How to unlock the Leave It to the Pro achievement in Resident Evil 6 - Definitive Guide

So, I see a lot of people are unhappy that this is the same list as 360 and they don't want to endure this game again.

I personally love this game and aside from grinding skill points and grinding MP kills I have no issues doing this game again.

However, to those who just don't want to endure this game I feel it's important that I remind everyone that the title update on Xbox 360 that allowed us to Chapter Select Sub-Chapters and enabled us to exploit the new feature to earn story achievements quicker DOES INDEED STILL WORK on the One version.

You can load up 1-5 as Leon and beat it which will award you the achievement for finishing chapter 1. This will unlock chapter 2 and you can immediately go to chapter 2-7 and beat that for Chapter 2 credit and the achievement.

This also means you can load the Final Sub Chapter in each Chapter in EVERY CAMPAIGN on Professional and beat it to get credit for completing the game.

You'll still need collectibles and skill points but this will save time for anyone who doesn't want to bother with the campaign on Pro.

It won't make this game a super fast 1500G but it helps.

According to other users the game is only counting progression for host only in a co-op game.

Game wasn't intended to be played this way as it originally didn't have this so the game doesn't recognize sub-chapter selecting as an issue and I'm actually glad to see Capcom also didn't give a damn to fix it haha.

Pretty sure Capcom will never take the time to go back through and make the game check for sub-chapter completions. That would actually be shocking if they did.

It's worth a mention that in Jake's Campaign 2-3. That the QTE with the doors is a bloody nightmare. AI Sherry likes to stand there and die. Read online that moving both the sticks in a direction will help. (I personally go clockwise on the right stick and anti clockwise on the left) Sounds stupid but I gave it a try after she died for the 4th time in a row and it worked!

Does infinite ammo disable this? I checked all character's Chapter 5 progress using level select and it shows I did all of them on professional....

Nevermind....I am such an idiot, totally forgot I have to do the last level on ALL chapters, not just 5, lol!!! I just caught it from my own damn post helping someone on the 360 version over 3 years ago.......SMH!!

It still works in May 2021, but just to be clear: you must play and finish the last 5 sub-chapters of each character, that's 20 different levels on Professional. Some are simple and some are a real headache, so good luck

I had chapter select unlocked from the start I think. I just did the last level of each chapter only.

I did normal first for everyone (then I bought some infinite ammo and did pro)

I dunno if it would work on no mercy

Can confirm that it doesn't work whilst done in Coop.

Can confirm you can do some levels/chapters in No Mercy, it all counts.

Can also confirm you can mix and match characters. Do 4 levels as Leon and One as Helena is all good

Don't listen to everyone saying the exploit doesn't work in Co-op.

It DOES WORK for both players if set up correctly.
Make sure the host sets up the game, with the difficulty as professional. The other player should load the same chapter on professional difficulty in single player. Then have the host invite the other player while they are in the game. The second player should accept the invite while in the game (actually in the level, not just the menu) and after beating the chapter credit shall be awarded to both players.

This game is stupid easy even on Professional. I get not wanting to slog through the game if you just didnt like it but this is BY FAR the easiest Resident Evil game out there. Just upgrade Firepower and Defense both to level 3 first and youll never have an issue.

To follow up on what Baby Sheamus posted last year: Be sure that the 2nd player joining the host starts the relevant chapter on Professional first and hits a checkpoint prior to joining the host's session. Otherwise, the 2nd player might not receive credit for completing the chapter on Professional. Many thanks to Godshooter1 for helping me in testing this.

If you're doing say Leon and you have to do Helena as well?

By J ROLLER 1979 on 17 Apr 2023 14:35
No, you just need the last chapter from start to finish played as Leon, as originally you couldn't load specific checkpoints so when Capcom added the ability to sub-chapter select they never bothered to update the game to make sure the player passes each sub chapter. The achievement is only looking for the player to trigger the end of the chapter.

After doing the 360 version legit, this skip is a godsend. I would recommend farming Jake chapter 4-3 for infinite ammo if you want to breeze through it.
Bought inf magnum for Leon/Jake, granade launcher for Chris and crossbow for Ada for the explosive bolts. Took me no more than 30 mins for each character campaign, doing only the last section of each chapter.

Choose chapter select, whoever's campaign, and simply play the last section of each chapter on Professional difficulty. The game registers a chapter's entire completion based upon the final section's completion. Do this for every chapter of everyone's campaign and this achievement should be yours in a short amount of time. The difficulty stacks, so you will receive all the other difficulty related achievements upon unlocking this one.

Good luck and happy achievement hunting! rock

Professional difficulty is unlocked from the start. Difficulty achievements stack so you can complete the game on pro and unlock all the difficulty achievements below it. You can check and see the highest difficulty you’ve completed a chapter on from the Chapter Select or Records menu.

You can also change difficulty between chapters from the Chapter Select menu. Ie. If you’re playing on normal difficulty and partway through the game you’ve bought enough upgrades and feel like you can handle pro, you can go to chapter select, choose the next chapter and choose pro difficulty. Then after you've finished the game, you can go back and finish the previous chapters on pro difficulty.

Choose pro difficulty from the beginning to save time if you’re confident in your abilities. Otherwise, run through the game quickly on amateur difficulty to learn the ins and outs of the campaign, and also unlock infinite ammo which will make your professional playthrough much easier.

On professional difficulty, QTEs have shorter timers, you take more damage, and enemies have more health. Look for breakable objects to collect ammo and healing items. Buying skills with the skill points you save will be very beneficial. You can have up to 3 skills equipped at one time, but after completing 1 campaign, you can have up to 8 different load outs. You can change loadouts from the  menu during the game and switch to whatever the situation calls for.

Some of the more useful skills I found are:

Firearm - Increases damage done with guns (up to 50%). This will help you kill enemies faster, and save precious ammo.

Defense - Decreases damage done to you (up to 50%). This will help you survive longer, and allow you to save your health tablets for when you have bigger fish to fry.

Field Medic - This is an incredibly useful skill if you're playing solo. Whenever you run out of health and your partner rescues you, they'll also heal a few squares of your health. Normally after being rescued, you stay in a near death state until you recover a square of health. With Field Medic, you always recover with a few squares of health, without having to use your own tablets. You'll almost never die since no matter how many times you lose all your health and get downed, your partner will heal you over and over.

Infinite Ammo (Unlocked after completing all campaigns) - This is an obvious choice. Not having to worry about your ammo supply is a huge advantage. Combined with Firearm Lv. 3, Professional difficulty becomes a walk in the park. Cost for each type of infinite ammo ranges from 79k-99k. Since you might not have an abundant supply of skill points after just one playthrough, your first choice should be something that's used by almost every character, such as assault rifle, shotgun, or pistols.

Breakout - Useful for if you're having trouble with QTEs.

Upgrade the “field doctor” perk.
Also, only go through the last sub-chapters, the trophy will be counted.

Xapoko, that's wrong. You need to go through all the last sub-chapters, all the chapters on Pro and the trophy is yours. Checked personally.

I’ll add that if you play online with a friend, then the friend must start the game alone on pro difficulty, and then create a game online on 2 of them - otherwise, only the host will receive the trophy for the pro.

The previous hint is not entirely correct, because... I checked it personally and was one hundred percent convinced: if you go through the Prof mode Only the last sections of each chapter - trophies for completing Prof and Veteran will drop!!!

Everything is written there correctly - you need to go through the last subchapter in each chapter. They will give you a trophy. There is no need to go through the prologue.

Compared to RE5, Pro does not cause any problems here. Even with a bot. Armor level 3 + Weapon damage level 3. + to choose from (or endless magnum, shot, sniper or QTE for a helicopter or shark, etc.) Damage and damage will be at the Normal difficulty level.
The trophy is not given for the last chapters alone in this version; I had to complete all the chapters (I completed everything solo).

If you start any stage on professional, and then join the game of a friend who plays on easy or normal difficulty levels, you will be credited with professional difficulty after completing the chapters.

In one of the chapters in Jake and Sherry's campaign, you will have a real test on the "Pro" difficulty - an episode where there are 4 doors in front of you, and Ustanak is chasing you.
The difficulty is that by turning one stick clockwise or counterclockwise, you will never have time to open all 4 doors. As a rule, your partner dies 1-2 seconds before the cutscene and you start over from the checkpoint.

Surprisingly, the technique helped me: from door to door, use fast running, holding down . We approached the door - started to turn it - press it with your palm And and twist to one side as quickly as possible.
This method is definitely relevant on PS4 if you play solo.

Option 2: Play in co-op, keeping your partner’s reaction time to a minimum, i.e. the bot needs more time to “realize” that the door is open. Thus, valuable time is lost.

I don't know why everyone is silent in the tips. This is the only point where the Pro difficulty can cause pain.

Here you need to be patient, the enemies are very crippling and more tenacious, save ammo, if possible, resort to hand-to-hand killing, it’s difficult to use cover from zombie shooters (the lack of thought of the developers), so when you go around the nearest corner, you can carefully take headshots or shoot out places very vulnerable. Also, run from place to place more often, otherwise you will fall under the distribution of the crowd and do not spare your partner, (if it is not a cooperative) they are immortal, you can hide behind them as a shield, I put it forward all the time under the distribution. It is also useful after 1 hit, running up and making a melee attack, the enemy often turns away or deflects, thereby opening up vulnerable spots. Well, and also, if possible, try to combine only red grass with green, this is +6 tablets, otherwise use grass irrational

In fact, completing the game on a professional is very simple. Personally, it was easier for me than on a regular one. I recommend playing with an AI partner because he is immortal, etc. I also recommend taking the field doctor ability and then the game can be completed almost without using drugs. Campaign for Ada itself is the simplest for. In Leon’s campaign, take Helena, in Chris’s campaign....any one, she is the simplest, in Jeik’s campaign, take Jeik. And most importantly, do not put off the passage for a long time, but start going through it immediately after the regular or veteran, after all, The devil is as scary as he is painted.

In order for a chapter to be counted as completed as a “pro”, it is enough to complete only its last episode.

I wouldn’t call it a professional, it’s much easier than in part 5. If you want a professional, then go straight to this difficulty, then the difficulty will still be felt somehow. Well, if you don’t want particularly difficult tasks, then go through the game on normal or easy difficulty, then you will be able to buy endless ammo for a certain type of weapon.

To begin with, of course, I advise the shotgun, it is universal and the damage it does is not bad, and its main advantage is that all companies have it, so you definitely won’t be lost with it

Leon:

Undoubtedly, Deagle with this weapon will kill everyone and everything, there are mostly classic zombies here, so keep your distance and there will be no problems, but still, if this problem grabs you, then these comrades bite painfully.

Chris:

The grenade launcher with freezing is just great, you really feel like a Gargona jellyfish (albeit an icy one) Many opponents don’t even have time to fire a shot as they are already frozen and from that moment on their life will not be very long.

Jake:

Magnum of course

Ada:

Here I used a bear machine gun with an underbarrel grenade launcher and a shotgun. I would not recommend a crossbow because... The cartridges are expensive, but in battle it is not particularly effective, as it seemed to me, reloading after each shot is not very convenient. Of course, in an under-barrel grenade launcher as well, but even if you did not kill the enemy, but only wounded him and he is lying down, then you have time to reload and finish off the enemy. I also had endless ammo and increased damage to the shotgun, so against strong opponents (dolls and bosses) this is a great thing. No sooner had the battle begun than it was already over.

Skills:

Now it remains to tell you a little about the skills that can make your life easier as a professional (although it won’t be very difficult anyway).

Firearm Enhancement

Protection - On the pros, a great thing is that the damage is done a little more than on normal difficulty

Quick release - makes QTE easier, with this skill you won't have to worry about quick times at all. I highly recommend it.

Field doctor - this skill is useful when you play with the computer and when you are dying, he will revive you and give you 3 tablets. This way you will hardly need treatment.

Endless ammo

Master (weapon type) - enhances the firepower of a weapon. I used it for magnums and didn’t notice any particular increase in stopping power, but on shotguns it was very noticeable.

after the latest patch, obtaining this trophy has become much easier, now each of the 5 chapters for each character is divided into stages, just select and go through the last stage of each chapter and the mission will be considered completed. With endless cartridges for a machine gun, this is generally a matter of one hour. Of course, you won't see S rank, but that's another story.

If you go through the game right away on the pro difficulty, then at the end you will immediately get 4 trophies for all difficulties.

In the skill settings we set:

1. firearms level 3

2. defense level 3

3. favorite weapon with endless ammo

pp. 1 and 2 will make the damage received and inflicted similar to the same at the normal difficulty level. And point 3, in turn, will allow you to play more calmly.

It's not at all difficult to beat the game like a pro! To do this, you don’t need to buy endless ammo (it’s better to save skill points for the “Incredible Skill” trophy). Everything is quite easy to go through anyway, especially when it became possible to select episodes in chapters.

I would like to add that there is no need to start a new game on an easier level, and then go through the last chapters on a pro level. All you need to do is immediately (if you want some kind of speedrun for the trophy, of course) go to the Chapter Selection tab and select the last points in the campaign of any character (You still have to go through everything)

I want to add to the addition from Tim, don’t waste skill points and buy endless cartridges for Ada’s crossbow! I advise you to buy infinite grenade launchers, they will be from Chris and Pierce, and since Ada has a Bear machine gun, it has an under-barrel grenade launcher, it is also infinite!!!! Well, in my opinion, it’s not worth spending money on a shotgun!!! Well, I advise you to buy endless Magnums from other companies!!! and Jake’s company also has a Bear machine gun!

The method for obtaining this trophy that Tim suggested has already been fixed and there remains a very unpleasant bug: if you play together, the second player (not the host) simply does not count for the passage. To avoid this, the player who will connect via invite must first enter a single game on professional difficulty (any chapter, the main thing is that the save is completed), after autosaving, you can exit and connect to a friend’s game via invite.

By Romanoff40 on 12 Jan 2013 14:54
There is a very sure way until it is fixed. Designed for 2 players

You are creating a game like a pro

Before this, your partner loads any mission and sets it to beginner mode, saves and exits

throw an invite and your friend will connect to your game

It turns out that you are playing like a pro with a partner, but your partner is playing in VERY EASY mode

and he easily deals with all the monsters, especially since he receives little damage from the monsters!

The passage time was reduced by 15-30 minutes on average!

rank S in most missions

For simplicity, we buy endless ammo

To begin with, I recommend the Shotgun, it is universal!

for Leon/Helena: Magnum

for Chris / Pierce: The grenade launcher with ice is just a fairy tale!

for Jake/Sherry: Magnum

for Ada: Crossbow
