. Went Shifting Sands then a storm went. Got what I could then went back to Joule's Crawler. When going back to Shifting Sands unlocked in loading screen.

For anyone stuck in the 96-99% range follow the cliff on the eastern side of the map and check lower cliffs. I just found my last 4% over there, after a couple hours running all over the map like a lunatic.

Thank you very much for your guide, it helped me with one of the achievements that I lacked, it was locked in 99% of the scrap collectibles.

The other one that I lack of the diagrams I am assuming that it is bugged, because it is locked in 91% and I did not find what it would lack to unlock.

But still thank you very much.

I finally got it. my advice if you far ahead in the game and still missing hardware (especially Shifting Sands) is to start a brand new game and try not to pick up any hardware unless you are following the picture that @SONIXCX from the start. i just started a brand new game just today and finished the Warren and after that, i just look at each photo and counted to make sure that the number of hardwares matched on both the photo and game (it might also help to add all the hardware you gotten in a single area for examples there are ten hardwares once you reach Duncan's Crawlers which adds up to 250 in Shifting Sands). and this can work for the other areas, but i already gotten those. anyways good luck and happy hunting

This is easier with the Definitive Edition.

Follow either of the other two guides, and that will get you about 97% (without a lot of heavy re-hunting). If you're low, don't worry about it too much.

Then what you do, is after fighting Victor the first time in Eden Tower, return to the Shifting Sands. You'll have a notification that there can be storms now.

Once a storm starts (FYI, many purple enemies spawn, so this is a good time to farm), you can fast travel to the crawler or any dungeon. Once you fast travel back to SS, there will be new hardware pickups. Collect to your heart's content.

If you vote down, please explain in the comments.

Ok a so a few notes to this, the reason this happens is that the storms have now been altered to uncover new everything so not just Hardware but also Health boosters & Prismatic Cores (found 1 in a cave under the giant robot hand that would've been absolutely impossible to get to before the storm) however,my core counter says a total of 16 & only found 9 using the walkthrough, plus 2 at the challenge dungeons, so I think the number of cores might be set in stone but the rest surely ain't including a lots of enemies, which I might add aren't just purple but all colors depending on the storm.
You get a heads-up every time a new storm approaches & are told to seek cover in either a dungeon or a crawler, naturally the safety of Joule's own crawler seems ideal but if it's actually possible to stay out & survive (sort of like in Mad Max where it's doable but odds are you'll die) I don't know ... Edit: it is possible, even better is that the enemies seem to be mainly (if not only) the rare kinds, like purple or orange...
Finally there are rumors of the achievement popping on its own once you return to Shifting Sands after the first storm which I can confirm,I had around 94-95% when I read this solution & therefore decided to hell with the rest, got my 1st Victory against Victor, fast traveled back to SS waited for a storm, fast traveled to Joule's Crawler & back & before SS had reloaded the achievement popped, yay :)

With the Definitive Edition, I still picked up about 50 more, after getting the achievement. I am guessing that the ones in the storm have been added later...? They still count for achievement tracking so no issues with this area.

1st of all thanks for the guide smile
As for the downvoting, sadly some morons downvote solutions like this roll because of the ratio decay that comes with a much easier solution to an achievement they've struggled for days or even weeks to get, what they fail to get is that, that will always be the risk with gaining achievements in the newest games but then they get to play the game while it's brand new... it's not like there aren't any risks at playing a game late like f.ex discontinued achievements so hey, live with it, don't blame a solution creator for something that's way out of their hands, after all this is an achievement site & it's a thing made by the developers not a glitch, cheat or anything like that...

Just popped this. I beat Victor then was doing other stuff before moving to shifting sands for my last K9 challenge. A storm came as i was collecting the hardware after my challenge . Was at 56%. So I travelled to my crawler to switch zone. Came back to SS and pop achievement unlocked.

you don't even have to beat the story. I did the first floor of the tower and went back afterwards to do some challenge dungeons. This triggered the on screen message that storms are coming now the first time I got to shifting sands. When I got back after the first storm, the achievment popped without picking up anything. I had about 70-80% progress before.

I had about 60% of the 250 needed, entered a Shifting Sands dungeon to get the fast travel point. Went back outside and this popped.

I'm not sure you're correct about new Hardware appearing around Shifting Sands after a sandstorm, I've yet to see any new or extra Hardware pieces appearing in the environment. I believe the zone switches between two different versions after each sandstorm ends, so that may uncover different pieces of Hardware, but it's not adding them.

OK after playing more that's exactly what it is. After each sandstorm, it switches to the other version of the Shifting Sands. Each one has its own totals for Caches, Cores and Health Boosters, along with its own set of Hardware pickups. Which dungeons you can access is dependent on what version of the Shifting Sands it's on as well.

1% give 3 boxes per location.
The most difficult places to pay attention to:
  • At the very beginning of the location there is a destroyed bridge, behind which there is a purple dog. Jump over the bridge to the dog and look under the bridge. There's a box there.
  • Carefully examine the boxes on the all-terrain vehicle in which Duncan is with the corpse of the old owner. Not only are there boxes on the all-terrain vehicle itself, but there is a box on the lantern spire itself. It looks like a light bulb, but it's a box.
  • In the western part of the desert, near the lying hand, there is an entrance blocked with sand. You should climb onto the rocks and you can fly over on the flyer to take the box above the gate.
  • In the southeastern part of the desert there is a rock with a dungeon arena. You need to climb there on a spider. Under the rock, under the entrance to the dungeon, there is a cave, there are boxes.
  • You can climb the rock from the previous point, to its very top. There is still a torn blue flag there. There is a chest + boxes there.
  • There is a box at the very top of the fallen head. It's very easy to miss.
As a recommendation:
Climb all the mountains, climb all the ledges and cliffs, along all the edges of the maps, under bridges and rocks.

Collect as much iron as possible while playing according to the story, after the end of the story, a storm will appear in this location, after the storm, a lot of new metal will appear
