There are two upgrades you'll want to secure before you can unlock this.


First, you'll need to buy the upgrade that gives you access to higher tiers of loot rarity. The first purchase will unlock Heroic tier loot, then the second upgrade for this will unlock Legendary loot. This is 100% necessary to get this achievement. Legendaries do not spawn without it.

Here are the loot tiers:

• Common
• Rare
• Epic
• Heroic
• Legendary

Secondly, there is an upgrade that makes legendary experiments more likely to appear.

You can get a legendary experiment without the final upgrade, but doubling your chances doesn't hurt. Don't be like me and completely miss the higher rarity upgrade and only buy the increased likelihood of legendary spawns.

After the upgrades are purchased, it is only a matter of time before you get a legendary. To unlock the achievement, you have to select the legendary experiment. It should pop immediately after that.
