Ring of Pain

The Shrieker enemy is only found on the Instability path.

They have a decent amount of health and can one-shot you, along with sending out a damage spike around the whole ring every three turns. The easiest way to kill one is to min-max for speed with the Hermit's Tiara which allows you to freeze on hit. Only go for speed upgrades (strength if speed is unavailable).

When you get to the floor make a b-line for the Shrieker. Freeze each enemy on the way, then pass them. Don't worry, they don't unfreeze. Grab any potions to keep health up and if you have high enough speed to first strike then all you have to do is whittle him down while freezing any pursuers that are after you in between hits. The Ice Breaker Hammer works well with this as it allows you to do 5 default damage to frozen enemies even against high defense or with low attack.

An alternative method uses the misting vessel and the spell Soul Spill. Level your speed and strength together enough to earn up souls then use the Misting Vessel to bypass all the enemies on the Instability floor then cast Soul Spill to instantly kill him and any other enemies. Keep in mind this one is a lot trickier to pull off as skipping most enemies will limit your soul gain. You can pair the Soul Spill with the Tiara to better effect.
