How to unlock the Self Sufficient achievement in Red Dead Redemption 2 - Definitive Guide

This achievement requires you to craft 30 unique items. Duplicates obviously do not count. Bellow I have taken the liberty to list every craftable item in the game as per listed by the guide, as well as their ingredients:

For some items you must purchase the recipe and for some others you must find in specific places on the map.

I found that it was easiest to just buy all the recipes from the fence whenever and then just hunt a few different animals, pick up plants, etc. You get a random array of stuff, and then just craft away, one by one.

Anything Pearson at the camp can craft seems to count too, not just pouches but lodging too.
My achievement unlocked crafting a cow hide ground cover.

The flavored meat options (oregano, thyme, mint) all count individually. Those can be found by selecting the meat to cook and pushing left and right on the D-pad.
The seasoning provides extra benefits to a single gauge (health, stamina, or Dead-eye).

Can confirm that Pearson's crafting counts too. Achievement popped after getting a camp lodging upgrade from him.

What you need to do is craft either at a campsite or at the base camp 30 unique items, items include cooking food, making ammunition, crafting horse materials and making new weapons, making coffee, crafting medicine etc. keep track of the items you already crafted towards this and you can unlock this early on. also I read that people have been progressing this achievement by going to the trapper and crafting legendary clothing.

Buying the satchel upgrades from a fence counts toward this...also so do the trinkets and tailsmen’s

To unlock the Self Sufficient trophy in Red Dead Redemption 2 you need to craft thirty unique items. You can craft most items at your campsite, which you can set up out in the wild at any time by selecting the camp from the bottom of your Items wheel.

Variations on items count as unique, so you can make up numbers by crafting different variants of bullets, cook meats with different seasonings etc. Horse and human tonics count as well.

It also appears that crafting legendary trinkets at the Trapper and crafting pouch upgrades with Pearson count towards your 30.

This may come naturally while playing, as many of the challenges required for Best in the West involve a lot of unique crafting. Crafting trinkets/talismans from Legendary Animal parts (via Fences) counts towards this trophy, as well as any clothing crafting you have the Trapper do. I also highly recommend going for the Legend of the East Satchel, as not only is it an excellent item to have to help out with challenges and post-game stuff but it will also add another seven unique crafted items towards this trophy.

To craft satchels and camp decorations (via Pearson), you must first buy the leather tools from the camp ledger for $275.

Here you need to create 30 different items (food, ammunition, tonics, etc.) spamming one thing 30 times will not work
