This is just a warning so you don't waste time wondering why your tracker isn't going up.........
Your pistol DOES NOT count towards this achievement..........I was killing with head-shots with the pistol almost the whole game without the tracker going up at all until I got the sniper rifle in the Promenade Deck in Chapter 3.......used the rifle and finally the tracker started going up....

The achievement popped for me while I was using a shotgun, so perhaps the game is just really particular about what is constituted as a headshot. Or the counter is glitched.

The counter only goes up when it is just head shots. So you can't body out a target, then headshot them. The rifle does work best for this achievement tho. PSG-1 was my favorite when going for this.

First of all the Oozes are the ones with the werids heads. Some throw things at you, the other ones just melee attack you. Shoot ten of these in the head, I did this on chapter 3 of episode 3. I was Lucky enough to find the sniper rifle. Wait utill the boss fight, then use the sniper or shotgun on them aim only at their heads.They should be plenty. If you run out of ammo or die, just repeat until the achievement pops. I hope this helps.

This achievement is a bit misleading. You might find yourself getting head shots on Oozes with a handgun or a machine gun with no luck.
You must do these 10 head shots with a rifle. This may be easier in New Game+ since you can access the rifle at an earlier time. There are also less enemy mobs and easier Ooze targets to kill at this time.
