I was not able to earn this using any regular method over 2 playthroughs. The problem seems to be that when a unit has "Thorns" activated the enemies will only take damage down to 1 HP and then they take zero damage, no matter what. But after trying to figure it out for awhile, a fortunate accident happened and the trophy just popped. If you are having trouble, give this method a try:
1) Aquire "THORNS" - I was able to find the THORNS spell 2 ways:
- Brigandine can learn it as an ORDER spell while leveling up
- In the Hub called "Armory" in Act 3 you can obtain an artifact, "Spiked Gloves" after beating the level which gives you permanent THORNS.
2) Activate THORNS either way and enter a hub battle with archers. Let any of the archers target your THORNS character with a charged attack (ie the ones that put a red X under your character). Kill the archer before the attack lands, the red X will remain. End your turn, when the dead archers attack strikes your character it will try to return the damage to the archer (who is already dead) and the trophy should pop.
