How to unlock the Real Deadeye achievement in Resident Evil 4 - Definitive Guide

I liked this guide the most 'cause it describes in the video the order of shooting and where deadeyes will pop up for 100% completion, when to switch/reload weapons, timing, etc.

As mentioned here you can complete all previous shooting ranges in the next shooting range. (For example, if you are in Chapter 9, you can complete both Chapter 3 and Chapter 9 shooting ranges challenges.)

Total: 12 shooting ranges. Unlocked in groups of three in chapters: 3, 9, 11, 14.

Note: In Chapter 15 there will be also a shooting range with all previous challenges but without new ones. So Chapter 15 is your last opportunity to complete all on S rank.

This achievement is going to be the death of me. It is horrible, its the only one I need and its just an awful achievement. Really struggling with it.

I already spent well around 3 hours getting the first 9 S rank and am dreading the last three.

Best advice I got from someone on this website (I forget who you are, otherwise I'd give credit.) Just pace yourself. Do one or two challenges at a time. If you just can't beat a challenge, put the game down, do something else. Then come back the next day with a fresh mind.

Challenge 4-A was the bane of my existence for two days. Then today I woke up, got it first try.

Don't forget that to reach S rank it's not necessary to shoot deadeyes.

4C I had to switch to the shotgun when the targets were on the ceiling, but everything else was just spot on.

I'm getting over 8,800 on 4A and still not getting to bonus time

Missed deadeye is a cause of the problem or not all pirates were shot. Or both :)

You're both incorrect ^

The bonus round prerequisites are at the bottom when you're choosing with stage you want to play.

"Shoot all pirates in 20 shots or less" is how you get the bonus round. Has nothing to do with score, or the skulls.

I'm surprised this isn't the highest ratio achievement of all, even getting NG S+ on professional is easier than this.

Yes this is very hard, but it's doable if you're determined. Heck, I got the S rank on 4-C having missed 15 targets because I got no score penalties and I hit the skulls pretty well. Some of the strats from the video didn't work that well for me, but if that happens you can usually just come up with something else to compensate for what you're having an issue with. Especially on the ones with multiple guns, you can often swap which gun you're using for what.

The saving grace of this one is that 4-C gives an S even without reaching the "bonus time" range at the end, as getting that is.... unreasonable. Hitting all targets for 4-C is a great way to lose your sanity. No one in their right mind should even try that in my opinion. Just shoot away at the targets in 4-C following videos on getting rhythm. Not letting a couple of misses get you down. I missed at least 5 targets I think, obviously no "bonus time" because it requires all targets. Still got an S. With just a couple of skulls hit. So I fell VERY far short from anything perfect. Don't try to perfect 4-C. Okay can be good enough there.

Other than that for the other levels : just pay attention to what the bonus time requirement is at the bottom of the card. Sometimes it's all pirates, sometimes all pirates in less than x shots. If you're doing well but not getting to the bonus time, check the requirement, chances are you just need to use less shots via penetrating shots or via shotgun spread.

Don't lose your mind in getting every single skull. They help with the score but they are not strictly required for S ranks. Instead try to find a rhythm per round and if your run gets ruined by going too diligently for skulls, just focus on hitting at least the normal targets instead in that round and see where that leads you. If that is not enough, go for the skulls you feel confident in getting and if needed, go for small improvements from there via more skulls and/or quickness.

Of the Resident Evil 4 achievements in the remake, Real Deadeye is one of the more difficult ones to unlock. You will need to complete each of the 12 shooting range challenges to reveal the bonus condition for each. Once you know the condition, you will need to meet the criteria to unlock the bonus round (for all except 4-C), giving you a chance to rack up a higher score, boosting it from an A rank to S. The bonus conditions are usually for killing all pirates, killing them in a specific amount of time, or killing them within a specific number of shots.

Shooting ranges are found by taking the elevator next to the merchant in Chapters 3, 9, 11, 14, and 15. A new set of 3 challenges will unlock when you reach the range in the first 4 chapters listed. Chapter 15 is there to give you a final chance to complete the challenges before the end of the game. You can save all challenges until you reach either Chapter 14 or 15.

You will have to get the S rank on all 12 stages of the shooting range. You can find a total of 5 shooting ranges next to merchants throughout the game. They are in Chapter 3, Chapter 9, Chapter 11, Chapter 14, Chapter 15.

In This Video guide you can see how to do it, when the best time to change weapons or where are located pirate coins, some are tricky and well hidden.

This will likely take a fair few attempts, but if you persevere long enough, you’ll be able to learn the patterns for each shooting gallery. Be sure to target the skull medallions, too (there are ten to look out for during each challenge), to maximise your score (they’re worth 300 points a pop), while making sure not to hit any innocent sailors, as you’ll lose 500 points for each one caught in your crossfire.

The multi-weapon shooting ranges will require judicious use of each weapon, so use rifles for ranged shots, shotguns for clusters of targets, and the pistol for mid-range targets. Yellow pirates holding dynamite are useful, as well - shoot the dynamite and you’ll clear the board. Be wary of each challenge’s special requirements for bonus mode, too - in most instances, you’ll need to activate it to attain the score target for S rank. There are five opportunities to visit the shooting range throughout Resident Evil 4’s campaign.

You can check out our video below for the method to get an S-rank in each Shooting Range Challenge.
