How to unlock the Empty Nest Syndrome achievement in Redfall - Definitive Guide

Missable if you clear all nests loud and kill the Vampires.
Vampire Nests will appear on the overworld map after you've completed 4 story missions. Head over to the nest, find the door and hold
to enter the Vampire Nest.
You now need to reach the Heart at the very end of the nest without waking/killing any Vampires. In the early nests you'll generally only find 3-4 Vampires that are sleeping. Ensure you're crouched, giving them a wide birth as you pass them - getting too close will wake them. The Vampires are also tethered to the ground by what look like electrical beams, if you touch/break these beams the vampires will also wake.
So crouch, keep your distance and avoid the beams to safely pass them! Once you reach the heart at the very end break all of the connections by holding on the bodies. This will make the heart vulnerable, allowing you to shoot and destroy it. Once destroyed you should get the Empty Nest Syndrome achievement.

My first nest was different than urs, wen I got to the theater at the end, there were vampires blocking the doorway……luckily I found a path to the right side of the theater to get ontop of the marque and climbed in thru a second story window and made my way to the heart and beat the nest and unlocked all 3 achievements

The nest location, contents, and difficulty are random. Also, the AI is garbage and unpredictable. Sometimes they'll attack immediately, sometimes they'll not move/die at all. If the heart is high up (too high to melee, find a safe spot away from enemies to snipe it).

Make sure to try and get this early in the game as the Vampire nests get much harder as the game progresses. The first couple only had 5-6 enemies.
Vampire nests start appearing on the map pretty early in the game. Go to one on the map and enter the door to get in the vampire nest. You need to work your way to the bottom of the nest and untether 3 victims and then shoot the heart to destroy it.
If you are using the character "Jacob" this is really easy just use the invisible ability everytime you go past one of the sleeping vampires. If not just make sure to keep your distance if you can. The first several nests I did all the vampires were sleeping and easy to sneak past.

I was able to earn the achievement even with a Vampire I snuck past having the yellow question marks above their head, so it seems like as long as you go undetected (in terms of not making the Vamps hostile) and killing no one you'll get the achievement.

Absurdly easy, even on Midnight difficulty.
Nests become available a few main missions into the Redfall Commons area, I got one to appear when I started the quest “Fall Like Lightning”.
On your map, a blue ring with a gate symbol inside it will appear on the map. For me it was at the Golden View Mobile Community area of the Basswood neighbourhood.
Once you get in the vicinity, search for a blue glowing door. It’ll teleport you to the nest.
There seems to be very few enemies inside if you just stay quiet. You want to stealth your way through by crouch walking all the way, in case there’s a vampire out of view that’ll hear you. I believe they cannot even be suspicious (yellow ??? Marks above head) as that would mean they’ve been woken up. Don’t bother killing then either, this has to be a stealth pacifist clear!
In my iteration, I had 300m of stealth crouch walking to a theatre, I turned off the projector inside which spawned a new passage in the screen, and then I crouched another 100m inside to destroy the heart.
Avoid using guns. You will need ti disconnect the tethered “Nest Victims” from the heart before you can destroy it. Do that, and then melee the heart. Soon as you’ve done that, you’ll have your achievement for your first Nest clear, and another for clearing it without alerting or killing vampires
Loot the area through the red amber on the walls by melee’ing it, and get out before the timer ends.

Perhaps the best way to get this achievement is with Jacob. Mainly because of his cloak. But the crux of this achievement is that you sneak into the vampire nest, sneak past all the vampires (without waking or killing them) and then destroy the heart. Vampires will be asleep in each nest, and are only woken if you break the electric-like lines that come from them. Take your time and only move when it's safe to do so - the lines have a break every 10-seconds or so, leaving a path to sneak through.
How easy is it will depend on the random traits that are applied too, so it's best to try and get this one early, because as you progress, so do the vampire nest traits. You preferably want to do this on a nest with blood mist and no guardian, in truth, with no watchers. However, we did it on a nest with both a guardian and watchers, we just snuck past them all. And careful not to wake vampires destroying the heart - one shot with a sniper rifle should kill the heart and do so before the vampires wake up.
Luckily vampire nests keep spawning, so you won't miss this.
