This is a hard fight, you MUST tip over the canisters to freeze Verdugo. While he is frozen, unload on him. He's beefy so I would recommend a magnum or shotgun. Don't waste a rocket, he won't die in one hit from it. He's very fast and can trap you, always make sure you have an exit behind you so you can run.

Grenades can help quite a bit too, if you have any.

Incendiary ones deal a ton of damage, and I don't think they affect the freezing (though I could be wrong).

(Missable) This is a storyline related trophy but can be missed. Near the end of Chapter 4-1 you'll fall victim to one of Salazar's traps and be down in the depths of the castle. Salazar will call you and inform you that his right hand (which comes off) is coming to kill you. Verdugo is an optional boss but you must kill him to earn this trophy.

Verdugo is the only optional boss fight in the game and is surprisingly easy if you're prepared. You will also encounter him before you can actually fight and kill him.

Pre-Fight

You'll be walking down a winding hallway and he will attack you, you can dodge his attacks with contextual dodge commands. Your goal in this part is to reach the far room and reboot the power to the area. Once you turned the power on the door will seal, approach the door and Verdugo will enter the area.

Fight

All of Verdugo's attacks have contextual dodge commands, so be ready when he's near. Scattered around the area are giant red cylinders or Liquid Nitrogen, these are the key to defeating Verdugo. When he gets close interact with the cylinders and Verdugo will get frozen; when frozen he will move very slowly and take increased damage. Do not bother attacking him if he is not frozen as it is a waste of ammunition.

Other
Verdugo can be killed in one hit with a Rocket Launcher. You can pick up a Rocket Launcher in Chapter 3-3 or buy one from the Merchant in the start of Verdugo's area. He will need to be frozen for it to be a one-shot kill.

As said previously this fight is optional. Once the doorway opens, the power is rebooted and the elevator in the area is operational. You can escape from Verdugo if you are unable to kill him, however you will miss out on this trophy.

This achievement is missable!

Near the end of chapter 4-1, you will get a cutscene in which Salazar will drop you into a pit. Go on and dodge all the quick time events until you are in the section where Verdugo appears. Power on the elevator control and wait for Verdugo to show himself. Now you can kill Verdugo or you can keep dodging his attacks until the lift comes. To unlock the achievement, you need to kill Verdugo.

There are two ways you can kill him:

  • There are four bottles of liquid nitrogen one in each of the three rooms and one in the tunnel. Throw down the liquid nitrogen bottles and shoot him with what you have got. After that, wait until the rolling shutter opens and run to the next nitrogen bottle and do the same. Then do the same with the other two bottles, if you have shot him enough he will die.

  • If you have the cash and the space to carry one you can buy a rocket launcher from the shop before the battle. You will still need to throw down the nitrogen bottle then hit him with the rocket.

There is an easy way to defeat him, but this requires an RPG, it can be found for free in a glass display case, or you can buy it. Just turn the balloon over to this weirdo and when it freezes, shoot at the mutant and he will crumble into small pieces. If there is no RPG or it’s a pity to waste it, then turn over the cylinders and do a kick with your feet, then take out a magnum (preferably pumped up) and shoot in the head and then 2 more times in the torso and so on 3 times. For the last time, load 4 rounds from a magnum, and on the 4th last cylinder, a couple of rounds from a shotgun will be enough.

Be careful, you may miss the trophy as you progress!
After meeting Salazar and falling into the sewer in Chapter 4-1, you will meet a merchant on your way. Be sure to buy an RPG from him so that the boss does not cause you problems, especially if you play in the “Hardcore” mode. We just drop the balloon on Verdugo and kill him with one shot from the RPG.

For hardcore fans. Dojim all attacks [ + And + ] when we are at a distance and, if necessary, run past. This way he won't hit you with a regular attack. Verdigo freezes even if the balloon did not fall at the moment of its appearance, it is enough for it to fall into the white fog, so you can wait for it. I shot him with a pumped-up sniper rifle (extreme rifle), about 1.5 clips, I didn’t count. The boss dies on the last cylinder. It's very easy to escape from him - run. If you don't zigzag with the pereseru and stop, he will constantly miss.

Story trophy. Given after killing this boss, in order to kill him, you need to turn over cylinders of liquid nitrogen on him and while he freezes, hit him with either a magnum or an SMG.

I took him down rpg in 1-2 seconds. but spent 30,000 pts on it, but it was worth it. And in general, it’s better to beat all the bosses on a professional RPG, I did that, I completed it in 5.48 hours. 8)

the best way is this:

we take the RPG from the old man and the striker!

we run away from the reptile, we reach the end of the corridor, we throw the canister, we shoot!

the boss freezes, take the RPG and shoot at him and that’s it

On a professional level it may be necessary to finish shooting.

On your first playthrough, you don’t need to buy a grenade launcher; it’s in the display case for free. After the room in the castle where the cage falls on the chest and you in the next room raises the bridge to the door. Max has enough suitcase so that it does not interfere before the fight with Verdugo.
