So, seems like nobody tryed it but i got great news, you just need to research the weapon and gadget and be able to open the upgrade tree, then just preview (X), you don't even need to use it, you just need to equip enter the test lab and exit right away, be aware that you have to do it for each one of the upgrade for the gold start to show, so 18 times for the gadjets and 54 times for weapons, more or less 1h for all. If you can't find a parterner for share at least you got a way.
P.S.
You need to start a mission afther you did all or it wont count

woah, I did notice that I had stars for upgrades I did not buy yet but had used the preview function on the weapon. So are you telling me that those count towards this achievement? If so this is gonna save me hours on a second play-through!

Yes it tooks you 1h more or less for test each one of them, the bad part is that you have to single test each one but hey better then a second play-through!

I can confirm my progress bar rises when I tested the weapons, although it only rose when I played an actual level. So there is no way to test/preview a gadget once you have chosen a path for them, right?

Yes if you already upgrade a gadget or a weapon you can't check the other one unfortunate

Haven't played the game so just a question. When exactly can you do this? As you're playing through the game for first time? Or is it afterwards in a second playthough but you don't need to actually playthrough?

Meanwhile you play, the game task you with different sub-quest, like kill tot of this monster use the weapon mod tot time ecc that unlock the upagrade part in the university, i suggest you just to focus on the main mission (top right of the corner) until you reach the final portal on the map, another tip don't take pyramid and foggy island let them in the fog for 2 cheevo later. When you reach the final quest focus on research just the weapons and gadjets then you can try each upgrade like i wrote in the guide, hope it helps.

On my first playthrough I unlocked all weapons and did no upgrade. Once I had everything unlocked I previewed every upgrade and got the achievement as soon as I started the next mission. Thank you Sistedodlta for the great find! This saves so much time!

This achievement will require 2 playthroughs. You must get every single weapon and gadget upgrade in the game. Picking an upgrade will lock you out of the other upgrade in the same tier. When you play your second playthrough the game marks which upgrade you've already picked with a small gold star in the upper right corner of the upgrade image making it easy to know which upgrades you are missing.

For me the achievement is stuck at 80% and there is no way in hell I'm playing the game 2 more times for the sake of this

Can someone help me with unlocking the uncertainty helmet upgrade? I can not figure out what I need to do for it

Weapons used during multiplayer sessions count as well. So, you can save yourself an entire playthrough if you coordinate upgrades with a buddy.

I just did a playthrough and upgraded the left path of everything, whereas a friend did a playthrough upgrading the right path of everything. When we were both finish we loaded into each others games and used each others weapons. It took 20-25 minutes tops to get us both the achievement by aborting missions. Sure beats a second playthrough!

I highly suggest getting a partner for this. Have one of you take all the right-side upgrades and the other takes all the left-side upgrades.

Once you are both finished with all the upgrades you can join the other players game, equip each weapon and gadget (which will use their upgrades), start a round, and then quit as soon as progress is gained for each weapon/gadget.
You don't need to use the weapons or gadgets, just having equipped them is sufficient.

It shouldn't take more than three minutes per person.

You can open up the saves you already have and view your weapons and gadgets in the info page to see what upgrades you have on them. Hopefully you'd only need one more partial playthrough when you find what you're doubling up on. And you can always restart until you start with the weapon you need. If you're actually glitches at 80% then that's rough.
Also remember that you actually need to play a match with every upgraded weapon and gadget. So simply replaying and quiting out with everything real quick would be a good check.

Yeah, I'm stuck at 95% for some reason. On my second playthrough I did notice that two items somehow had both options in one upgrade starred; I guessed and was wrong on one of them. But, I started a third playthrough until I got the weapon to start, maxed it ASAP, and...still stuck at 95% after playing with it. Double- and triple-checked for any other overlap and there's none. I'm wondering if you have to get to a certain point or something? But man, I really don't feel like grinding out a whole other run just for one achievement...
