You will end up with half your original money right? Because they only give you half when you you sell them back.

This is probably common sense, but upgrading the scavenger trait to 20 helps and equiping the scavenger's bauble that you get in Yaesha also helps. Between those two things your scrap pick up will be boosted by 85%.

I was missing 40k but had 80k in scrap. I bought 99 ammo cases for 20k and sold back for 10k. Repeat 4 times

For this trophy, you need to earn 200k scrap overall. You don't need all of it at once. There a few ways to make this trophy a little easier, although do note that it will still be one of the final ones you unlock.

1.Equipping the Adventurer Gear you start with can increase the amount of scrap you pick up by a moderate amount.

2.In Yaesha, you can obtain the Scavenger's Bauble(+50% scrap bonus) in the Shrine of the Doe, which randomly appears. Solve the bell puzzle by quickly shooting the bells like so, 5 - 4 - 3 - 3 - 4 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 2 - 1 (leftmost bell is 1 and the rightmost bell is 5).

3.Putting trait points into the Scavenger Trait, obtained by earning 10k total scrap or by giving the Tarnished Ring(found randomly on Earth) to Reggie.

4.Leveling up your gear. As your gear levels up, your overall Equipment rating also goes up. The closer it is to 20, the more scrap you'll be picking up.

5.Towards the end of your playthrough, if you still haven't gotten the trophy, you can sell all of your items, then re-purchase them, then sell again, etc. All the scrap you earn from selling will contribute to the 200k.

Unlocked for acquiring a cumulative total of 200,000 scrap. Scrap is this games currency and is used for purchasing consumables, purchasing weapons and armour and crafting weapon mods and boss weapons. Scrap will make up a majority of the loot that you pick up from defeated enemies and in chests scattered throughout the world. This of course will come naturally as you play however it is a large amount and will likely take more than a single playthrough to have gained enough.

Note there is a trait, 'Scavenger' that increases the amount of scrap that you gain by up to 50% at level 20 so it is advisable to get this as soon as possible. See the description for "Unleash Your Potential" for information on where to acquire this.

There is also an amulet called 'Scavenger's Bauble' that increases scrap picked up by 35%, however due to the random nature of the game and it's level design, there is no guaranteed location to pick this up, unfortunately. It is however not necessary to get 200,000 as the trait alone will provide a large boost.

In 2 playthroughs you will collect approximately 120,000-150,000 scrap. And you can do it like I did, so as not to run around and farm.
We take and sell all classifications of iron to the merchant, maybe lumite crystals. And we buy it back, we sell it, we buy it back. Everything that was sold will not disappear and will always be with the trader, in 3 minutes I increased it from 160k to 200, respectively.
