How to unlock the Flying Ace achievement in RESIDENT EVIL 6 - Definitive Guide

Chris and Piers campaign level 4.4

Play as Chris, fly around the aircraft carrier letting Piers destroy all the AA's. Press RB when prompted to dodge incoming missiles. Destroying the helicopters is optional, I did not destroy any. Once the AA's are down protect Piers until he climbs the crane and jumps back into the VTOL. You will obtain your achievement when cutscene starts.

Just to clarify, you also get this if you're playing as Piers. I had a friend online pilot the VTOL as Chris while I was destroyng the AA guns as Piers. Once the cutscene started, we both got the achievement.

@Juju any achievements popped in coop pop for both players, solo you have to be Chris cos I didn’t pop this playing as Piers solo

No final do Capítulo 4 - Campanha de Chris, é necessário pilotar um VTOL. At the end of Chris’ Chapter 4 Campaign, you’ll be in a jet. You’ll need to finish this section of the game without the jet taking damage, which means dodging missiles and avoiding collisions. You can get this is either Chris or Piers.

As Chris: Press  when prompted to barrel roll and dodge incoming missiles. If you hold down  during the barrel roll, you can shoot down the missiles and keep them from circling around. Shoot down the helicopters as fast as you can and when Piers cleans up the guns on the ship, you’ll be done with the hardest part. 

As Piers: You only have to concentrate on shooting the anti-aircraft guns on the ship. Do this is fast as you can and the AI will do the rest. There is a little luck involved as you have to rely on the AI to dodge incoming missiles. There was a spot where I would always get hit by a missile, but many people have reported unlocking this achievement as Piers.

Finish the rest of the chapter without dying and it’ll unlock at the end. Also pay attention to the green outline in the bottom right of your screen. If you ever get hit, this flashes red and that’s your cue to immediately hit  and restart the checkpoint. Note that dying and hitting "Yes" to continue will NOT allow you to earn the achievement.

The very end of chapter 4 in the campaign for Chris, you need to:

1) Shoot down all the helicopters while Pierce is dealing with the anti-aircraft guns on the tanker without receiving a direct hit from missiles.

2) Protect Pierce while he is running around the tanker trying to cancel the rocket launch, in particular during the scene with El Gigante.

I’ll also add to simplify the task it’s better to go through Pierce!!! they just need to quickly shoot down the anti-aircraft guns! and so that the rocket NEVER hits you!! tactics: quickly shoot down all the anti-aircraft guns first!!! to protect ourselves from missiles! and only then the machine gun points!! If we get hits (noise on Pierce’s display), we’ll replay from the checkpoint! Well, Chris's computer will do the rest!

As s777wolves wrote, playing for Pierce is of course easier. But don’t relax when you shoot down all the anti-aircraft guns. On the tanker there will be a moment when Pierce will have to run along the crane to jump into Chris’s fighter. Run with the run button (x) pressed. If the giant reaches you. You will fall. And there will be no trophy. And you will have to replay the entire chapter. And do not slow down with planting explosives. The giant can trample you if you slow down a lot.

When playing as Chris, you don’t need to shoot down all the helicopters, the main thing is to fly and not take damage while Pierce is shooting down the anti-aircraft guns.

The essence of the achievement is only to ensure that your plane is never hit. Shooting down 3 helicopters while playing as Chris is just a bronze medal that you will have at the end of the chapter.

The achievement only appears when you complete the chapter completely.

I tried for Pierce and nothing worked, it would seem that the computer should masterfully control the plane and everything will be fine, but no, it catches every rocket that flies. So, all the same, I advise you to play as Chris, turn on the “Beginner” difficulty and go ahead, if the rocket hits, then do a restart. Just to be on the safe side, as soon as we boarded the plane and the save happened, we go out and make a copy of the saves, just in case, so as not to go through the chapter again.
