How to unlock the Mission Accomplished S+ achievement in Resident Evil 4 - Definitive Guide

A ‘cheese’ way of doing this is exactly as follows (works in both standard and hardcore):

Pre-requisite:
- Unlock the Chicago sweeper by completing professional mode in under 7 hours (easy on NG+ with infinite launcher, I did it in 3 hours).

New game:
- Start a NEW game.
- Advance through the game as normal, you need to be quite quick but take time to pick up treasures etc. for chapters 1-5 (do not let any chapter take longer than 20-25 minutes).
- Do the first 8 requests from the merchant (these are all very quick and easy). This step is VERY important.
- Routinely upgrade the power of your handgun where possible in chapters 1-5. This will help with the bosses you will face in the village section.
- Save at a typewriter as often as possible. If you die, QUIT THE GAME AND RELOAD THE SAVE, this will stop the countdown timer.

Cheese:
- After completing the first 8 requests from the merchant, you will have enough currency to buy an exclusive weapon upgrade ticket. This can be bought from the merchant at the very start or chapter 7 (castle). This will give the Chicago sweeper INFINITE AMMO.
- You can now rush through the rest of the game using the powerful Chicago sweeper weapon with infinite ammo (you need to complete the game in under 5 hours for the achievement).

The upgrade ticket can only be bought in chapter 9 btw, other than that good guide

xxsnipeUkylexx , like the guide say if you complete all 8 merchant quests on the Village you could get the ticket as soon as you reach the castle , after defeating Bitores

Yes but the ability to buy the ticket does not become available until chapter 9.

Well the achievement is for getting an S+ rank which you can only get in a new playthrough, not Ng+

Yes you can use bonus weapons you unlock that you get in the extra shop and still get a S+.(they are located at the typewriter no matter what file you are on) It just CAN’T be NG+ file.

Handy to note, you can immediately skip cutscenes and comm calls by pausing then pressing Y. Saves several minutes over a full run.

@themonkeyking89 That might be the case but you can't get S+ in NG+

This apparently doesn't stack with Hardcore S+. Got that one done, but still gotta go through and do this one separately. Oh well, least this one will be a cake walk.

Pre order weapons shouldn't void the achievement either right?

You might want to put in guide requirements for getting S+ rank on standard, under what time and any other stipulations required.

@TheDevilzHand I managed to get both achievements when doing the S+ Professional difficulty and landed right below the five hour mark. Did you get above 5:00 when doing Hardcore?

"Pre order weapons shouldn't void the achievement either right?"

No. Only weapons unlocked using points in the extras menu void the achievement (primal knife, chicago, etc)

@fabian907 Yeah, my Hardcore run was just under 4 hours. 3 hours and 50 something minutes. I noticed that when I did Professional S+ it unlocked the Wolf Tail too though. So maybe for some reason it only stacks if you do Professional.

@Quantum Binman that's not true. You can use bonus weapons for S+, the game just needs to be started from a fresh file. I've done S+ on Standard, Hardcore, and Professional using the method where you get infinite ammo for Chicago Sweeper at the start of chapter 7 by doing all merchant requests prior to that. Bonus weapons voids getting the Handcannon, not S+.

So annoying I spent 5 hours getting hardcore S+ just for this to not stack 🤦‍♂️

Do NOT waste your time attempting to stack this and Hardcore S+ on professional like I did, I only gotten an S despite being well under the required time, I think the amount of saves also factors on Pro for if you get S+ or not. Over 9 hours of my life lost there and now I think I’ll just do the two playthroughs instead.

This was fairly easy on my 5th or so playthrough and having a very good grasp of how to go from A to B as fast as possible. I think I had only 1 hour 30 minutes to do the island and was getting a bit worried about the time left but finished it in 4h30m. I was really sweating it during the slow walking sections near the end but it's not actually that bad. Definitely buy a rocket launcher and use one for Salazar boss, one for the final boss to just have them done in seconds.

I think it took me 2 whole hours to do chapters 1-6 which is fairly slow but I was following Makas very comprehensive video to get all the treasures and merchant requests to get the exclusive upgrade for the Chicago Sweeper. It's a bit of a pea-shooter but not having to reload is the best part about it.

I'm about to do the same for Hardcore and funnily enough the hardest part is the start since you just have a shitty pistol and not nearly enough ammo lying around.

To do this, you’ll need to start a New Game (not New Game+) on Standard mode, and beat Resident Evil 4 in under five hours. No easy task, although you can use bonus weapons that you have unlocked. For the best way to tackle this task, take a look at our Achievement Guide & Roadmap above. Frustratingly, this does NOT stack with S+ Rank Investigator (50G) meaning they will have to be separate playthroughs.
