How to unlock the Dominator achievement in Remnant: From the Ashes - Definitive Guide
This is just building upon my previous guide for the 5 bosses which gives a basic summary and small tutorial of Survival. I actually had this typed out before but when I submitted it, I got an error and it somehow got deleted so here's round two.
I highly recommend solo. Why?
-Enemies and bosses have less health and damage.
-Don't have to waste time deciding who gets what loot.
-No lag/delay. When you pick up an item, it takes up to 10-30 seconds for it to appear in your inventory. In solo, you get it immediately.
-Not sharing loot in Labyrinth vendors.
-Increasing consumables cost. If a co-op partner buys Golden Plum for 2,500, then the next person has to buy it for 3,000. This applies to all consumables. **Stealth patch appears to have changed this so everyone's cost is individual now.**
-No wasting time zoning between different areas.
-Aggro is always on you so you know every enemy is aiming for you which also increases your awareness.
-Friendly fire is activated. Accidental or not, it sucks to lose health especially during a boss fight that can be avoided by playing solo.
-Not sure if people have run into this problem but Dream Eater on co-op tends to crash the game resulting in an immediate fail for everyone.
TIPS:
-Dodging is essential to success. Even the most intimidating bosses such as Onslaught, Dream Eater, The Unclean One, and practically all melee bosses can be dodged easily by rolling forward/into them. For the first two listed, throw in at least two extra dodges to be safe because, after their initial lunge, they usually follow up with combos.
-Your level (blue bar) vs enemy level (red bar). A good rate of progress is 2-3 levels higher than the enemy level. By around boss 8, it became even for me at 18 and 18. At this point, don't stress. On my run when I beat 12 bosses, I noticed they didn't become extremely difficult until it was 20 and 24. Four level difference and even the regular enemies were almost one-shotting me.
-When given the chance, try to buy at least 3 consumables of Greenleaf, Oilskin Tonic, Heavy Water, Bandages. These particular status effects inflicted on you during the middle of a boss fight can mean the difference between success and failure. Equip these to your hotbar when you enter the area before the boss fight so you don't go digging around your inventory during the fight.
-I always bought (2) Golden Plums and (2) Mudtooth's Elixir. First Golden Plum was bought at round 3, first Mudtooth Elixir bought at round 4. Then the final two were bought when I had the money. If I didn't have money for these potions, then I would buy a Dragon Heart but prioritize these potions always. These buffs last an hour.
-With the buff that melee damage received this patch, don't be afraid to use it to save ammo or if you're in a tight spot with no ammo reloaded in both weapons. Every melee weapon can practically one-shot basic enemies.
-Kill EVERY enemy you see especially the Elite ones. The amount of experience points they give is nothing to scoff at.
-UPDATE: Kongo Dragon stated that he and his partner would restart Survival if Chicago Typewriter and Assault Rifle wasn't available from the start.
BOSSES:
*I will list the order of the bosses' difficulty from easiest to hardest, from top to bottom. UPDATE: Reordering boss list based by world for easier viewing.
I will also list what areas these bosses are in so when you reach the first area, you know what consumables to hotbar and what mods to change around to better prepare for the boss fight. If you've come across a boss not listed here, please let me know so I can update it.*
UPDATE: SSSteinMan has notified me that for every 3rd boss in survival, you will get a World Boss (denoted by WB) so on waves 3, 6, and 9, you'll get a World Boss.

MODS: (In no particular order as these are all very good mods)
Beckon - (Reward for killing Raze - very long duration, almost never dies and you can practically cast these infinitely with how fast you'll build mod power).
Explosive Shot - (Vendor - very powerful against bosses with adds that like to swarm you and against Splitter/Riphide as well)
Hunter's Mark - (Vendor - Helps in open and indoor dungeons especially with enemies that like to hide around corners).
Iron Sentinels - (Vendor - decent damage against adds but really shines as roadblocks. For example, if placed right on some bosses like Gorefist, you can keep him trapped and unable to move for a long time resulting in free damage).
Rattle Weed - (Reward for killing Shroud - very useful for early waves. Can hold aggro of all enemies including bosses for a time resulting in free uninterrupted healing or damage but loses efficiency as waves progress due to enemies hitting harder. Be sure to aim it correctly. The aggro capability has a limited range).
Rift Walker - (Reward for killing Dream Eater - useful to get a free heal in or to reposition yourself in a fight).
Swarm - (Reward for killing The Thrall - best overall damage mod in my opinion. It homes in on enemies, does very good damage and it's fire and forget. Only downside is you can't charge it while it's in use).
Veil of the Black Tear - (Reward for killing Shade and Shatter - extremely OP mod. If you can get this early, you can highly increase your success on almost every ranged boss in this DLC. It completely negates all ranged attacks except attacks such as Ixilis' hyper beam or Shroud's artillery attacks. Hope RNG is with you and you're able to get this early).
Wildfire Shot - (Reward for killing Scald and Sear - similar to Explosive Shot except it doesn't deal instant damage. It deals fire damage over time and immediately 3 stacks on the enemy. Good for when you don't have Explosive Shot).
HAND GUNS: (In order of preference from top to bottom)
SMG (vendor/drop)
Spitfire (Reward for killing Singe)
Magnum Revolver (vendor/drop)
Repeating Pistol (starting pistol)
LONG GUNS: (In order of preference from top to bottom)
Beam Rifle (vendor/drop)
Chicago Typewriter (vendor/drop)
Assault Gun (vendor/drop)
Coach Gun (vendor/drop)
*Particle Accelerator (Reward for killing Claviger - the mod on this weapon may be good for Splitter/Riphide but that's about it. I never really liked the primary fire on this gun).
ARMOR:
Radiant (Very good but also extremely reliant on Leto's Amulet to make it work well)
Cultist
Twisted
Osseus
Hunter
**My recommendation is one-piece each from Cultist, Twisted, and Osseus. You get health regen, increased mod power generation, and more damage. However, if you feel you're lacking damage, go full set Osseus if you want.**
RINGS/AMULETS:
Honestly, there's not much to say here except all the rings and amulets are good except for any rings that deal with melee. With the gear listed above, you can go summoner heavy, go defense with health regeneration or damage reduction, and/or go offense with increased ranged damage in terms of what rings and amulets to equip.

As first I was a little confused by what you meant but I understand now. I didn't notice the pattern before. Thank you for pointing that out SSSteinMan. I'll add it to the guide.

There are already really good guides, so I will just add my experience with the survival mode and a build that will make you unkillable once you get going.
I tried to complete this achievement on PS4 for quite a while and got kinda frustrated, but as it turns out, a proper build can make all the difference in the world.
First of all: Group size. I have seen a lot of people saying it's the easiest to beat it alone, but I have to disagree there. If you have a good teammate, it's the easiest to do it as a group of 2, I would personally not recommend doing it as a group of 3 due to the scaling.
When you start your run, you should get one of these weapons: assault rifle, chicago typewriter, beam rifle or the ricochet. If you don't get either of these, don't bother and reload the mode. These are by far the best weapons to use for this achievement.
There are 2 ways to play this mode: Explore and loot everything or "rush" through it. I recommend playing more of a rush style and only breaking crates/picking up items you see on your way, to keep 3-4 levels ahead of the difficulty curve. Every 3rd boss will be a world-boss. You will definitely want to approach the 9th boss before the enemy levels hit 15 (nightmare difficulty), in my case the 9th boss was Ixillis both times and it can end your run faster than you think.
The final build you want to aim for is:
- Primary Weapon: Ricochet
- Secondary Weapon: Any you personally like, I would recommend the submachine gun or the repeater pistol
- Amulet: Galenic charm (+30% weapon mod damage)
- Ring 1: Soul Link (Summons steal 5% of the damage dealt and return it to the wearer as health)
- Ring 2: Soul Anchor (Increase duration of the summons)
- Weapon mod 1: Seed caller (Summon a root hollow, maximum of 2)
- Weapon mod 2: Iron sentinel (Summon a full automatic turret, maximum of 2)
Other viable mods are: Swarm, Hunter's mark, Blink token (for riphide), Beckon and Seeker is good for the beginning.
For the armor you should look for a regrowth piece early on, to save up your hearts for the bosses. Towards the end, you should aim for a mix of the "power surge" pieces (increase weapon mod damage), the "cultist" pieces (generate more mod power) and the "leto" pieces (high armor).
After the 3rd boss I would recommend buying either a golden plum (bonus health regen for the next 60 minutes) or a mudtooth's tonic (increases your maximum health for 60 minutes), depending on how you do of course. These items along with the divine nectar and the houndmaster's jerky are essential for your success in this mode.
Once you get this build (or something similiar) going, you will be unkillable:
- Seed caller will keep the enemy aggro off you
- All 4 summons will simultaneously heal you
- Ricochet will automatically kill the minions while you shoot the boss
- You will charge up mod power so fast, you can always keep up all 4 summons
I cannot stress enough how underrated the ricochet is in survival, however, you will definitely want to keep an assault rifle, a chicago typewriter or a beam rifle ready, along with the rattleseed mod, in case you run into Ixillis. Don't attempt to kill Ixillis with the ricochet.
This will make the survival run quite easy, I had massive problems in my previous runs, but we didn't get knocked out a single time with this build during the entire run. (Well I died once because I jumped off a literally 3 metres high ledge, seriously what is that physic...)
Some general tips:
- If you have a "cultist" armor piece, you can wait at the base for your mods to charge up, before you enter a world
- If you run into ravager do the bell puzzle (I think the correct order was 5-1-5-1-2-3-4-1 or something like that) and shoot at it from a distance, it should be stuck in the floor
- Positioning and movement is the key to some bosses, if you are unfamiliar with a fight, look up the boss fight on apocalypse difficulty on youtube
- If you run into Barbed Terror you can stay right where you enter the room and most of the time, Barbed Terror will not shoot his spikes
- When you take a hit during a boss fight and there is room for it, heal up immediately, even if you are only missing 30% or 40% of your health. Bosses can dish out unexpectedly high damage during the later parts of your survival run. This is also why mudtooth's tonic is so important
- If you die completely and your teammate kills the boss, it will still count as a kill for you and I think you will also get the experience
- Don't underestimate how much money you can get from destroying crates
Edit as of October 2021: As it was mentioned in the comments, you should uninstall the "subject 2923" dlc, as this makes the achievement much harder.
I took inspiration from this console run on youtube, check it out:
Good luck and keep grinding, practice is key.

Best guide by far.
Key takeaways from our successful run utilising it:
- Have someone running the Richochet/Summon build. Re-roll so this person starts with at least the gun (if not additional pieces).
-Do it with one other person, but not two. Better for loot, traits, and scaling.
-You need luck with bosses (Barbed Terror wiped us every time), but persistence is everything.
-Uninstall Subject 2xxx DLC so as to avoid needlessly hard bosses and overly large overworlds and dungeons.

I would like to add a couple of overall tips to enhance the guide from SyncTheTempest.
I got my 10 bosses done with a full party of 3 players, there are many advantages to this:
1. The comradery: playing alone feels lonely, playing with 2 other dudes cracking jokes, preparing strats, celebrating the death of a particular f-ing difficult boss and the excitement of "just one more boss!" is great.
2. Role assignment: having a party of 3 can reduce the amount of time you spend in the dungeons, 1 player can be assigned into scrap collection, and 1 or 2 can be assigned to add rush, splitting up can lead into better dungeon clearing, my party for example was always 3 levels above the enemy and we were banking at least 4-5k per dungeon in scrap, after the 5th boss we had full armor builds so we just rush the adds for xp then the boss, cutting the time bar significantly, at one point we were a full 5 levels above.
3. Having someone to get you up: sometimes you will take a hit and you think you can tank it but no, you´ll drop like a sack of potatoes. Well that's were your buddy can get you up, though with this game being like it is your ressing up is not always guaranteed.
4. Risky but effective charm: The Daredevil´s Charm is seriously OP, having a 90% DMG bonus to your weapons is incredible, obviously you will be naked, but when you can out-damage any ads using the revolver or the typewriter you wont need the armor, having 1 teammate with the charm with either a Leto's piece or scrapper piece will bring your overall DPS to great amount, just make sure you give him/her the shadow ring for a 40% less enemy awareness or someone equip the aggressor band for the aggro.
5. Good builds to make: Daredevil´s charm high risk high reward DPS, full Leto's with hero ring will ensure fast revivals, full Twisted set with blood ring for regen and mender's aura, full voids or full osseous with assault rifle with hotshot or swarm for DPS, 2 piece labyrinth 1 piece cultist with sentry turrets or beckon with soul charm will add aggro taking summons that deal decent damage and increase yours and 3 piece elders for extra DMG whilst using a Dragon Heart.
6. On the consumables shop once you have the extras scrap buy the 1 hour consumables like the nectar, these will increase the stats (extra 50 hp, 50 stamina, hp regen, extra armor, ect.) on your character and will be invaluable for later encounters.
And finally, hope for early swamp bosses, the Barbed Death is easier on the first 2 boss counts, the time we fought him he did not summoned the quills even though he made his hand gestures, but the nightmare boss was still a pain, but can be downed if he spawn in the early 2 bosses with relative ease.

Here is my video guide:
This strategy is meant for co-op and ideally meant for 3 players but works fine with 2.
NOTES
You're main focus is getting Beam Rifle, Iron Sentinel and level 20 invoker for all players. With that, your team should be fine with keeping a distance from any boss and allowing the sentinels to do the heavy lifting. Usually, only 1 player will be targeted by a boss so the other 1-2 players can focus fire. Be sure to always clear out other enemies so the turrets stay focused on the boss. If you have equipment that boosts experience, use it!
Also be to keep at least 1 consumable to cures or boosts resistance to status ailments as you never know which boss you'll get next.
The best stages to gain scrap are those on Corsus. Destroy all barrels, boxes and enemies and you should get at between 6,000-9,000 scrap. This is extremely helpful for buying traits and consumables.
For The Ravager boss - I stumbled across that glitch by accident. To my knowledge, it's not common knowledge. But every time I shot him from that position with hunting pistol, he is glitched into the ground.

For those who will go through the survival mode in which you need to kill 10 bosses without dying alone or with friends.
I don’t recommend playing 3, the bosses and mobs will be too tough, it’s best to play solo or with two people.
Weapons must be an Automatic or Ricochet Crossbow, the crossbow has a special feature, it kills trash very well with its ricochet arrows, but an assault rifle has better firepower on one target, put Fire Bullets on the modules for the main weapon, it is advisable to find an SMG and a module with turrets in the second slot , or summoning goblins or skulls.
From armor, use armor to increase damage to vulnerable spots and heal abilities.
It is advisable to use rings if you come across them to increase experience and damage to vulnerable spots or increase crit. From amulets to increase experience, rate of fire or armor. Be sure to buy tonics for 2500 after 4.5 Boss to increase life, crit, regen, and armor. It is advisable to have 6-7 hearts.
Of the locations in the swamp, I recommend exploring everything, especially in the caves, there are a lot of chests and elite enemies, you can level up well and find a lot of money. The most important thing is not to get caught by the Bosses, two butterflies, they appeared twice on me, 9 in a row, it’s very difficult to kill them alone, and the Queen from the add-on, it’s almost impossible to kill her without a stone.
In general, I won’t say that the mode is very difficult; randomness plays a very important role here. It took me about 15 hours to complete this mode, after trying 15 I was probably able to complete it, perhaps with the latest addition I can make this trophy even easier now.

I don’t agree with the friend above: the easiest way to take the trophy is with three people - the bosses will be fatter, but you disperse the attention of the boss and the mobs, it’s easier to heal and resurrect each other, when playing alone / together the mobs will be pinned in the corner and the khan
You don’t have to be the host for the trophy: join an existing survival as a third player - you don’t have to wait for them to come in, and the host is unlikely to shower in the process
Knocked out the trophy, as he stopped rushing forward, and played carefully and a little behind and support: kill mobs on bosses, heal and resurrect teammates; It would be a good idea to buy a ring and upgrade the perk to increase the resurrection speed, otherwise it will take a long time and the boss and mobs may overwhelm you while you resurrect.

In general, the mode may seem difficult at first, but after playing everything turns out to be easier.
Key items are a turret, a ring for HP regen from minion damage, and a disc cutter. For some bosses, it would be nice to have an assault rifle or a Thompson in addition to the disk cutter. Everything else is optional; it’s easier to play if you wear HP armor. Be sure to buy an elixir for 2500 for 50 HP and closer to 10 bosses, preferably for 25% armor. We also remove dls 2933 first.
We put the turrets in the Topmson disc assault rifle. In the slot for the pistol there are turtle dolls. Turrets with a ring constantly keep full HP, a lot of HP allows you to get hit in the face by bosses. Before the race, it would be good to watch videos of the passage of this mode, in particular bosses, and remember approximately how to beat. Well, a little bit of randomness so that you don’t come across difficult bosses and the necessary items appear quickly.
According to the set, it’s good if there is labyrinth armor, but not critical.
In terms of locations, you don’t need to go through everything thoroughly; as soon as you’ve assembled the core build, speedrun to the bosses: the difficulty will be easier and you’ll finish it faster.

If you are a desperate and self-confident player, then you can immediately start a new game with the survival mode, because while completing this mode you can earn rewards for the story campaign. For example, the “Talisman of Perseverance” item will allow you to gain additional experience and develop talents faster, and the “Black Rose” item will give you a full armor bonus for just 2 units. from the kit. In survival mode, you can farm “flickering shards”, which are needed for the trophy “The latest craze” : buy 40 armor looks. On “normal” difficulty, killing a heavy mob can randomly give 3 units. "glimmering shards" Killing a boss always gives 3 units. "flickering fragments"
Survival mode will be much easier to complete if you install the main game and only the Swamps of Corsus DLC. There is no need to install the “Subject 2923” DLC because it makes survival mode more difficult with new loot progression and new difficult bosses! Without the Subject 2923 DLC, the host player will only generate survival mode from the main locations of the game! Such a player-host can easily create an open game in survival mode for random people or a closed game for friends, even if someone has all the DLC installed. I repeat once again, playing survival mode for the sake of getting trophies is much easier and faster without “Subject 2923”! It's better to delete the game once and download it again.
