How to unlock the What Are They Worth? achievement in Resident Evil 4 - Definitive Guide

(Missable) To earn this trophy you will need to earn all 24 bottle caps in the game. There are 4 shooting sets and 5 shooting galleries in the game. To open up all the shooting sets you'll need to visit at least 4 shooting galleries. The shooting sets are labeled as; A, B, C and D.

If you do not visit at least 4 of the shooting galleries, you will not open up all 4 shooting sets.

Objective
You can gain up to 5 bottle caps in a shooting set by earning 3000+ points. You will need to earn 3000+ points at least 5 times for each bottle cap. The sixth bottle cap is earned by hitting all 25 enemy targets without hitting any Ashley target or earning a score of 3500+; the Salazar target does not count for the 25. The shooting set will change how the targets appear after you earn 4 of the normal bottle caps.

Scoring
Male Ganado = 50 Points (100 Headshot)
Female Ganado = 50 Points (200 Headshot)
Salazar Head = 500 Points
Ashley Graham = -1000

To have a Salazar head target appear, you need to hit 5 targets consecutively without missing. The back of the shooting gallery will open up and the target will move from right to left before disappearing.

Shooting Gallery Locations

Chapter 3-1 In the foyer room after the Ashley Crank room.

Chapter 4-1 Next to the merchant after taking the ridable car.

Chapter 4-2 Next to the merchant at the start of the stage.

Chapter 5-1 Before entering the Regenerator area.

Chapter 5-3 At the Merchant after fighting U3

This achievement is missable!

The way it works is this:

1: There are 6 bottle caps for each section, totalling 24 caps (4 game modes A, B, C and D).

2: You can access all games modes at once in 5-3.

3: After three bottle caps (score above 3000 each time) the layout changes for the last two (technically 3 depending on the order you get them in).

4: In each game mode, the 6th cap is special, either getting about 4000 points OR hitting all the non-friendly targets anywhere on the body (you can miss shots if you hit them eventually).
THE MOVING SALAZAR HEAD TARGET DOES NOT COUNT TOWARDS THE HIT COUNT.

5: Your best bet is to use the pistol for everything, you can attempt to use the sniper for Salazar's heads, but I find the pistol best. Reason for not using the sniper normally is it's slower plus you need to reload after every shot. And it penetrates multiple targets, so you won't get that 5 hits in a row for the Salazar's head if you use it.

When you get to the first gallery there will be a note where the merchant is giving you the rules.

Scoring
Male Ganado = 50 Points (100 Headshot)
Female Ganado = 50 Points (200 Headshot)
Salazar Head = 500 Points
Ashley Graham = -1000

I listened to the advice to shoot from the TMP, which is why I had to almost ideally hit all the targets in the head. But after about half of the caps I picked up a pistol and a gun and everything went like clockwork. The whole point of pistol shooting is one shot = one target. If possible, hit the head, otherwise just hit the target. After every fifth target, Salazar's head will appear in the distance giving 500 points. But you need to shoot without missing, otherwise Salazar will not appear. I mostly managed with a pistol, but the last 1-2 caps required not 3000, but 4000 points, which was already more difficult, since it is sometimes difficult to aim at a small target with a pistol. And here a gun with a scope came in handy more than ever. As soon as we shoot 5 targets without missing and Salazar’s head appears on the horizon, we quickly switch to the gun and shoot at it with maximum zoom. Then back to the gun. This tactic turned out to be many times simpler for me than shooting with TMP. Moreover, it is difficult to make one shot with it, usually 2-3 bullets fly out, which is why one flies into the target, and the rest go nowhere, and Salazar does not appear. I hope my tactics are useful to someone.

Fundamentally wrong hint. I don't know where the author got such details from, especially regarding glasses. I only agree with the Dwarf’s eye and the conditions for its appearance. After reading the hint, I was taken aback and prepared for the worst. I received it in 3/15 - in about 20 minutes. Everything is very simple, you don’t need to knock anyone into your head, we read:

- leave getting the trophy until the very end. I knocked him out on the ISLAND. By this time, you should already be quite familiar with the mechanics of the game and have acquired the appropriate shooting skills.
- go to the shooting range and calmly select any of the 4 possible levels [A;B;C;D]
- shoot the TMP first [get 4 caps]
- then take the same level and wet the PISTOL + RIFLE [get 2 caps]
- and so on at every level! Understood? I mean, 4 caps are given for the first set of weapons and 2 caps for the second!!! That's the meaning. It seems that it is possible in another way, but for me this principle ran through the entire route.

A few words about glasses. I hit about 3700 at most and never 4000. When I got the last 2 caps [at level D, it’s like the last and most difficult], I failed 3 and went into the minus by 1000 - it didn’t affect me at all, I got the caps. Therefore, everything is very simple. I just made a maximum of 2-3 attempts and that was it!!! I did the reset myself! As a result, there was no such thing that the treasured 4 or 2 caps did not fall off for me at the end of the level. Like this. In short, don’t worry too much, the trophy is very accessible, not “nerdy” and interesting

P.S.: By the way! A small life hack for you from me. Play on CONTROL TYPE 1 (the very first one). If you aim , then it can be customized , , And - the sight actually moves faster))) I found out quite by accident when I was figuring out the controls

I want to say that with a Pistol you need to slowly shoot targets, I personally made the third layout of buttons and everything went swimmingly, in 20 minutes I knocked everything out, they don’t immediately give you traffic jams only after you finish the round, tell the merchant that you are finishing the game and he will give you there are traffic jams + I also want to say that don’t bother with finding doors for the shooting range, everything can be obtained on the island, by the way, the person above wrote that he couldn’t get 4000 points, strangely I was able to get 4300 points, you just need to get the hang of shooting with a pistol and the main thing is not to miss so that the head of the dwarf Salazar appears, for me personally it appeared if I shot without missing (not necessarily at the head) 3-4 times

Everything is even simpler, you just need to go through each level of the shooting range normally 2-3 times. Since the days of PS2, I have only shot from TMP and now I do the same.
A - 2 approaches. 4 and 2 caps depending on glasses.
B - 3 sets of 3, 2 and 1 cover.
C and D will be the same.
If you shoot at the carcasses and don't miss, you will more than compensate for the reduced points for hitting the wrong heads with Salazar's eye.

Just play at one level of the shooting range until you knock out 6 caps, that’s all, at the bottom when the result appears, when it says “Prize 6”, go out and give the data to the merchant, he will give you a decent amount of points. It’s just that if you score few points, you won’t get the roof, we just keep replaying until “Prize 6”.

Nothing complicated.
We take a pistol and a rifle.
It is not necessary to always hit the head, but preferably the more, the better.
If you hit the head, a man gets 100 points, a woman gets 200 points.
When you hit targets continuously 5 times, a target with Salazar's head appears, and when you hit it, you get 500 points.
You don’t have to shoot down all the targets, you need to score 3000 points, but I easily scored 4000 and even 4300 points.
Don't hit Ashley's target, otherwise it will be -1000 points.
I think it would be better to go through the shooting range when playing on Professional, go through it gradually, and the coins will be used to upgrade weapons.
There are 4 modes in total: A, B, C, D.
In each you need to win 6 times, after which we go out and get caps and coins to upgrade our weapons.
