How to unlock the Cheater! achievement in Red Faction: Armageddon - Definitive Guide

Once you have completed the game on any difficulty, the "CHEATS" section will be added to the pause and main menus. From there, you can purchase a number of different cheats. If simply want the achievement, the cheapest cheats to buy are any of the unlimited ammo ones, as they cost 5,000 salvage.

Buying or enabling cheats does NOT prevent you from unlocking any achievements. Using cheats is actually a good way to beat the game on the hardest difficulty if you are having problems.

No it does not. I'll change the solution, but you CAN buy cheats and still get achievements for beating it on the hardest difficulty and such.

If you want to save some of the salvage towards getting all the upgrades you can quit to dashboard after you buy one of the cheats.

I recommend the LEO Machine gun unlock cheat, and nano-rifle's unlimited ammo. Perhaps rocket launcher unlimited ammo might suit you.

It's actually the pause menu and the upgrade menu (press Y). Yeah not on the main menu.

After beating the campaign on any difficulty, the Cheats menu is not added to the Main Menu. You must either select New Game or Load Game. You can then access the Cheats Menu. Any salvage spent or cheats purchased will not be saved until you reach a checkpoint.

Unlimited Ammo:
Each weapon = 5,000 salvage

Weapon Unlocks:
Napalm Laser = 10,000 salvage
Convergence Laser = 8,000 salvage
L.E.O. Rocket Launcher = 8,000 salvage
L.E.O. Machine Gun = 8,000 salvage
Lava Barge Turret = 6,000 salvage

Visual Modes:
Sketch Mode = 10,000 salvage
Night Vision Mode = 8,000 salvage

Other:
Instant Nano Forge Cooldown = 10,000 salvage
Super Melee = 8,000 salvage

Beat the campaign and go to the new option: New Game Plus, from the main menu. Next, while playing just press start and look for the cheats button. The price ranges from 5,000-10,000 scrap per cheat. Just buy any one of them and that's all!

Once you finish the game, you can buy cheats. Cheats do not disable trophies. There are many cheats, ranging from unlimited ammo for specific weapons, to new weapons, to stronger melee attacks. All cheats range from 5,000 to 10,000 salvage. The cheats are as follows:

Unlimited Ammo – Price: 5,000 salvage per Cheat

  • Singularity Cannon
  • Pulse Grenade
  • XNG-5000 (Recon Pack DLC)
  • Nano Rifle
  • Banshees
  • Arc Welder (Recon Pack DLC)
  • Charge Launcher
  • Plasma Beam/Mr. Toots
  • Plasma Cannon
  • Assault Rifle
  • Plasma Thrower (Commando Pack DLC)
  • Rail Driver
  • Rocket Launcher
  • Shotgun
  • Pistols
  • Laser Pistol (Commando Pack DLC)

Weapon Unlocks:

  • Napalm Laser: 10,000 salvage
  • Convergence Laser: 8,000 salvage
  • L.E.O. Rocket Launcher: 8,000 salvage
  • L.E.O. Machine Gun: 6,000 salvage
  • Lava Barge Turret: 6,000 salvage

Cheats become available after you have finished the game on any difficulty. They are located on the pause menu when you start a new game +. Cheats don't disable achievements and help immensely on insane difficulty. The cheapest cheats to buy are the infinity gun bullet cheats which all cost 5,000 salvage, but I recommend you buy the Napalm Laser for your insanity run. To get more salvage simply play Infestation Mode on the higher waves.

When you beat the game, a number of cheat codes will open, you can buy them either in the upgrade machine or during the game when you press in the Cheat code section, the cheapest is 5000 local currency, buy one and the achievement opens, they also DO NOT disable achievements, you can at least buy them all
