How to unlock the Insane achievement in Rift Keeper - Definitive Guide
You can and should buy upgrades to make it easier to survive and there is a sweet little trick to buy nearly all upgrades without using red stones. To do this, buy an upgrade - only a single one - at the stone fragment, back out and press to go back to the main menu. For some strange reason the game always put me back into the game right afterwards, but even if so, simply close the game and restart it.
You keep your red stones AND upgrade this way. Only the upgrades for more gold don't seem to work, so save them for last. I suggest to collect 10 red stones first, enough to upgrade anything else to max - just don't forget to upgrade only a single thing. The stones are randomly dropped by enemys and you keep them even after dying.
With a maxed out char it shouldn't be that hard, but here are some tips:
- your starting weapon is good enough, keep it for a bigger range
- if you find a healing statue early, keep it and travel back to heal yourself if needed
- use spells/bows to kill enemys from a bigger distance - especially if your low on health
- keep your attention on the floor for those small bomb throwing things - can be easily overseen
- make sure to use both! ring slots and everything else that raise your stats
- follow the green arrows right after killing 70% of the enemys
- play more carefully in later levels
Boss 1 - at stage 10
will always appear behind you. Roll away and attack. It's possible to win if you spam the attack button without evading once, but it's more risky. Overall very easy.
Boss 2 - at stage 20
will be immune to damage at two different times. You have to hit the swords on the ground to make him vulnerable again. He is slow and you can pull of some damage after he missed you. It's also possible to keep distance and use spells/your bow if you prefer that method.
Boss 3 - at stage 30
will spawn enemys and let many rocks fall down at you. Evade the rocks and kill the enemys, until the boss stops and is vulnerable. I used my spells to turn him into a blob and used my sword afterwards. I had to repeat this a couple of times until the fight was finally over.
During all these fights, you can refresh your health at the statue. Stage 31 - 32 are regular stages without bosses. There are 50 stages total, but you only need to reach 33 btw. If you have something to add to my guide, feel free to leave a comment!
