How to unlock the Push It to the Limit achievement in Remnant: From the Ashes - Definitive Guide

Upgrading a weapon (or armor) is done by Rigs in Ward 13 and requires several scrap and iron types.
The amount of scrap and the kind of iron needed will depend on the level of the weapon you're upgrading.
You can buy all the iron types from Ace (also in Ward 13) or certain merchants but only after you've found the iron type in the field.
Another albeit slower method is to jump into random lobbies to use their merchants HOWEVER the merchant's inventory is based on the hosts progress and doesn't split resources between players so if you go into a person's game and buy all their items there won't be anything left for anyone else and you will make enemies.

The types of irons spawned in an area are based on your gear.
For example if you have something at +5 you'll start finding Forged Iron but you'll never find Galvanized or Hardened Iron until you get something that actually requires it and even then it's a slave to the RNG.
You can find all the irons on Normal with enough grinding but I didn't find any Hardened Iron until I re-rolled onto a Hard playthrough so it's random when you find it; my theory is that the more items you have that need it the more likely it is to spawn but take that with a grain of salt.

Iron is used to level up to +5
Forged Iron is for +6 to +10
Galvanized Iron is for +11 to +15
Hardened Iron is for +16 to +19

Once you get to +19 you must spend 1 Simulacrum to get the final upgrade.
Simulacrum is not only ultra rare but also is used for upgrading your Dragon Hearts so unless you're hording resources you need to either get very lucky or re-roll till you get one.

Note that if a weapon requires any Luminite it is a boss weapon and will only go to +10 so those won't contribute to this Achievement.

it's frustrating but unfortunately keep at it is all i can really say.
it spawned for me in a friend's game and it just kept coming in from that point in my own world.
maybe joining a friend who has some will help?

possibly delayed or glitched. hard resets or upgrading a different weapon might help but unfortunately that's outside my knowledge

as far as i know it's just what's equipped.
because of the RNG it's hard to pinpoint specifics but from what I saw on other forums you need at least 1 equipped item at +5, +15, etc to spawn the next material whatever it may be

To get hardened iron you have to upgrade most part of your weapons/armor to +15, it seems like the game give you some type of iron in fonction of your stuff level, or in fonction of what you need the more to upgrade all your stuff.
I don’t know if playing on hard increase the drop, but I fond hardened iron on hard and normal.

Unlocked for upgrading any non-boss weapon to +20. The weapon upgrades require materials that you find as loot throughout the game. The materials needed change depending on the level of upgrade. You will first need to use Iron to get a non-boss weapon to +5 at which point you will start to find the next level of upgrade material, Forged Iron. This will allow you to upgrade your non-boss weapons to +10, also allowing you to unlock the above achievement, "Halfway There".

As you get your weapons and equipment to +10 you will then start to find the next level of upgrade material, Galvanized Iron and you can use this to upgrade your non-boss weapons to +15. After getting your weapons to +15 you will start to find the final upgrade material, Hardened Iron allowing you to get your weapons to +19. To then acquire the final upgrade of +20 you will need to use a 'Simulacrum' which is a very rare upgrade material used either to acquire the final upgrade to a weapon or piece of armour, or used to acquire another 'Dragon Heart'. These are exceedingly rare and due to the random nature of the game there is no set location to find them. It is reported that there is only 1 per world and with there being only 4 worlds, that means only 4 will appear per playthrough, so when you find 1 of them, it is advised to keep hold of it for this achievement. Once you have a Simulacrum use it to upgrade any of your non-boss weapons from +19 to +20 to unlock this achievement.

To upgrade a weapon to +20, you need a simulacrum. It is found randomly and is needed, in addition to pumping weapons to the maximum, also to increase the number of dragon hearts. The thing is both rare and no less valuable. But I found a way to farm it without much difficulty.
The game has two saves. One save the WORLD. Second CHARACTER save.
To get a bunch of simulacra we do the following.
1. Find a simulacrum in the game. It glows a certain color. Can be found anywhere, both in story mode and in adventure mode. Under no circumstances should you take it yet!!! Exit the game by saving it.
2. On the console, go to the save menu and upload the save with the GAME WORLD, NOT THE CHARACTER, to a flash drive or to the cloud - this is IMPORTANT. If you copy to the cloud, then you need to uncheck the box with automatic uploading of saves to the cloud in advance, otherwise the system itself may overwrite the save for us, which we don’t need.
3. We go back to the game and take our simulacrum. We exit, saving the game.
4. Go to the save menu again, only this time we copy the WORLD (Not CHARACTER) save we made earlier from the flash drive/cloud to the CONSOLE memory.
We repeat points 3.4 as many times as necessary.
It turns out that after point 3 the character has one more simulacrum, and after point 4 a simulacrum appears in the world again, despite the fact that the character has not lost it either. This action can be done with any object. But everything except simulacra can be collected this way.
The main thing when copying saves is not to copy the Character’s save, so in this case we will simply return to point 1 and there will be no point. On PS5, select which save you will copy in the submenu next to the save.
I also want to note that weapons from bosses are not suitable for the trophy (they are upgraded for crystals), since their level is +10 maximum.
For platinum you need to upgrade 2a weapons by +20. One is ranged, the other is melee. For this they give according to talent, of which you need to get 30 pieces.
Update I described the hint in a little more detail, since it was a little unclear and people wrote questions to me, I hope it’s more clear now!-))). I would like to inform you that since the tip was originally written, additional talents have been added to the game that are available without dlc, so it may not be necessary to get talents for weapons 20+

If you upgraded a weapon +20 in someone else's host and the trophy did not fall out, then go to your company and upgrade any weapon to +1, the trophy should fall out.

You can boost stmulacrums much faster. See my tip for platinum. You can get 3 simulacra every 5-10 minutes. And more additional materials.

Simulacrum is an extremely rare item, spend it wisely. You can find one in each world. In the “Object 2923” add-on there is also one simulacrum, but not on the location, and the merchant appears somewhere in the middle of the passage, don’t miss the chance. In Adventure mode, a simulacrum may or may not exist. For the most part, it is absent there, since the adventure maps are small compared to the campaign. But, if you are very lucky, during an adventure you may find more than one simulacra on the map at a time! I've had this happen, it's been proven.
