How to unlock the Prismatic Perfection achievement in ReCore - Definitive Guide
This achievement requires 80 prismatic cores (if your tracker doesn't break on you). You can get a total of 82 by going to the "unreleased" Quicksand Rally dungeon (but at your own risk of affecting future achievements).
Main game quest line (starting core & story dungeons): 7
Challenge dungeons (including Quicksand Rally): 37
Cores outside Joule's Crawler: 5
Cores in Lonley Basin: 12
Cores in The Cradle: 11
Cores in Shifting Sands: 10
Map Legend: Yellow Circles = Dig Spot Prismatic Cores, White Circles = Prismatic Core Enemy or Container, Red Circles = Health Boosters, Purple Triangles - Audio Logs.
Granite Steps Collectibles
Lonely Basin Collectibles
The Cradle Collectibles
Shifting Sands Collectibles
This should help with the challenge dungeons, although only one or two require you to get all three objectives in one run for a core. That is usually for a blueprint chest.
And if you want to do Quicksand Rally:

It doesn't appear that anyone has mentioned this but once you collect a prsimatic core in the world either from a container, an enemy or a dig spot, the symbol will disappear but the word prismatic core will still appear when you move your cursor to that spot on the map. So the easiest way to find what you are missing is use LifeExpectancy's awesome maps and hover over the spots they show and if prismatic core comes up you already have that one. I just found my last 2 dig spots in a few seconds this way instead of going through the entire 80.
Obviously dig spots never have a symbol on the map but it will come up with the words "prsimatic core" if you move the cursor over a dig spot you have already found!

Did you get all three objectives in one go? That might be one that has the final core in the center.

I appreciate the hard work that people put into videos of this kind of thing, but some people just want to know where to go. Also, some videos are not in chronological order. This guide will tell you when and where to get each item needed to complete this achievement.
You get one core from the tutorial and three more over the course of Pylon 512. So now you have (4). There are several Prismatic Cores you can find as soon as you are done with Pylon 512. You're going to need them at some point, so you may as well get them ahead of time. Straight ahead from you when you come out of Pylon 512 you see a shadow. Walk toward it and dig at the spot nearby (5) . Now look south to the structure. Climb up there and drop down. Not too far from the wall of the next structure, and to the right of the rust, is a dig spot (6). Go around the corner to the left and fight some bots then extract the object to start another battle. Hop up on the box nearby to make this battle much easier. You'll get a core (7) for your trouble. Now go back up to the door you entered this area from and jump across the platforms to get over a wall on your left. Head down there and look up at the end of the path to see a red switch that opens the door to a core (8).
Now head back out of the area and go left around the mountain, or just go back to your crawler and reenter the Lonely Basin. There is a mountain path that leads to a dig spot (9). You should have discovered the Brood Hive and you definitely have enough cores to get inside and get 2 more cores (11). North of the Pylon 512 area, near a big cable going down, a dig spot is near a cliff edge (12). On your way to the next goal, look under a small arch for a dig spot (13). Before you leave the area, go ahead and try Cavern Rush for a couple more cores (15).
Once you are in The Cradle, jump off the cliff in front of you and look to your left for a dig spot (16). On the way to the next goal, look for a battle orb for another core (17). Near another zone gate, there is a chain with a dig spot nearby (18). Once you get Seth, go back to the Granite Steps. One core is found near your crawler up a set of tracks (19). Another one is found near the exit gate, a result of a level 15 battle (20). Back in the Lonely Basin, an arch not too far from the yellow metal platforms has a cube that needs six Cell Bots from the cliffs nearby to open (one is on the column out a bit from the main cliffs). It's defended by one level 20 blue SP-DR, but between your blue charged shots and Mack you should have little trouble (21). In the northeast, there is a fast travel point near a quicksand cave and north of that is a little path leading to a battle orb (22).
Back in Pylon 512, the track in the boss room goes to a core (23). Repository Blitz gives you one for getting to the end (24) and one for beating the time. You will probably want to come back later for the time.
Go back to The Cradle and follow the path near Kai's Crawler to the other quicksand area. Past a ship on the beach is a dig spot (25). Head toward the gate leading out of this area, locked now, and climb a track to find a core (26). In the quicksand area is a lot of tracks. If you don't ride them all the way and drop down into the desert you will find a prismatic enemy with a core (27). The entrance to the Assembly is not to far from there, and you will get two cores if the key doesn't land on the ledge and you get to the end (29). Back on the tracks, ride them all the way to a platform with a chest. Keep going through ringers and platforms to reach a floating platform with this core (30). That's it for now, head on over to the Foundry to get the core from the boss there (31).
Once you enter the Shifting Sands, look on top of a hill of sand under a nearby arch for a dig spot (32).You can go do the Crucible now, just use the fast travel point to get to the one outside of Pylon 512 (34). On the way to the goal after the blocked gate there is another battle orb (35). Once you get back to this area from getting Duncan, you can fast travel again.
Go back to the Granite Steps to get the core on the ground (36) and the one above the covered bridge (37) that require him.
Now head back to the Lonely Basin area near Pylon 512. On the left side, down a small drop, is a hallway with a rock in it. Breaking it releases an enemy that gets you a core (38).
The next core is near the big square building in the Cradle. Just before you would need to jump from the second building to the track above the rocks, jump back on the same track and go the other way to get inside the second building and have Duncan smash a rock there so you can drop down to find the container (39). Now head back all the way to the big round platform outside of the Foundry, and go around to the rock you need to smash (40).
Not too far from the big arm in the Shifting Sands is the Forsaken Halls dungeon. Three of the four Cellbots are near the entrance, the other one requires a lot of running away from superior enemies. You'll get three cores for getting the non-time goals (43). West of the pointing hand, in an indentation in the rocks, is a dig spot with another core (44). Not too far the other way from the big arm is a prismatic enemy walking around. It won't notice you until you attack it, so feel free to clear out the other enemies before going after its core (45). From the backside of the rocks around the Coliseum dungeon, you can see a prismatic caterpillar that has a couple SP-DR friends. Once the last piece is broken, he drops the core (46). Now head south to the cliffs there and look for a dig spot not too far from the rocks (47). Now head back up toward the Coliseum and hop off the tracks when you see a dig spot at the base of one of them (48).Now go all the way to the far southeast of this area and enter the Acid Marsh dungeon. Head back out once you have the fast travel point active and have selected Duncan so you can head to a nearby cliff, via dashing and double jumping, where he can shatter a rock (49). Now enter the dungeon and you will get three cores for completing the basic goals (52). Now go to the Obsidian Run and get two more cores (54). Time to go to the Warren to get the FL1-R and the core that is at the end of the dungeon (55).
Now that we have the FL1-R, it's time to go wrap up the loose ends.
Head back to the crawler and toward the exit gate to the Lonely Basin from the Granite Steps. Us the vent to get to the platform nearby and break the rock after you take down the guardian Corebot (56). Now go to the northeast travel point in the Lonely Basin and climb the rocks nearby high enough to glide to the big rock in the chasm. Down a ways, on one of the lower levels, is a core container (57). Now climb back up and take the vent to the left. Keep gliding left to enter a narrow corridor that leads to a guarded core container (58).
Enter the Proving Ground dungeon now. Fortunately, it is a combat dungeon and the higher level you are the more likely you are to beat the time and get all goals (61).
Head to the south travel point in the Cradle and ride the steam over to the building and hop over a big box to get another core (62). Now go over to the House of Steel and ride the vent there to a core (63). Head back over there and enter the dungeon this time, just to mark the fast travel point.
Go now to the north central travel point in the Shifting Sands. I left two until now because the FL1-R with any core is really powerful, and these can be hard battles. Head east to fight a prismatic enemy (64) and then hug the rocks as you go to avoid unneeded fights and get to a battle orb (65). Go now to the Coliseum where you get three cores for getting the goals, not counting time, completed (68). Now head to the Armory Flux dungeon and you will get two cores if you get the key and make it to the end (70). The Pit of Oblivion has two cores as you go and two for getting the key and just getting to the end (74). Head back to the House of Steel now that you should be closer to the recommended level. There is one core in the dungeon progression and two at the end (77).
Tyrant's Forge has the last two, one for the key and one for reaching the end (79). I know that there are 80 to get, but I cannot beat the time on Repository Blitz.

I haven't voted either way on your guide, and do appreciate text guides as compliment to video. I think where you're receiving down votes is your formatting. They're really long paragraphs that look like walls of text, making it difficult to read.
I'd break it out, create smaller paragraphs and bullet lists. IMO

I separated it more by area. That should make it easier to read. I don't want to put each core in a separate paragraph like I did with the Health Booster guide.

** CONFIRMED FOR WINDOWS 10.... not sure about Xbox One **
Helpful tip when tracking these down: I discovered that when you look at the map and hover your cursor over areas where Cores are hidden, if you've discovered and collected the core, there won't be an icon on the screen, but the words "Prismatic Core" will still appear.
So, if you're like me and trying to track down the last few (mainly dig sites), I used the maps above, hovered over each of the locations. If no text appeared next to my cursor, I would head to that area and find the missing core.
Hope that makes sense.

It also works for the Xbox 1 version! Many thanks for that finding!

There is a way around finding all of the spheres items in the game. For some reason, the game seems to count the amount of Spheres you've collected. It DOESNT seem to care about which game file you're on.
In other words. Get at least 50% of the spheres in your play through. Then start another file on the same profile and start collecting them again. (So far I've noticed this works for health pickups too. Haven't tried the blueprints achievement.)
This has to be an oversight on the developers so I'd get it now when you can.

You need 80 to get the achievement. There are at least 82 available.

There are 82 in total (including 2 cores from the secret dungeon for the core tank), but the achievement is worth 80.
Some of the cores are obtained according to the plot, some of them are scattered throughout the world. I won’t describe the dungeons, since everything is displayed there in the game itself. By map:
Yellow circles - balls are buried. White circles - scattered around the world.
Starting location
lonely lowland
Cradle
Quicksand

They also dig out of the sand with the help of a dog.

With the update, the game has approximately 120 cores, so for achievements you don’t need to look for all the cores, pick them up in dungeons, and dig them up with the help of a dog
