How to unlock the Trance Hacker achievement in Rez HD - Definitive Guide

Go to 'Beyond' mode and go to Direct Assault.

This is a straight run through all five levels in a row.

Completing it will unlock a new mode, complete each new mode until you unlock 'trance' mode and then beat that.

To beat it your best bet is to beat 'Boss Rush' mode first (unlocked by getting 95% shot-down on every level). Beating 'Boss Rush' unlocks infinite overdrives.

If that's a little beyond you at the minute, your second best bet is to play the game for between 5 and 10 hours. Each hour after 5 unlocks a new 'form'. Forms are your lives. The higher form the better. 2 or more lives should be enough if you're decent at the game.

Play for survival not score. Don't risk combo shots if there are lots of enemies and missiles. Save overdrives for tricky spots (you should anticipate these as by now you should know the levels fairly well).

Just like to add that you need to get 300k on 'Boss Rush' mode for first place on local leaderboards too unlock infinite overdrive mode (an achievement called "Firewall Buster" should unlock as well). Simply beating 'Boss Rush' mode under 300k will only give you the satisfaction of beating 'Boss Rush" mode. ^.^

Also, a turbo controller makes it much more comfortable when you have unlocked infinite overdrives. Activate them and turbo the B-Button You will only get stuck at the bossfights in area 2 and 3, all you have to do is moving your dpad/analog stick to make ur oberdrives aim at the enemies.

Simply finish the six different assault modes (normal, ambient, punk, oldschool, psychedelic, trance). A new mode will unlock after completing each one.

Just like to add that you can use infinite overdrives if you've unlocked them to make it easier on all the stages except the last one. You can't use them on he trance mission needed for the achievement.
