As stated you just need to kill any 5 different enemy types with this weapon.
Can't confirm if this was a fluke or an easy solution, but I already had this achievement when a friend joined my game who had not unlocked the Hard Light Projector in his solo game. He got the achievement after only one kill with it in my session.
