How to unlock the Get busy living or get busy dying achievement in Return to Grace - Definitive Guide

Missable

I recommend making a copy of your save into a new slot so you can come back to this later, or you'll miss some of the exploration.

When climbing up the apartment levels, Pal will tell you about a possible shortcut across a beam. This is NOT the first beam, which you are required to cross to progress.

Take the shortcut and unlock the achievement!

For the beam crossing, note that the walking are balancing parts are scripted at specific points. You don't have to worry about balance when walking, and you can't walk forward whilst balancing.

Note that if you DO drop to the main menu to copy your save before attempting this, the save point will be just after locating Everett's apartment on the map, so you'll have a little bit to replay through.

It's harder to cross the beam then I thought can never maintain the balance long enough to walk over it so annoying

On the second beam, I fell, climbed back up to the starting point, crossed again and the achievement popped.

I just got this to pop. I restarted from the save a couple times, thought maybe I'd check here to see if anyone had some tips and thanks to TouchingVermin pointing out that you can climb up to the start that helped me. The part to climb is pretty well hidden in the shadows so I never noticed it before. I fell a couple times, just as the game basically forces you to on the first beam, but got it after successfully crossing.

I fell twice while doing this, succeeded in the third attempt and it still popped. It seems that reloading isn't necessary. You just have to climb the trellis behind you when you fall to get back to the start of the beam.

Hi,
My advice is to get ready to push Left Joystick to the right just enough until your body is turned a bit on the beam.

Everytime I fell it was to the left of the beam & the character reacts too slow if you aren't pushing right on the Lt Joystick.

Yes I fell off 3 times But was always to the left - get ready to push right (not too much just enough - there are 3 balance bits).

And yes it's way too far back to reload - easier to get up & climb up the trellis behind you - also it gives you incentive t make it - load means you aren't ready to try again right away.

In chapter 3 Apartment section you will come across your second beam to cross.

If you are collecting wish containers in this playthrough then don't use it now and save this achievement for your 'Follow Control' Playthrough.
This will save time then, cause you are not collecting wish container in that playthough anyway, because Control doesn't want you to linger after finding who Everett is.

you can however copy your save to new slot and get this achievement on that new save. But it just seems extra steps when this beam will save your time in 'Control playthrough'.

2nd Playthrough start at Timestamp : 02:35:10 - 2nd Playthrough [Control]
