How to unlock the I Might Need These Later! achievement in RESIDENT EVIL 3 - Definitive Guide
This achievement can be done on any difficulty and is easiest to complete on Assisted mode.
All SHOP items can be used for this achievement.
Assisted mode will heal you from caution to fine after a couple of minutes, even without a Recovery Coin.
The game forces you to use a green herb when you become infected early on in the game. This is the only heal you will be able to utilize during the playthrough. Be careful not to use healing up to/after that point.
(NOTE: Nick S reported that on Assisted mode, the game automatically removed the parasite after he restored all power switches and left the area. Keep in mind that while this may allow you to keep a healing item to use for later, you will be stuck at "caution" until you use the item, have a Recovery Coin equipped, or playing on ASSISTED.)
To make sure you dont screw up, save before and after every boss fight as Nemesis is the easiest way to take damage. I also recommend saving once at every save location you encounter to be extra safe.
If you are low on health, be sure to simply reload to your last checkpoint (auto saves work) and try the area again, hopefully retaining more of your health.
IMPORTANT: Jill and Carlos gain a free heal when taking control of them after playing as the other. Make sure you utilize this. If your at low health as Jill just before switching to Carlos, once you return to Jill, she will be fully healed.
Please comment if I missed something important or if you have an additional strategy and I will update.
Good Luck!

Yes you can use any item you unlock from the shop. Infinite Ammo guns, coins, etc.

You can actually stack this one with a Nightmare or Inferno run since the only time an herb will be used is when you enter the spider lair at the Subway Power Substation to get rid of the parasites Jill gets infected with. The recovery coins will recover any health loss if you happen to take any hits. Two Recovery Coins will cost 8000P in the Shop in the Main Menu under Bonuses. Quickly tapping the button, if grabbed, will actually effect how much damage you'd receive. So beat the QTE before the enemy's attack, and you'll receive no damage.

At the power plant, when you are infected with parasites according to the plot (this will be through a cut-scene), you can use it.
Or if you are worried, buy “recovery coins” in the in-game store and don’t worry about the trophy.

Coins will not restore health during poisoning; you must use herbs.
