Possible in the second half of the game once you reach the Burial Point.
As you complete main missions, you will return to the hub known as the Maritime Centre. During your visits, keep an eye out for an ! symbol denoting a side mission with Lawrence Tran; the nurse. Talk to him whenever possible, and he'll offer you a side mission to retrieve a book from a mini book house.
Complete this side mission by visiting the book house. The book is not there, but you'll find the list in the house upstairs, and the book underneath the nearby bridge. Just follow mission marker to complete it.
Bring the book back to the maritime center, and place it near Tran to complete the side mission. Read the book after this to unlock the achievement.

You need to complete two side missions (Ward Family History and Dr. Young's Project) first. An “!” icon appears above Tran before this, but the dialog is odd and it doesn't trigger the needed mission.

Seems to be only available to first person who reads book if playing in coop - but looks as if you can reload save - which may help with other achievements similar to this.

**MISSABLE**
In order to get this achievement you need to do a few things first.
Firstly, you'll need to complete two of the Maritime Center missions that trigger the side mission that this achievement is related to. Those 2 missions are "Ward Family Tree" and "Dr. Young's Project." See Good Samaritan (35G) for more information on how to initiate those missions.
The third of the Maritime Center missions is "Birdwatching," which you get to speaking to Nurse Tran after the previous two main quests (you might need to do a main quest to push it along). Once you've done the quest and have replaced the book the quest will end. To get the achievement, simply just read the book after you've completed the mission. Do that and the achievement is yours.
