How to unlock the Grounded achievement in Redfall - Definitive Guide

In this guide we will show you how to eliminate a Rook in Redfall to earn the "Grounded" Achievement.
In Redfall, in addition to the typical vampires, you face several elite classes of vampires, including the Rook.
These vampires are godlike, extremely muscular, and shoot red lightning bolts that deal a lot of damage to you. In fact, after you kill the first Rook you unlock a new mechanic in the game called "Rook Storms". These events take place when you have eliminated a large number of vampires and are intended to increase the difficulty of Redfall.
However, you can still find and kill a Rook very easily in the latter stages of the "Fall Like Lighting" mission. After you connect the antenna and spectrum analyzer to the "Harbor Master" office in Redfall's "Lighthouse", then the first Rook will appear. First stay inside the building to avoid the lightning bolts, then attack with everything you have to kill the vampire. Devinder's Ulti is extremely useful against elite vampires like Rook, so be sure to use it.
Once you kill the vampire you will earn the "Grounded" Achievement and along the way you can collect the "Spectrum Analyzer Data" to complete the main mission "Fall Like Lighting".

The first Rook is on the first map, Redfall Commons, at the end of the mission "FALL LIKE LIGHTNING".
This mission requires you to:
FIRST
- (Secret Achievement) go to the Harbor Master's office (building attached to the lighthouse) and switch off the fog horns for the "Ask Not For Whom The Horns Blow" achievement. The 2 red switches are across from the desk on what looks like generators.
THEN
- search a large ship called the Tempestas, East of the lighthouse, for an antenna,
- return to the Harbor Master's Office and collect a spectrum analyzer.
- connect the antenna and spectrum analyzer
- DEFEAT THE ROOK !
- collect the spectrum analyzer data
MAIN MISSION COMPLETE.
Rooks look like body building wrestlers, and drop red lightning everywhere. Find shelter to take cover. Then unload on the Rook when it attacks directly.
After defeating this first Rook, Rook Storms are introduced.
No need to kill a certain number of enemies, or anything complicated, to spawn a Rook to unlock this for the first time, unless you're playing in another person's campaign map.

From what I've read, Rooks are summoned after killing a certain number of Vampires, lightning should appear just before arrival. Simply kill it - it is strong but killable, but on another persons fresh start it would be easier.
My first Rook appeared around the lighthouse.

My first Rook appeared also around the lighthouse, during Fall Like Lightning main quest. Like most combat in the game, this is very easy at least on normal (Dusk) difficulty. Stay indoors and wait for him to come to you, so you don't get hit by lightning. I fired a couple of shots from a Stake Launcher and that was it.

"Rooks" in Redfall are powerful and fast melee focused brute vampires that spawn in and around Rook Storms - which are red electricity storms that are summoned by the vampire gods.
At the end of the “Fall Like Lightning” main mission, once you’ve connected the antenna to the spectrum analyser, a Rook and a Rook Storm will spawn. Defeat the Rook and this achievement is all yours. If you're struggling with Rooks, just remember they can't climb and are pretty dumb, so standing on one side of a fence and constantly shooting and jumping over it while he runs around it actually works a treat.
At the end of the “Fall Like Lightning” main mission, once you’ve connected the antenna to the spectrum analyser, a Rook and a Rook Storm will spawn. Defeat the Rook and this achievement is all yours.
