From when you first make contact with the AI known as Control all the way through to the end of the game, you must follow his instructions immediately and without delay.
In the room with the turbine, do as he says and go straight to the machines at the back without delay. Turn on the generators. Get straight into the small nearby elevator and release the clamps on the turbines, then go back up in the elevator, go straight to the crane and replace the turbine. Then go immediately back up the ladder and return to the main area elevator.
In the next chapter, after finding out who Everett is, go straight to the elevator. Do not explore other rooms.
When you get the choice towards the end of Chapter 4, stick with Control by throwing your device out if the window (after examining the airlock).
In
keep clicking on the Beacon button over and over until it activates without clicking on anything else at all.
Your achievement will uock after the brief scene.
Note: It took me about 40 minutes to run through the game from start to finish doing only what was necessary to progress.

Control will be upset at you for not returning immediately to your ship but that will not affect achievement progress.

Before going directly to the crane after turning on the generators you have to go down the elevator and release the two harnesses on the turbine. The crane option is not active until you do this.

This can be done without needing a full second playthrough if you make a manual save at the Control Room, this saves you having to redo the first 15 minutes or so of the game. I'd recommend completing the game to get the Grace ending first, make the manual save during Grace run and then do the Control ending as your 2nd playthrough using the save point.
