How to unlock the Breakout achievement in Red Dead Redemption 2 - Definitive Guide

When you start Online you'll have to go through the motions. Just keep following the instructions and go on the mission to steal a horse. After you delivered the horse you are prompted to go meet your guy at your new camp. When you arrive at your camp and have the conversation, the intro is done and the achievement will pop.

It took a good five minutes after completing this for the achievement to unlock for me, so be patient.

Presumably missable if you skip the intro. Mine hasn't unlocked yet and I'm only doing it as I need 5G for 255555G lol. I'll try again later

To unlock the Breakout trophy in Red Dead Redemption 2, you must complete the early introductory missions of Red Dead Online.

The missions are pretty straight forward, so just follow the instructions on the screen and learn about life in Red Dead Online. Eventually, you will be asked to steal a horse. After delivering the horse to Clay Davies and receiving your reward, return to your camp and talk with Cripps to end the mission.

At that point, you'll have completed the intro of Red Dead Online and the trophy will unlock.

The online portion of the game begins with you needing to create your online avatar. Upon doing so, you’ll have to go through some story/tutorial segments. You will earn this trophy as soon as you establish your first camp and you're let loose on the open world.
