You'll come across one in the first side mission, Carpe Noctem. It's the statue-like object in the middle of the red mist located in the front courtyard of the Shadetree Heights Supper Club. Circle around it - don't come into contact with the red mist because it deals significant damage - until you see a dead soldier lying next to a UV lamp. Turn on the UV lamp and the light turns the bloodbag/Death Mist Spewer into stone. After the red mist dissipates, melee the petrified blood bag to destroy it.

In this guide we will show how to eliminate a Death Mist Spewer in Redfall to earn the "Spit Take" Achievement.

Death Mist Spewers are one of the most annoying enemies in Redfall, as they "spit" a red mist that blocks your path, causing you a lot of damage every time you try to pass through it.

There are two ways to eliminate a Death Mist Spewer, the first is to turn on a UV light (usually found next to electrical generators) and the second and most advisable is to use a UV weapon. The reason we prefer the second method is because there are not always UV light bulbs next to a Death Mist Spewer.

So what you have to do is use a weapon that shoots UV light to petrify a Death Mist Spewer from long range (aim with the LT and shoot with the RT). Once the creature is petrified, the red mist will disappear, allowing you to get close to it and finish it off with a melee attack.

During the second main mission on your way to the uppermost chopper location you should come across a landmark called “Shadetree Heights supper club” locate the red fog and proceed behind it. Turn off the UV light and melee the frozen creature that was in the mist.

Destroying a Death Mist Spewer can be done in two ways, one is to find a UV light generator that can petrify them to stone and you can destroy afterwards with a normal weapon (ideally a shotgun). The other is using a UV beam weapon you have equipped where you can direct a beam by holding down as you aim at the statue figure and then holding down until the mist dissipates, you'll have several seconds to destroy it with your other normal weapon before the mist reappears. There will come several situations where the latter method is more viable, one example being the area around the Heritage Rock safehouse, where both the entryway as well as the power generator that allows for the safehouse to be unlocked is surrounded by the mist.
