How to unlock the Universe's Best Dad achievement in Resident Evil Village - Definitive Guide

This is my first guide on here so i apologize on how messy it is. i'll try to fix it.

with the right preparation its a lot more doable then people think, whether you use infinite ammo or not (i recommend it though)

firstly run the game a few times to get fluent with the map, enemy positions and just generally on how to deal with certain enemies. and save up on herbs and chemicals.

secondly, make sure to do it on new game+. all your weapons and gear will carry over from the start. highly recommend you max out the S.T.A.K.E magnum and get infinite ammo for it, it has the largest clip out of the magnums (28) and deals enough damage to 1 shot base enemies and 3-4 shot the harder enemies like the heavy soldats later in the game.

also make sure you complete every recipe beforehand as you'll need the health and speed boost. (even the guarding boost becomes really useful during the Heisenberg boss fight).

As for the difficulty level itself, its not to bad. its adds some more enemy spawns in here or there (you can still 1 shot most of them with the magnum) and gives the boss's a couple more moves to use against you. saving where you can and ignoring unnecessary fights and areas (eg. the treasure boss's) will make this a lot easier and quicker for you. all the steps in the game are still the exact same, enemies just have more health and will 2-3 shot you (with health upgrades).

Castle:
only real difference is increased spawns of the vampires (Moroaica) and the underground section where dimitrescu cuts off your hand, some vampires also spawn in. just run this section the same as you usually would. the daughters still go down easy.

Dimitrescu:
very straight forward fight, just move around the ring putting rounds into her avoiding her charges. she'll have a new move which is an insect cloud like her daughters.

Beneviento house:
no enemies spawn here and is no different at all, so no increased difficulty.
you don't have to bother inspecting the entire Mia doll, just grab the key from the shoulder and the music winder from the knee. no need to get the ring or wash it, just unlock the door and turn around and put in the door code (052911). the 2 picture discs are the crow facing right and the 3 eyes closed.
As for the film order:

Bear
Book
Rose
Music Box
Ring

Moreau section:
As no enemies spawn here after you meet chris for the first time so its the exact same with no added difficulty. Moreau will tank a lot more shots in the boss fight buts its very manageable. just avoid his acid rain by taking cover.

Stronghold:
this is where it starts to get harder as a more enemies come at once to overwhelm you and the lycans dodge a lot more now. base lycans are still one shot (with maxed STALK magnum). shoot what's in front of you and just run through this section until you reach Urias. the 28 mag on the magnum helps a lot with dealing with large amounts of enemies here. overall not really to much difference here, some more armored lycans spawn in but that's about it. flashbangs can help manage large groups.

Factory:
the Factory is probably the most changed area on this difficulty. a lot more heavy armored soldats spawn in from the start. the magnum will tear their armor off quickly, its then a matter off landing your shots and dodging their charges. Sturm (Fan head) will move a lot more and will leave his back exposed a lot shorter now.

Heisenberg boss fight:
now this was the biggest bitch of the entire game. keep moving and stay behind cover while constantly using your machine gun to destroy his weak parts (orange glowing areas). use your rocket to to push him back and create space when he charges you. he's more aggressive and will charge you more now, he also will now create a giant arm which has a lot more reach if you don't interrupt him. if he gets close and you don't have your rocket ready remember to keep moving to the side and to guard (get your recipes for the guard boost).

overall this boss fight is frustrating and it'll take a solid 5-6 minutes to wear him down. good luck.

Chris's section:
the health boosts are very helpful here. now that lycans dodge a lot more and take a lot more shots you want to keep your distance and move steadily forward clearing each section. make sure you pick up all the ammo and medicine you get at each green flare (3 total). when you get to the wheat field it will spawn in 2 big lycans (varcaloc), you can run straight past them. once you get over the little ledge they will stop following you.

fight your way up the laneway using grenades to clear the larger batches where necessary (leave some for later) until you reach the Megacylte barrier. after you tag it once with the laser you'll have to do so 2 more times. going through the gate to the left (ammo is also there) helps manage the lycans coming until the laser is useable again. after the 2nd laser, heavy lycans will spawn in so use your grenades when they jump down to thin them out and go back into the gate area to hold them off (going up to the roof helps). using flashbangs to create time and space helps a lot.

After you blow the wall you'll drop into another Urias fight. hopefully you have 2 medicine for this. he'll start on the ledge and jump down with a swing. dodge this by moving to the side right as he leaps. moving too early will result in him still hitting you. he'll swing a lot more at you so make sure to dodge. running forward into him when he starts to swing can help go through his animation safely. after hitting him with 4 lasers and spraying him in the back whenever you get the chance should finish him.

Miranda:
before entering this bossfight stock up on any medicine you can from the duke. this fight is largely learning her attack patterns. most of which can be dodged by simply moving to the side.

she might shoot 2 rows of megacylte at you, move to the right and then move to the left to dodge both,
if she enters her spider form it can be hard to keep track of her, dish out damage with the magnum to force her into her bird from.
in her bird form she'll quickly swoop you, can be dodged by moving to the side.
she'll also charge 3 fireballs while in the air, shooting each ball will avoid this.

after enough damage everything will turn black. move closer to the edge of the ring so she spawns in front of you. she'll simply charge you which is easily dodged by once again moving to the sides. after 3 charges and putting round into her when she miss will go back to normal.

after the dark phase, if you see the megacylte rise out of the ground (2 columns) get behind one immediately. Miranda will be in the middle and will rain fire down. if you don't get behind in time you'll take constant damage and won't be able top heal yourself and DIE. get behind the column.

once it cuts to her grabbing your leg thats the end of the the hard stuff, just keeping putting bullets in her head when she picks you up and you've finally finished the village of shadows difficulty. congratulations.

overall using infinite ammo it took me 2:30 hours to complete it. its just a matter of knowing the map.

Also infinite Chris' assault rifle can destroy enemies on this difficulty.

selling the weapons you don't need like the sniper or pistol can help a lot with the cash needed to upgrade the stake

This is probably known to veteran R.E. players, but in Village, if you do not have infinite ammo, always upgrade weapon clips AFTER you have used up an ammo clip (do not reload), because an upgrade will fill the clip all up. This way you can earn quite some ammos in the long run.

Oh and, all those health-boost recipes can give Ethan back his health entirely, so it is possible to make use of this setting to avoid using health recovery items.

I'm about to give up on Heisenberg. It seems like he has an infinite amount of orange weak points. I inevitably get hit and die because my cannon is reloading or I can't destroy a weak point before he gets a hit in.

Mr. Transformers is the hardest boss on this difficulty. You need to keep your distance from him all the time.. you can kinda hide behind the iron stuff he throws after the related attack which you can interrupt.

When you get to the portion as Chris, don't be afraid to take a page from CoD and switch to your pistol rather than spend the time reloading the AR. A few extra shots can take out that pesky Lycan.

Good guide. 100% agree that Heisenberg was the biggest bitch of the play-through.

For those struggling on Chris' section - there is a ladder on the house to the left of the big open area where you have to use the laser 3 times, through the gate. This is the same house you get part of the key from earlier in the story. When you're on the ladder almost to the top, enemies can't hurt you. Rotate between going on the roof and climbing the ladder until the laser recovers. All current enemies die after each laser use. EZ

I just unlocked this achievement and I feel so thrilled.
Those last few fights were heckin hard.

I ended up playing through twice on easy, which let me upgrade the first magnum and get its unlimited ammo.
Then I played through on village of shadows.
So its definitely possible with just the first magnum.

Good luck fellows!

The hardest part here is Heisenberg - however with a little practice it’s doable. Follow my tips below:

Phase 1
- The first few seconds are crucial - blast him immediately and take out a weak spot to keep your 3 health points. Restart if you fail.
- Only use the rocket to stop him charging.
- Hit the lower weak point first, before arms.
- Hide behind barricades where possible.
- Blocking is useless.
- When debris gathers towards him, go close to him and fire at the weak spot.
- When debris whirls around him (only happens once or twice per battle), rocket him.

Phase 2
- Much easier, just blast his head/belly area with a magnum.

No, It's useless on the Heisenberg fight. I've literally been stuck on this part for 2 days and have died around 100 times here alone. It's like a slot machine that never pays out.

What are you talking about? You fight him in a vehicle with a rocket launcher. No health and can only take 4 hits.

Also, this achievement is fucking glitched. I beat it last night and it never popped. I have a finished save file for village of shadows difficulty but no achievement. Fuck this game, I'm not doing it again.

I struggled with Heisenberg for about 2 and a half hours, asking on several forums for help. I think the main strategy for that fight is to use those pieces of metal in the fight as best you can and try not to destroy any of them if you can. He won't charge you as often if there are pieces of metal in the way and this buys you precious time to recharge your cannon. This took me like 50 or 60 tries though. Good luck to everyone else.

Heisenberg's left hand chainsaw (your right side) can be completely avoided by driving to the left without shooting or blocking as they slow you down, this only leaves his right side dangerous which can be stopped with the cannon, after realising this I beat him on the following attempt and only got hit once.

Minor Note for this Achievement. If you buy Infinite Ammo during your Run for either the Dragoon or the USM-AI [as of me Posting this] Chris will have the Perks as well, making his Section just a little Easier.

Heisenberg fight - At the beginning of the fight, Heisenberg will come straight at you with either his right or left arm raised ready to hit you. The one you want is his left arm (your right) raised then you can go under his right arm (your left) which will put you behind him and give you more space to move around. If he doesn’t have the correct arm raised then simply restart the fight until he does (you may need to get hit for this to work). Hope this helps.

Does anyone know if you can switch difficulty after starting? I've completed easy and normal, I'm curious if I start Village of Shadows and reach a roadblock, if I can drop to hardcore and at least get it.

I’m confused on how to start my VoS run with all of my gear from my past cleared save files. I started up my VoS run last night, got to the Village and only had the base pistol with infinite ammo in my inventory when I encountered the first enemies. The walkthrough on here mentions you can use the grenade launcher right away? I made sure to buy all attachments and upgrades on other save slots as the guide says, but I still don’t know what I’m doing wrong to begin my game with those weapons.

Did you not load your completed save with all your weapons? You have to load your old completed save to start New Game Plus. It's worked that way since the original RE4 I believe.

Did...did they severely nerf the Heisenberg boss fight in Village Shadows difficulty? I just beat him easily on my first try, he hit me twice, both times I guarded and I still had medium health at the end.

I was dreading this fight the whole time because of the guide/walkthrough/comments. I'm not even trying to brag or anything, I'm just confused, he must have been made easier right? Maybe when the Winters' Expansion was released?

If it helps anyone, the cost to apply infinite ammo for the S.T.A.K.E magnum is 120,000 CP in the Extra Content Shop.

Prepare your digital wallets, though, as it will need some serious Lei to upgrade in order to apply infinite ammo.

Ammo Capacity

Level 1 (18)
Level 2 (20): 40,000 Lei
Level 3 (22): 55,000 Lei
Level 4 (24): 68,000 Lei

I'd like to add that the Stake is the best weapon in the game and village of shadows is a total breeze with this weapon and the unlimited ammo
Also if you're struggling unlocking unlimited ammo for any gun remember you just have to fully upgrade it and add the attachments, so load up your newest safe sell everything but the weapon you wish to unlock infinite ammo on and upgrade until its done then just quite out and its still classed as fully upgrading it for the infinite ammo

That Heisenberg fight took me around 2 hours and my successful run got real lucky: I failed to interrupt his debris-exploding move TWICE but they both did not hit me. The debris allowed me to hide while stopping his charge-attack.

And my exp. (from others online) is that when you feel you are safe, and when one of Heisenberg's weak spot is about to explode, go shoot the other weak spots. This way, when he is about to charge and the cannon is yet reloaded, that one close-to-death weak spot can help save you from getting hit.

A few tips for Heisenberg, first you need to get lucky!

You can only take three hits, first makes screen have blood splatter, then red, then dead. So really only 2 hits cos the third kills you. I noticed some comments said four hits, the amount of tries I’ve made I decided to just sit there and count how many hits till I die laugh

D4rkTrooper90’s tip of his left hand (your right) is an excellent way to not take the 1/3 hits to start the fight, just start moving to your left and when he gets close enough move towards him and left and you’ll be behind him. Don’t shoot as it slows you down and you get hit and it does next to nothing to him.

Once behind him he will go for a hit, so blast him with a rocket and take out the two weak spots on his left (your right), you’ll need to use another rocket to get distance on him before taking out his right (your left)

Now if you’re lucky he’ll start gathering things where they all come towards him and cover him, you want to stop this by shooting him first, a rocket straight away does nothing, you need to weaken him (I think?) before all the potential cover gets close to him. You can sneak a rocket on him just before he is out of view, all the debris will go flying and you’ll have about 3 or 4 cover to hide behind, and these can take the hit for you, so keep going cover to cover, taking out the weak spots. If you hit a rocket on him after he’s fully covered, all the cover will be destroyed.

The luck kicks in here, after you take out two weak spots if he goes back to his pulling things in, then you’ll get cover again by interrupting him, of course you’ll get it if you don’t but you can get hit, so it’s better to stop the big metal dick head

If he stays still at any point, he’s charging for what seems to be an insta kill(?) you need to rocket him to interrupt this attack or you’re not going to have a sexy time. Do not think he’s giving you free shots at him cos this Walter White wannabe isn’t that nice he is the biggest asshole to date in this franchise personally for me, makes the Jill fight in RE5 look like a piece of cake

As many have said, this fight is more about luck on which attack you get than skill, cos over half the shit he does you can’t counter unless you have infinite rocket ammo which doesn’t exist in this game, so hope you all get lucky cos you’ll need it!!!

The Spooky Village difficulty level will be unlocked after completing the game for the first time, along with the Mercenaries mode.
Easily done with endless ammo enabled. Since the preservation of the conditions is general, you can pump up all the weapons and reload the safe, but the condition in the bonuses mode will remain.
I calmly completed the game with a WCX machine gun and a revolver.

The first time we pass on normal for our own pleasure. The second time is a speedrun in 2 hours according to the video guide, the third time with a powerful knife is also in two hours, and for the fourth time we take a revolver, pump it up as much as possible (you will have enough lei for this) and go ahead) I’m still that kind of player, but There were only two difficulties during the entire passage. 1) Heisenberg...It’s clear that you need to shoot at the red dots, but on a gamepad this is another thing) Move backwards shooting at the red dots with a machine gun, and use the cannon only before he strikes in order to throw him back and stun him. My mistake was that I used the gun immediately after reloading. The second moment was with the final boss... But it turned out to be quite simple) We pump up the maximum block and health from the Duke for food... And now you don’t need to run from her attacks, just put a block and after she attacks, hit her with a revolver, I can say I stood in one place all the time) when the light goes out, it just runs in a circle without stopping, then everything is the same... it takes from 2 to 4 first aid kits for a boss with such tactics.

For this difficulty, be sure to download the STAKE revolver, plus endless ammo. And also a Chris machine. Otherwise it will be difficult.

The most comfortable way to complete the game on this difficulty is a fully upgraded Fighter revolver with endless ammunition. In fact, nothing else is needed besides it. Plus, it is advisable to fully upgrade your character from the Duke (through the Duke’s kitchen). The most difficult places: 1) survive the werewolf attack at the beginning of the game; 2) boss Heisenberg; 3) everything after Heisenberg (although he killed Miranda without any problems).

Only Heisenberg added problems to the creepy village.
After about 15 runs on it in Settings / Camera I set:
Aim speed 5
Camera acceleration when aiming Strong.
Camera Shake Off
After which I passed on the first try.

How to defeat Heisenberg. At the very beginning, we immediately shoot at him from a cannon, not letting him get closer, so that he flies as far away from you as possible. Then, on the ball, driving back, we destroy the lower red marker at its base before it has time to approach you with an attack in order to save the block (L1). In my opinion, there are only three of them for the entire battle. If the boss's position is uncomfortable and you didn't have time, then reboot in the menu. Next, when he is nearby, move more to the right to the tower, shooting his right hand (relative to the viewer), as if going around him, so that he stays dumb longer while turning. Next, just accumulate a cannon, throw it as far as possible, the main thing is not into the wall and shoot the markers. When the boss begins to attract metal panels to himself, drive as close to the hole as possible and shoot the head, then in the future you will have shelter from the panels. If you don’t have time, he will hit you with flying panels; if you shoot at him at the moment of the attack, then all the panels will collapse and there will be no cover - this makes further tactics a little more difficult. Next, hide behind covers (you can cross and lengthwise, the main thing is that there is interference between the boss and you). Because of one cover on the joystick, you can shoot up to three or four markers on the boss’s body. Try to maintain cover, fighting off the boss with a cannon if he attacks him, and don’t shoot the cover yourself. Next, repeat the strategy until the boss enters the second phase. If something goes wrong, feel free to reboot and save time. I advise you to watch a video on the passage of the boss in order to know all its phases so as not to dull it out of ignorance. In the second phase, we run back, take a fully pumped and maximally charged “Fighter” revolver and hit the boss in the head, hiding behind cover. It won't last long. Everything else is simple if you know. Regarding shooting at markers, I advise you to first shoot the marker at the base, depending on the position, then the lowered hand (it is less mobile) and lastly the raised hand. I’m not at all sure whether it’s necessary to destroy all the markers, or whether the main thing is to knock out a certain number. You can probably not touch the raised hand at all. At the end of the battle, a heart rate of 150 beats is guaranteed. I estimate the duration of the battle to be about five minutes. Yes, by the way, play around with the settings, set the aiming and camera speed to 5, remove jerks and effects. You can also take a piece of self-adhesive tape and stick it on the center of the screen so that it is convenient to aim at the moment when the rear sight disappears due to lighting effects. As far as I remember, with this strategy the boss didn’t even push me into the red state.

As an alternative to the STAKE revolver, you can save up for the endless Fighter revolver (which is white). Upgrading it requires less lei and bonus points when purchasing the endless option. I actually started going through this difficulty with an endless grenade launcher, and by the time I got to the factory I already got hold of this revolver and it became much easier

The most difficult moment for me on this difficulty was the fight with Heisenberg.
It took about two hours of attempts and wasted nerves until I realized that it was possible to dodge his attacks. For example, he comes at you with his left claw raised, we dodge by driving around him on the left. After that I passed it the second time. We use the cannon only if we need to throw him away from us, the block does not help in any way.

For some reason, everyone describes the tactics as Ethan, where with endless ammo there are no problems at all, even without tactics, but playing as Chris really hinders getting to Uryash and himself. It's just a hint

It is recommended to play on the third playthrough, having with you an unlimited grenade launcher with flash-bang shells and a fully upgraded revolver, which is given after the first playthrough, also accumulate the maximum ingredients for creating healers + the healers themselves, accumulate the maximum, and the main thing is to accumulate maximum patience, so there will be a total of five in the game difficult moments, firstly, get away from the demetrescu during the time when Ethan’s hand was cut off, it’s not enough to run from it, but on the way you will meet several small enemies + you won’t be able to use the first aid kit, the second moment will be difficult with Carlson (that’s what I call him) it’s easy to kill him blindly him (which is strange since he has no eyes) the third difficult moment with the first form of Heisenberg you will have to work hard with him since he kills with three hits, try to circle during the fight with him and shoot in his hands so that he does not make a super attack (second form can be shot freely with a super revolver) and the fourth most difficult moment with Chris, here it is recommended to upgrade the fucking stone slayer’s machine gun (Chris) to unlimited since there will be a lot of shooting, in the battle with werewolves use flash-bang grenades and shoot at them and do not use first aid kits, then it will be more difficult since simple enemies have become much stronger and more accurate, archers have begun to hit more accurately, try to come to the moment where you need to direct the missiles with a pointer so that you have at least 2-3 healers left (there are two places where you can collect them) and most importantly, aim precisely into the building (since only two hits are enough) the last enemy is difficult but you can kill him with the right tactics, you should have 3 flash grenades left and as soon as your partner is ready to shoot, blind the enemy and aim at him and don’t forget to shoot at his back like as hard as possible after 3-4 falls the enemy will be defeated, in general I’m shocked that Chris (the stone fighter) didn’t take a shotgun and a sniper on the mission because without them this moment is already more difficult on normal, Miranda can be easily killed with a revolver (if you are precise and at the right time being treated)

In general, everything here is simpler than it seems. We go through the game once for our own pleasure, the second time I completed it in 3 hours on a knife (on Chris’s reinforced knife, which opens after the first playthrough), spending less than 10,000 Lei, did not craft anything and did not move things in the bag. After this, you will have 200K+ in-game money for which in the bonus menu I bought endless ammo for the SYG-12 (shotgun) and grenade launcher. To buy an endless supply of a shotgun, it must be fully upgraded in the game and must have all the upgrades. After this, the Spooky Village difficulty on the 3rd playthrough is an easy walk.

If during the first playthrough you do not spend money on unnecessary items other than inventory, and thoroughly study all the locations, then by the end you can get ~1.8 million lei, but if you do the second playthrough with a speedrun and a knife, then by the end you should already have 2.1 million lei lei, this will be enough for you to buy the most powerful revolver so that you can buy endless ammunition for it, which will greatly simplify the passage through the creepy village, in addition, it is better to buy endless ammunition for a grenade launcher in order to suppress the furs of monsters in the factory.

With Heisenberg, shoot with a machine gun, and when he approaches with a cannon, the main thing is to shoot exactly at the red dots with the machine gun (it’s not difficult, it took a couple of attempts). Before Miranda, we buy all the first aid kits from the merchant, I had 8 of them and calmly shoot with a revolver (it was easy to pass the first time) To pass, you need to pump up a revolver, a grenade launcher and a Criss machine gun

I had a tactic that made it seem like a cakewalk until the boss fight after the factory. I had to push myself a little from there until the end of the game, but I still can’t say that it was too difficult.

So, I started the fourth playthrough on maximum difficulty (that’s how it happened). I pumped up the “fighter” revolver to the maximum, installed all the modules (there are 2 of them), and unlocked endless ammunition on it. Also, I unlocked endless ammunition on the grenade launcher (high-explosive, flash-noise shells, I don’t remember the name). I usually run with a revolver, but often you will be pinned down and you won’t always be able to aim in time, or you will be caught by surprise while reloading, and that’s when flash-noise shells will come in handy. When there are a lot of enemies or one of them starts to pinch you, first we stun you with a flash-noise shot and while the enemy comes to his senses, we quickly shoot down with a revolver, you can kill 3-4 ordinary enemies at a time. I would partially call this legalized pure) It works on absolutely all types of enemies, except bosses, sort of. Although, maybe on them too, I checked only on the most recent one, it definitely doesn’t work on it. What you need is flash-noise charges; high-explosive charges are almost useless at maximum difficulty. Good luck getting the trophy

It turns into an easy walk if on your first playthrough you have a Moro revolver, pumped to the max and endless ammo for it (If you don’t have enough OP, check all the tests on the list, there are probably still unfinished ones like opening so many locks with a master key, killing so many animals, craft a bunch of items. This is all done by reloading the checkpoint. Found the chickens, killed them, rebooted, cleared them again)
It was even possible to take down the big guy at the very beginning.
Heisenberg is done in an elementary way: while on the car, shoot down vulnerable points with a machine gun, when there is a danger that he will hit you, shoot from a cannon, repeat))
When he is thrown out of the car, shoot him in the front part of the body, approximately at the height of our character, he will not even have time to do anything.
Miranda is a little more difficult, but almost all of her attacks can be dodged.

The easiest way to go is on NG+ with endless ammo for the revolver and grenade launcher. They can be obtained by pumping your weapon to the maximum during the first or subsequent playthroughs and then purchasing a bonus in the bonus store. It is advisable to prepare all the dishes at the Duke's. The mode is like hardcore + enemies have also been added to places where they were not there before.
