How to unlock the Gotcha! achievement in RESIDENT EVIL 2 - Definitive Guide
Proceeding through the new doors will start this boss fight. During phase 1, run around the room avoiding the fire on the ground, and dodging the ceiling attacks. Once G enters the room, leave out the door he came through, moving onto the crane platform. Move the crane to start the fight. At this point, damage G, and down him at least 2 times (on assisted) or 4 times (on normal), to the point that his eye is dark red and at a certain point Leon will say "Bet I can use the crane", and then down him somewhere near the middle of the platform.
Once this happens, quickly interact with the crane to finish the fight using only one crane use.
Also, if you don't have a lot of ammo, the knife does surprisingly a lot of damage to him. I had to make do with what they gave me, plus 3 MAG ammo. Annoying, but did it.
-At the beginning of the checkpoint, press the button to send away the crane.
-Grab the flash grenade to the right of the button and equip it in the inventory.
-Face the boss, throw the grenade, making him blind.
-Equip the flamethrower and empty your entire clip at him: he should get on his knee and not move the whole time.
-Once he's toast, press the button. Don't hesitate to just another flash grenade if you have one to keep him in the crane's trajectory.
Stage 2 G will be the second boss fight of the game and takes place at the end of the Sewers section. You will find yourself on a small platform with 2 crane controls. One button will send the crane's arm swinging away from the platform and the other will have it swing back into position. What you need to do is press the button to have the crane swing its arm away and then get Stage 2 G stunned and in the path of the crane. Once he is in the path of the crane, you need to press the other button and have it swing back around and hit him to knock him off the platform. The timing on this is important: you will need to start the crane swinging, then stun him as soon as possible, then get out of the way of it yourself. The timing is tight and may take multiple attempts, so make a save in the room where the type writer is before this boss fight and if you miss, reload your save and try again.
Sometimes a successful hit will not knock him off the platform too, so it is advised to deal some damage to him before attempting to knock him off and to be attempting this on the Easy difficulty. See the video below for a demonstration;
