Bikes are for sale for in-game coins. Having a new bike does make the game easier mostly through durability and handling speed. Buying all the bikes as soon as you can will slow your progress towards the Moneybags achievement. I only bought one bike prior to collective 50,000 coins, specifically the 12,000 coin bike and it was very helpful for completing challenges. For more tips on making money check out this solution:
