How to unlock the Working the Land achievement in Red Faction: Guerrilla - Definitive Guide

Found a great site that helped me to get this.
There are a total of 303 ore locations in the game I saved the maps and then put them in Microsoft paint and just went to town.

I can confirm what Warku1t said. If you are missing one ore, (299 of 300) check the very bottom of Dust where the map is at the bottom left.

I will also confirm. 299 points on map. Dust bottom left missing the 6th. I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT THERE ARE ONLY 300 - NOT 303. There is no room for error on this. Collect them all!

Got this achievement uber easy from this guide, thanks! The nano rifle is one shot per ore too btw(if shot in the middle).., just find a high spot where you can see most or all of the ore n start shootin.

There is also one not on the map due east of the EDF Artillery Base in Parker (Free Fire Zone). On the map two are marked. There are actually three.

Good guide. The maps are easy to checkoff in a pic editor, or print 'em out.
TIP: Make sure it is completely destroyed and you get the "x of 300 ore" notification. At 299/300, I had the fun task of searching for 1 partially, but not completely, destroyed ore. facepalm

Just a question, there is some ore in the irradiated zone, can you at some point get an irradiation upgrade to get the ones there?

Yes. As you progress through the campaign, you will eventually be able to get to that area.

Anyone else notice 13 marked on the map on the far east of parker, yet there's only 12 there?
Cause yeh that was my last 13 to get.
Terrible map

There's several in the northern part of Parker near the EDF Artillery Base I can't seem to reach. I just get shot at and end up dying. How do I get to these?

I’m not sure exactly which ones you’re referring to, but I believe some in the game may require the upgraded jetpack to reach. If you can see the ore, try shooting it with rockets or nano rifle until the notification appears. If you partially destroy it then die, you should be able to return and just get the rest of it.

How i approached this problem was do every sector 1 by 1 and just add up the total and if it matches after you completed a sector move to the next

This guide worked for me, I used a different from another solution and it left me at 299/300, after another run I still did not find it. Used the guide here and I found one in Parker that had not been listed before. Boom, achievement unlocked

This guide has some great descriptions of where to go for ores: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/file/944786/56855

I didn't find out about this until I already had the achievement, which would have saved a lot of time.
It is very accurate and I even made a new playthrough just to test it out for you guys :)
So I recommend printing off the ore location section and crossing out the group of ore once you've got each one. From Parker to Free Fire Zone for all 300 ores surprisingly does not take that long. It only took me 3 hours to go over all the spots for ores. I know it would have saved me loads of time and I find it more effective than the map.

Still takes 3 hours following a guide!!! One of the most stupid collectible achievements ever. Thanks for the solution anyway. +1

GLITCHED

Even with the latest patch installed, it's still possible for this trophy to glitch if you don't fully destroy each ore deposit when you first encounter them. This is because the stat tracking can break and not register them as destroyed.

This is an ore location:

This is an ore crystal:

There are 300 ore locations spread over the Parker, the Dust, Badlands and Oasis Sectors but there are none in either Eos or Mount Vogel. The ore locations appear as purple blinking dots on the Minimap. For an ore location to be considered "mined" you have to damage it enough so some little red crystal(s) come out and the words "Mined X of 300 ore deposits" (where X is your progress) appear. You do not have to collect the crystals that come from an ore location for that location to count towards the trophy. Don't waste ammo on destroying these, just use the Sledgehammer. To avoid confusion when looking for locations you may have missed, completely flatten them once discovered. They should look like this afterwards:

Some of the ore locations are in places which are impossible to reach without a fully upgraded Jetpack.

See here for their locations (credit to DaFaztFingaz for this): LINK and Broken Supply Line for a video playlist.
